What is the best Baozi in China? This is probably one of the most debated questions foodies are asking themselves. Tianjin is home to one of the original gangsters of the BAOZI world, the 'Go Believe Baozi'. The reason this topic is so controversial is because the go believe became really expensive and became less available.
To be honest, it was a pretty good BAOZI. But, I can understand where people are coming from. If meat pies and sausage rolls became really expensive at my local bakery maybe I too would be outraged.
I think these guys saw competitors like Din Tai Fung, and wanted to cash in on that BAOZI MONEY. But their greed has put people off..
Oh well, I am used to Baozi in Australia being $$$ so I was able to focus on the flavour, which was great!

Honestly speaking, you just did what tourist did in Tianjin. I lived in Tianjin for 7 years before i came to Germany. Local guys never eat that baozi.

Yeah, the locals kind of bag out on the Baozi - there are a ton of videos out there talking about how overpriced they are and whatnot - my partner is Tiranjinese and had never even tried them before. I kind of wanted to try the foods that put the place on the map, but they have all become chain stores. What would you suggest eating there?

@Kai Lun Qu So true! We love street food and it can be really fun! We were in China during the summer... and even though we are used to the dry heat of Australia, it was like 37 degrees celsius. That is why we looked for some places with AC. Actually one morning we had Jianbing from a street cart, it was amazing and it had a really nice doughnut inside it! Next time we will try and go there when it's not the middle of summer :)
