We got to a big machinery auction and look as some Bulldozers, skid steers, trucks they had it all there and stay tuned to see if we got anything bought. Follow me on Instagram: / westengw Facebook: / westengw
Westen Champlin I enjoyed the video I like the same shit So it’s nice to see some one else spend there money on junk I think is gold 😂 love the videos man!
Westen Champlin, you could do a cheap truck challenge with what you found in that place, can't wait to see what you have bought next, love your work mate!!
Same here. We have been wondering over the last months. Where does this know how come from? We have dropped a few Texas channels and started tuning in regularly here.
This right here is how you make money knowledge and detective mode see the bigger picture...Awesome content and wicked knowledge keep up the auction videos plzzz
I saw that radiator and fan missing right away too. With the turbo and radiator and other parts missing it’s most likely got a dead motor or transmission and they decided to part it out instead of fix it.
Usually they come from rental agencies. They want broken vehicles gone asap. As a renter, you get the bill anyway. The proceeds of the auction are just a bonus..
Westen.... watching and listening to you dissect those vehicles is the most interesting part of these videos. I’m not an expert, but I have an enormous interest in the viability of purchasing vehicles that are both relatively new... AND ‘junked’ due to a Major (or undetermined) mechanical failure. For other mechanics it might be boring... but for someone like myself that doesn’t have the years of experience learning the intricacies of modern vehicles... YOUR knowledge and ability to dissect those vehicles (especially the line of 1-ton pickups), is REALLY REALLY INTERESTING. PLEASE CONTINUE TO POST VIDEOS EXACTLY LIKE THE “AUCTION DAY” vid, focusing on the rapid diagnostics, truck by truck LIKE YOU DID AT THE MIDDLE AND END OF THIS VIDEO. THAT SHOWS OFF YOUR INTELLIGENCE AND KNOWLEDGE IN A WAY THATS RELEVANT TO PEOPLE LIKE MYSELF THAT WANT TO KNOW MORE ABOUT THE MECHANICAL STATE OF ALL THESE USED PICKUPS FOR SALE. I CANT GAIN YEARS OF KNOWLEDGE WRENCHING IN A SHOP OR GOING TO EXPENSIVE TRADE SCHOOLS, SO WATCHING YOU DISSECT THOSE VEHICLES IS REALLY REALLY COOL. Keep up the vids and ignore the commenters that are trolling around trying to belittle your knowledge out of spite. Thanks bud keep it up!
I'm genuinely curious to meet Westens dad after seeing him float around that diesel grave yard like that. He had to have learned all that from somewhere.
My best friend is like this, he knows all this stuff inside and out better than I do. I always thought he learned from his dad but he said he was self taught, his dad is not very mechanical at all.
@@benfairhall5331 There are people that thinks they know it all, you probably one of them, and there are people who know they never gona know it all and I think this guy is one of them... but the things he do know is over your head. It's like saying you get good in football or powerlifting just beeing "around". The constant reading, searching and education a guy must do to succed in what he is doing is amazing and should be appriciated.
Markus Palmqvist oh ok so I’m a diesel mechanic by trade and this stuff is over my head? Hahaha this is my bread and butter champion. So know I don’t think I no stuff from hanging around people I work in this stuff every day. So jog on sweetheart.
@@benfairhall5331 Of course it is. He's doing his thing, follow his head...as it's the only one he got. I think he could miss some goodies but there was a lot on that auction so he was on the safe side. Over 200 000 followers, then they usually have their hands on more money than before and he wouldn't buy them anyway but took a walk with them for us to see.
Westen, I enjoy going to the car auctions and seeing how you inspect every vehicle is great. More videos like this, or even how you bid would be awesome.
232K subscribers yahooooo! So much fun with you guys at the Auction. Love hearing Garrett in the background. Don't be shy let's see you once in a while. Love this show so much. So much to look at and how you see whether worth it or not.. Too cool. Thanks so much for taking us with you. Love ya lots!!
Hey Weston that was very interesting and informative it’s nice to see a actual auction video where someone knows what to look at and how to look very cool and rare to see you should do more and explain how to check things over for those who wouldn’t have a clue
It would be impossible for him to give an in depth answer on that. Every piece of equipment is different. If you ever decide you are going to buy a vehicle or piece of equipment, you should do in depth research on all of the problems that are specific to it ahead of time. Spending the time to do so will save you an incredible headache later.
Dude! This is one of the most informative videos I’ve ever seen you make. Having grown up in the junkyards myself, I can say this, you know your shit. I have thoroughly enjoyed this video more than any you’ve ever made before.
When you opened the pete up i was like please westin get a semi ;0 id love to see you work on a semi good o'l c15 or something enjoy your time in texas love your videos
@@WestenChamplin in Cali you can get pretty cheap semi's for like 3K-5K because emissions make them obsolete. Most of them are Cascadias but you can see some occasionally Peterbilts and Kenworths.
I like watching you use your knowledge on analyzing each machine you look at! You see and know things people don't know. I really enjoyed watching this. Hope you do more!
I’d love to see more auction videos! Not only is the auction aspect interesting but in just the few short minutes of this video I feel I learned something. I think it’s great you talk about and show us the weak points and diagnose things that goes wrong with certain vehicles or equipment from various manufacturers. It’s actually really educational and useful to someone like me. Looking forward for what’s to come!
I would like to see more. I thought it was cool the way you answered the questions showed your knowledge but at the same time it helps somebody like me learn what to look at and what to look for. Great vijo
Video Idea: I’d like to hear your story about how you started working on trucks and got into this “truck business”. I’m sure a lot of folks are curious too. Thanks!
Mmmmm... Heavy equipment auctions... seriously jealous! Some guys get to do all the cool stuff!! At least the rest of us get to live vicariously through your videos. I would LOVE to see more of this!
Westen, you are a diesel genius and only 21. You seem to have grown up fixing these machines! I really liked the walk around at auction to see how you decide what to bid on. You need your own show on velocity or motortrend channel. I look forward to when new Westen videos pop up. I Get some real technical knowledge and few humorous sayings from the farm. You are a youtube sensation. Hope bob doesnt get jealous you looking at new skid loaders. He may not start the next time you need him to work!
I knew I saw you out there. I’m one of the mechanics on the Ritchie brothers yard. I was gonna come say hi. But I didn’t know if it was actually you😂😂😂
Westen Champlin for sure man. Would be pretty cool to talk with you. I’ve got a RU-vid channel to. Just been slackin on the video makin because we were so busy gettin ready for sale
Dang, watching this gives me so much respect for you and your equipment procurement. Really know your stuff and seems like you’re really living your passion!
More of this! It's super cool to see you go through machines saying what's wrong with em. You said it was boring to watch but that was the most interesting thing I've seen all day! Nice job!
I really enjoyed this video really got to see a different side of Westin and for him to share his knowledge and they way he speaks good on you man keep up the good work love the vids
I like the auction videos. Been looking at getting involved in some around my area. Would be nice to see how you go about them and what you’re looking for
I love these kind of videos. I’m like you in the early stages. Still trying to learn and I’m self taught. It’s amazing what a little money, tools, RU-vid, and a good mindset can learn.
I love when someone makes a joke and they think no one heard them. So they repeat the joke and, yes we heard you the first time, it just bombed that bad!😂😂
Just watch all your videos love them , you’re just so positive guy man just watching your videos after a long day of work your videos make my days better keep them coming westen
I enjoy going to the auction preview with you and do your detective work on as is equipment.Very interesting finding out what the history was on the machines.
I would love to see more about the auctions. Hell I love when you give the top few things to look out for like you did the diesel video a while back. Keep up the good work!
I've watched this vid 3 times, and always pick up something I've missed. You are Way knowledgeable about this stuff. Especially for your age. That's because you really enjoy learning and fixing all these machines. I was the same way about jazz, and music in general, when I was a youngin'. Plus, you're smart as a whip, which you have to be to learn so much so thoroughly. I hope I get to meet you sometime!
Westen I genuinely appreciated the video it was my favorite. I would love to learn even a bit of the knowledge you have about things like this. If you could make more videos like this you have sold me.
Its quite simple. Diesels are very simple engines to deal with. Wrench on them enough and you know the ins and outs. 68rfe trans usually blow apart. Cummins engines that idle for too long will have fuel wash out the cylinders of oil destroying the engine. Oilfield aint no joke on equpiment. Ran hard put away wet. Had a guy who couldnt get his truck out of 4x4. Comoany said drive it. 300 miles later the transfercase blew and the entire front axle was destroyed. Did as he was told though.
Quite simple machines really. Bit of reading, bit of wrenching youll learn a lot. Just depends how much you want to spend on a busted up truck to repair.
@@timdaviszaper Why you look top to bottom, front to rear. Ive called dealers out many times over on broken things and issues. Just last week i spotted a nice used truck. Turns out it was trashed but a polished turd.
That was terrific. You went step by step in showing what was wrong with each unit. More specifically, you weighed weather our not if a unit was worth purchasing them basd on your ability to fix it and resell.
