Dark Crystal was one of my favourite films growing up, and Rooster Teeth have been an inspiration since my teenage years. This was the crossover I didn't know I needed.

Ahhh, I was born, quite a few years after this movie was released. But it still was a big part of my childhood and was probably my first time being shown things like family dying and more serious stuff(at least that I can remember) and even though the skeksis scared the daylights out of me, and those giant beetles, this movie will always hold a special place in my heart. I'm a little scared to watch the show because from the trailer alone I see a lot of changes to the story and even personalities. It's a little worrisome that the boy was even holding a sword since in the original he was raised by the peaceful species that didnt believe in that kind of thing :/ But I'll probably eventually watch it and rip the bandaid off

See, if anthropomorphic animals were a thing in real life, they wouldn't be like all that cute furry stuff. They'd be hideous and covered with rat fuzz like this. I mean, can you imagine an anthropomorphic vulture? This is it.

i watched the original dark crystal on VHS all the time when i was a kid so i got super hyped when the first episode of the show jumped into my recommended on Netflix out of nowhere

Now all we need is fanart of Yang punching a Seksis in the face.

for being a child of the 80's I completely missed The Dark Crystal and only saw it earlier this year... I would gladly trade a handful of the hours I spent rewatching Howard the Duck for the 50th time to have seen that movie back then it would have been a better experience.

I can confirm, the show is fantastic. I grew up watching Jim Henson shows/movies and other puppetry stuff, but I never actually heard the name 'The Dark Crystal' until this show was initially announced, and I was not disappointed what so ever. Puppetry was on point, Visuals are beyond incredible, and the characters are full of depth and are understandable/relatable and what not, considering they are puppets. I can't wait for Season 2 👏🏻
