Australia's " The Voice" John Farnham. Power and range, this guy has it all. Love LRB with John and Glenn, both excellent singers. Thanks for sharing. Love and Light from Michigan usa
Shame he sold that song to politics. He ruined it. Now i cant even listen to it. Apart from that, what a singer. Him and Shorrok suit the songs they sing in LRB perfectly.
How can one NOT appreciate the talent of Farnham... for every member who ever called LRB their musical 'home base,' for even just a little while? Listen up kiddies. THIS is what you call REAL talent and REAL music!
Our thoughts go out to fabulous talented man who is fighting one of the hardest battles in life! Get well John you have given us so much joy with your music in our lives...you and Olivia Newton-John were amazing together....lots of love from Vancouver BC Canada! 💓
Totally awesome vocal by John Farnham! Style, tone, power ... he's got it all! And backed by the really tight harmonies and playing of LRB. Great song!
With respect to all the former original LRB members, this line up of voices is its greatest. I was at this concert in 1983, and LRB blew the roof off with these incredible voices. John Farnham is the greatest singer on the planet. There is only one LRB , born and breed in Australia. Not the tribute band living of LRBs legacy there in the USA. Thank you LRB for your incredible voices and music back in Melbourne 1983. Cheers Jeff
my God I just love the sound of his voice.....I was entranced by it as a 13year old in the 80's.....didn't know who the hell this band were, nor did i know who their singer was ! Just LOVED the sound of his voice.....still do...
I echo everything you've posted. Only really discovered John's repertoire in the last year. I'm having the time of my life, i watch the youtube videos daily. He's made me feel about 50 years younger than my 79 years. What a voice, what amazing backing singers and band members, , it's such a joy to play his music. Jan. '24.. UK. E❤
Trust me dude.... this guy hangs in the pocket the whole night. He should have KILLED it in America. Hate that he and LRB only hung together for 4 years. He took off to be a huge sensation to Australia but the American style is awesome
He was hugely famous in Australia at this time but he was about to hit the stratosphere 3 years later with an album called Whispering Jack. Still to this day it is the highest selling Australian album and is 24 x platinum. Check it out.
One of the great vocalists of all time, his voice soars, towers, and cuts right through you… Vocally speaking, he pulls each and every emotion out of every note. Incredible voice.
John's voice was pure magic and this was one of his best. I bet he worked very hard to make it that way.... nonetheless the pleasure of listening is still overwhelming.
@@sherryshelton5699 I saw LRB in Costa Mesa California in 1986 and John was the lead singer at that time. Your right their music will always be great and worth listening to cranked up. 👍😁✌️❤️
Australia is blessed. Thank you Graeham for one of you best music compositions. Seeing John again is just icing on the cake. This Sydney Opera House gig is wonderful.
What a voice!! 🥰 love to watch him singing this song! Positively sensual! Lost track of how many times I've watched this video. Just can't get enough of him! 🥰
All alone, on my own Since I walked out on you, I walked out on me, now it's gone And you, what to do There's so much time, and so many nights to get through Oh why do we play, and why do we lose It's a dangerous life we live, we two We are fools, we make all these rules We make it so hard to find love, to feel free, to be fresh outta school And now, what of romance Do we know that life is sweeter when we're taking a chance So why do we run, and why do we cry It's a crazy life we life, you and I Carousels and wishing wells were the things we loved To fly away in a big balloon was what she talked of, oh... Alone, out on my own I just wander the streets and stare at the places we've known And now, what of myself Can I go on pretending a love for somebody else Oh why do we play, and why do we lose It's a dangerous life we live, we two Carousels and wishing wells were the things we loved Why did we play, why did we stay alone, we two To fly away in a big balloon was what she talked of Why did we love and leave the memory of we two Now she is gone, I'm left to carry on
Love this song! Brilliant vocals, for sure, not to mention the cool lyrics. Yes this is a dub but appreciate seeing the band while listening to this great song.
Was listening to a LRB greatest hits and this gem came up (it was buried deep on the list, like 15th or something) and then the voice exploded and I said holy shite, this is not the original singers. Then found out it was John Farnham's and I fell in love with LRB again and again. His take on Reminiscing is unique and just kicks ass!!! What a gift!
Rick Braun because in my own opinion the Americans were jealous of him because his voice is one of the best in the world and no male singer in America could match his range
Farnham was a great stand in for Glenn Shorrock. With Birtles and Goble as the accompanying voices. Had the Little River Band ever survived without Shorrock, it would/should have been with Farnham for sure. Even if Glenn had came back on board, Farnham should have stayed as an asset voice to the band. That would have been one hell of a line up and complemented the line up for sure. Unfortunately with all the legal issues LRB has had in the past 20+ years with the ownership of the name and Glenn, Beeb, and Graeham having to form Birtles, Shorrock, and Goble, it's unfortunate the original line up can't come back on board with their rightful name THE LITTLE RIVER BAND!! The courts fouled up on this one folks.....Glenn, Beeb, and Graeham ARE "THE LITTLE RIVER BAND"....PERIOD!!
@@jasonfunk5908 Not sure what their relationship was, but they would have made great music together for sure. Good harmony. Of course, that was a trade mark of LRB, good contrasting harmony in their songs.
LRB are a great band but John Farnham is a solo artist always has been. A much better singer than Glenn with all due repect to him. John had the best voice in Australia and is not far off it now at 72.
One of my favorite song I sincerely love the lyrics to this song, and so many I have loved and always wished for a We Two. And I was very fortunate to have see Little River Band Live in Columbia Falls, Montana the first concert I took my children to, they requested Happy Anniversary my late son's favortie song by LRB. They met Glenn I was very happy they met my favorite band of all time.
Makes me swoon..every time. The passion, intensity, and sweat in this performance is just too much for my female persuasion to resist, lol. Total youth refresher..John Farnham this was, in my mind, the pinnacle of and the finest performance of LRB legend.
This was the best band, they just had a '70's vibe, instead of the psyched '80's. I grew up listening and being a great fan of all their music! They are so amazing. Heard they are going to be in Roanoke's Elmwood Park 17 June 2022, with AIR SUPPLY
I haven't heard this in probably 35 years! Amazing Voice! A once forgotten and lost treasure, like a little. present from GOD, now found again for our listening pleasure!
Here is a song by The Little River Band that not very many people have heard before. It is a long time ago and a different singer than the original, but this guy brings it big time with his vocals. I admit I do not know his name, nor any previous history of him, but he is brilliant on the style of LRB. Any fans of this group will know exactly what I mean.
john Farnham Vocal range is unbelievable, vocal power is so strong, great looking guy and could sing anything. What's not to like? I've seen the rest of this concert on tv and was so Great. Wish I was there.
I saw this concert when it aired on tv. I fell in love! Still my favorite concert performance ever, by every member of the band. They crushed it! So happy the footage is being shared for future generations. I'd buy this DVD if only there were one available. HBO or LRB is missing out on $$$$ opportunity, issued a DVD! I'd watch it constantly. Love LRB Forever!!!!
I’m American and I think LRB’s vocals are incredible, I’ve loved them since 1975, I’ve bought all their music and sang karaoke on many of their songs, one of my favorites to sing is Cool Change and Its a Long Way There.
I'm from a small town , next to Wichita Kansas. Had a great privilege to see LRB 5 Times. Took some really Awesome pics. Have nothing but the memory any more. And the thousand checks on Google as I blow up their music. So.. THe BEST!! My heart swells .
Goes to show that when music is great, it is forever great. Here it is almost 2019 and we are still sharing thoughts about what a fabulous group Little River Band was, especially the years that John Farnham was with them. Such harmonies!
