Actually we sent a crap ton of money to Europe and Russia during and after World War II. We even wrote off the massive debt the Europeans owed us from all the money we gave them to rebuild their countries. In exchange, they've been stalwart allies of the US for the past century.

Sorry, Rand, but your strong army hasn't won a war in Afghanistan, or Korea, or Vietnam. Russia did all of the heavy lifting in WW2. They've had a superior army all along. More efficient per unit of currency. And with a history of fighting Nazi's for their own survival, they are as determined now as they were back then to defeat, what they see is the same enemy re-emerging after a long hibernation. Russia is engaged against NATO mercs on daily basis. Tell me, Rand, which way the border is moving. Right or left? I only agree with the 1st half of your speech. The 2nd half is padding and pandering. The speech wants to do the right thing, but partially for the wrong reason. Rand says capitalism won. Rand likes to pretend the current system is something other than socialism. Privatization of gains and socialization of losses. We have no capitalism. And Russia failed because it was overextended and corrupt. When everyone steals, wealth doesn't reach remote regions that are expected to contribute disproportionally. Military eats through all the surplus. Money printers go brrrr, and the country goes under. That's how they failed. Capitalism didn't defeat USSR. That country defeated itself. And right now we're doing the same thing. Nice speech and all, but too late. And nothing will change. Just sit and watch the prices double again and again, till you're on the street. End of story.
