I'm late! Waited all week for this, thank you Ben & MP.. and Yaba! EDIT To see Ben sweating reminds me your in the southern hemisphere. Lewisville TX it is 27f or -2.7! Later this week we should be 80f or 26.6c. That time of year!

I have been watching all the episodes before you actually started. I think both of you are amazing! Your energy has been great. When you hit the water soon; stay the same with your energy and attitude. "Hard work never killed anybody". Don't slack off, or you'll become like so other many other boat builders I've been watching. Too many are spending too much time "paying attention to detail", rather than getting off the land and onto the water. It's okay to float and continue to build your boat; it will build your confidence that your boat is solid and can handle the sea. I'm 78; you have plenty of time to sail. The best to you with your future see adventures.🙂

That bow sprit's looking good. After of the faint-hearted you have a platform, is this standard for Brazilian Boats? I live NNW USA. With North Pacific storms and a following sea, we would probably lose the platform. Your boat looks great, NO WORRIES!

@@henrinijkamp319 well, i think there is a balance and Leo’s project lost the balance at one point. This is a wooden boat, not a piece of art or a museum piece. I don’t like the perfectionist attitude it has taken for the last year. It is my opinion.

Every time I see Ben out on the scaffolding I just cringe! If he falls, you will be indefinitely delayed getting the boat in the water. I have two brothers that were both almost killed falling off of ladders. Speaking of heights, what are plans for the masts? Will they be painted or sanded and sealed with epoxy or varnish? They appear to have no steps for climbing, so will you just use a lifting chair and the pulleys?

For comercial sailing ships it's required to pull the masts and inspect the rig every 5 years. You're also supposed to exchange the running rigging every 6 years. I don't want to sound too negative but in your case it's deffentiely a good idea to pull the masts take off every metal ring and look how the condition of the wood is underneath. There have been quite a lot of deadly incidents because of breaking wooden masts and spars. The area around the spreaders looks especially suspicious. Don't risk your life and your beautiful boat! A breaking mast is no joke.

The wooden framework against the diesel tanks should certainly keep them from moving side to side, but what are you doing to prevent chafe caused by vibration? On a similar note, since the boat has been out of the water for a very long time, and the decks have been exposed to a great deal of freshwater in the form of rain, what are you doing to pickle the decks?
