@kenschultz3836 it is when the guy wants top dollar for the tractor. We're pretty good about locked up engines but it just takes alot of time and money.

I’m betting that because this was a farm by the sounds of the title that the guy who ran this farm was buying equipment as he needed it when the old equipment would get to the point where it was not worth repairing he probably just parked him in the woods like all farmers did back in the olden daysyou’ll find scattered probably a lot of these abandoned. Farmstead’s still left with all the equipment in the bushes. That’s just what they did tractors trailers, especially if the trailers or implements were pretty badly rusted out or frozen.

My great grandfather on my mom‘s side used to do mechanical stuff to tractors and things, but never really did any engine rebuilds would just do engine swaps. I don’t think he was ever confident enough from what I’ve been told to do a full engine rebuild, nor did he ever want to and he owned quite a bit of stuff in his yard. It’s been cleaned up, but this was probably back in the 50s and 60s and 70s mostly when my grandmothers siblings and her could remember this, but I’m sure he had been doing it long before they were born. My grandmother was born in 37 so I’m sure her dad was collecting in repairing stuff along before that along with his dad, who also lived in that house. And I was always told there was a lot of stuff in the yard an old boat and some other things and if I remember correctly as a kid at one time, there was a giant pile of Schwinn, bicycle parts, handlebars, and frames. This was back in the 1990s when I was a kid, like I said , it’s since been cleaned up
