Hi friends and happy Tuesday! We had so much fun dumpster diving yesterday and found some really cool stuff! It's wild to think about all the amazing items we've found in DUMPSTERS ~ it's really a shame that we live in such a throw away culture, but I hope my channel will help encourage others to give dumpster diving a try. Once you see how much you can save from the landfill, you really get hooked! :D

I think you should develop relationships with local scrappers. You text them a pic and address of appliances or metal finds. They text and pic to you clothes and home goods. Like a mutual aide society, lol. It would further your goal of recycling, save gasoline, and hopefully get you goodies.

Love that you realize homeless do need other things as well. Thrift shops also sell gently used undergarments so the ones that think it is gross in the comments have never been in a needed spot and are fortunate but should not judge. hugs and love.

We used to have some pigs when i was growing up in PA. My Grandfather had a friend in town who had a donut shop and we would get his leftovers for the pigs , they loved them and they were not going to waste.

It’s so upsetting seeing all those donuts! I saw a tiktok of a worker giving out the donuts to homeless people instead of throwing them away and he literally got fired for doing it. The world is so messed up.

You're right: "this world is messed up." Also workplace policies are workplaces policies, and God commands us to obey our superiors and the Bible says when you help to do it discreetly. You are always thinking of others, that's refreshing. If you ever come across adult sized socks, nursing homes appreciate those. Too bad about the doughnuts, people in need really need those calories as sometimes they don't know the next time they will get a meal or something to eat. We don't even have a pantry system like you have and it is an issue because many folks don't like to be known because of prejudice. It's sad. I love what you do Kelly and pray that you are making money so you can meet your own cash flow. Life costs. I would like to see you and your hubby do the 100 dumpsters again, that episode was fun and if I remember you made out well.

I work at an antique mall and people throw away so much stuff ALLLL the time so I dive at my work...(my boss is okay with it) they also throw away stuff that get cracked or if stuff gets broken off. I simply just glue things back. Today I have Christmas ornaments, a huge glass chicken, a glass pelican, Christmas decorations, and hand stitched vintage hand towls all from the trash

I hope your husband heals up really quick from his back injury! Such fun watching your enthusiasm for diving. That stereo would be a good project for your Hubby while recovering? Amy, Frugal Mommy, loved getting breads and donuts from dumpsters for her family, too. Great All the DD Community is asking for Donations for her Medical Bill's, I donated to help her too!🙏❤❤❤

Regarding those "battery-operated" items that dont work: They might be corroded with rust. I found it's easy to clean the battery packs w q-tips and alcohol, and restored some rusted items myself. A great EASY project for your Husband to do while recovering? Good Luck! You are very nice to clean up things before donating! Bless You!🙏👏🙂😃❄❄❄

I used to work for popular donut shop. We donated our food till some ass hat ruined it and tried to sue my boss claiming he broke his tooth on a dime in a muffin. It's not that they don't want to donate. A lot of people are looking to make a quick buck.

I have that same little Christmas tree exactly. If is a gift from my late Mother. A very treasured item with those little tiny ornaments too. I put it on my coffee table every year. You should keep that. You would love it.

Hi my neighbor put her lamps and extra cane in the trash. She told me so I could get them. They were new. My old ones (40 years old, but they work) are going to my daughter's friends who just moved. I also rescued 2 tables and 3 paintings from another neighbor who was "tired of them". Keep up your good work. Tina

Probably farmers. There is covid to worry about with unpacked food. There is a Safeway in San Francisco, ca that buy day old pastry for a shelter,but all is packed.

You can’t ask other people to take the risk of eating unsealed food. I only ever donate foods in their packaging or produce that can be washed.

Or maybe they could work out a deal with a large office in the area, and sell the left overs to the office with a huge discount. That way they don’t go to waste and they make money. Of course, homeless would be better.

If you don't want to wear those socks you recovered, you can wash them up and use them as cleaning/dusting rags. Keep a couple in the trunk of your car to check fluid levels.

You can ask the donut shop or Bread shops for free pickup up of the end of the night product. I used to take them to the nursing home and they love them. Nothing went into the dumpster. I picked it up in the store at closing.

"Stereo" was actually an AV receiver. HT-R591 is a lower midrange model from 2012. Since it was out there, I'd suspect it to have a bad HDMI board, fairly common fault and not easily fixed unfortunately (needs a new rev. D DSP chip, which last time I checked were $25 just for the part).

Normally I would pass up the underwear too, but the pregnancy center in my area told me that they actually give it to the daycare next door when it gets donated. It's very useful for when kids have potty accidents. If it's in good shape maybe see if local daycares or preschools could use it for that very common situation.

you look happy and carefree today. I am glad your man is with you, I think sometimes we need the support along the way. I was DDing and a woman drove by slowly and stopped, I waved at ther and she rolled down her window and gaveme the dirtiest look in the world. I waved again and said, Just dumpster diving for things to donate to keep them out of the land fill, and she said, I own this place and you can't have those shirts, they have the store name on them. I tossed the back in and grinned at her, and said, I look for things to donate, she said "you could come in and ask. I said I mainly look for magazines and books for the senior homes, " she glareda t me again, but I didn't care, if she tosses it, I will get it if it will be donatable. or usable. it is not against the law, their dumpster is away from their store, and gets all sorts of things in it.
