Hi everyone! This was my day on Saturday June 13th. My mom and I went to the beach and picked up beach glass. I didn’t have a seizure for 10 days and on the way back home I lost that record in the car by having one. My menstrual time is right around the corner so I am thinking my hormones may have something to do with it. Next time let’s try to beat 10 days! 💪🏼

@Charlene Anderson I genuinely agree that the person having a seizure shouldn’t be held. Albeit, if she did not hold her, then she would have hit her head in the window from the chronic kicking and thrusting movements that transpired during the seizure. At least the way she held her wasn’t that lengthy, especially how she held her leg because she kicked the glove compartment.

When my boyfriend Nate feels a seizure coming on, he sits down wherever he is quickly & holds up his hands in front of his face & concentrates on his hands and touching his thumbs to each of his fingers & it stops the seizures from coming on. It's pretty amazing.

No it doesn’t stop it. If you are gonna have a seizure you will have one you can’t stop it
@tishajgrau6270
@tishajgrau6270 2 года назад
If a full grand mal seizure comes on real suddenly, there's no stopping it. A lot of the time the person doesnt notice it's coming before it hits. But someone with them may notice a tell-tale sign a seizure is about to hit (like just one very quick body twitch so fast it's barely noticeable). Often if u tell them a seizure is coming on, they will deny it & say they're fine. Then 30 seconds later the person drops into a full on grand mal seizure violently shaking & unresponsive. But if the seizure comes on more slowly like with a sudden dizziness that knocks you off your feet & feels like the bottom is dropping out from under you fast but you still have some control over your faculties, it does help to find some way to breathe,focus & concentrate everything on regaining control. You can stop your seizure that way. I've known several people who do this. But everyone is different. The technique is supported by some neurologists but doesn't work for everyone.

My daughter is 12 years old and has seizures like yours. She started having them when she was 4 after a short time we got them under control with meds, until she was 10 and then she started having them again. Today she asked me what it looks like when she has a seizure, so I went looking for a real non-acted out example and found this video. People like you who put their situations out there to expand awareness and knowledge are so awesome. Thank you so much for that.

@@adrenalinejunkie3828Overheating actually does make your blood sugar drop. I have type 1 diabetes and hypoglycemic shock is more than enough to send me into convulsions/black out. Think about it. Increases in body heat go hand in hand with boosted metabolic rate and more blood sugar is burned in the process. Hence why many diabetics are always carrying snacks.

Kudos to mom for being their🤗🤗 major support. As for imagination its like sorta remembering a day but at the same time it's all a blur. Example mine. I had a seizure once when I was 8 after falling on my head when my steep brother accidentally bumped me off of the acrobat bar on the playset in the playground and I have to say, minus hitting my head the seizure itself was horrifying, so I pray she doesn't remember. Because the worse feeling to have is that you can only watch from the backseat and have no control over your body, I had nightmares about it for a few months. Now days I can't control my body temp do to nerve damage in my neck, so if I get to hot I have to take a cool shower or pass out and a hot one at times or I shiver till I can't move a muscle (this rarely happens but annoying none the less). these days my arms and legs twitch bad sometimes but not painful, and no seizure but the one that I know of when this happen. I still cringe at the memory.

So incredible that your seizures have been getting better. 💗 It really sounds like stress/heat exacerbates them. I don't have seizures myself, but I do have a problem with heat regulation, and it causes me to get hives really easily. It started from extreme stress a few years ago, after getting out of a traumatic relationship, and I was diagnosed with PTSD. Stress can really affect us, that's for sure. I know when I get hot, I get very very stressed because I know I won't cool off easily, then it's just a bad cycle.

Newly subscribed, though I've watched quite a few of your videos already. Thank you SO MUCH for allowing people a glimpse into your daily life. Growing up around people who have seizures, I know each person is absolutely unique, and each experience with seizures is just as unique as the body and mind of the person experiencing it. I'm so glad your videos may be helping people in ways that you may not even realize - or maybe you do! My ex used to have seizures (sometimes 5-15/day) and quite a few (not all, obviously) were directly related to the phone cell service reacting to the house speakers or car stereo. It was just light enough to cause a pattern in the speakers that would trigger them. I've seen quite a few of your videos you've got speakers/sound in the background with cell phones close to you. Each and every person is different with different seizure triggers, so this may not apply to you, of course, but it may be something in the sound waves on a TV/stereo/car speaker that is almost undetectable to a lay person, but easily picked up by someone who has seizure reactions to patterned lights or sounds. For my ex, any texts messages that came through the phones would reverberate through the speakers, almost like a barely detectable sonic boom.

Born in the wrong time meh, yeah she does. Doesn’t really matter if you are diagnosed with “epilepsy” or not... after about three years of having seizures and a few weeks a few months ago in the EMU (epilepsy monitoring unit) here in Toronto, one of the best in the world... the saw where (only caught a few) they were coming from, either side of my temporal lobe... but yeah, having seizures all the time is called epilepsy.

the best thing to do when you have a seizure is making sure the people around you but you on your right side so you don't choke on anything or swallow your tongue. i hope you get better sooner than later, i feel your pain.

You can't swallow your tongue. It does relax and fall to the back of the throat, blocking your airway.

When it's cold and windy on a beach, it's actually warmer to lay down on the sand. The sand is giving off heat so it feels nice and warm where your body is against it, and the wind doesn't blow much, if at all, down at ground level.

You are such a gorgeous girl both inside and out. I hate that you have to go through this. I know it sucks. My seizures used to be really bad. Ive been seizure free since 2017. Keppra really worked wonders for me. If you havent tried it I would definitely recommend. No side effects.... Other than when you 1st start taking it you will be SUPER sleepy for about a week. After that you wont even notice youve taken it. Its a great medication. I have also heard about a surgery that can be done to stop seizures. They put some sort of implant in your brain or something. I really hope you find something that works. You seem like a wonderfully smart, talented, sweet and beautiful girl.

Hi Ang, i happened to find your channel accidentally, i have infrequent febrile seizures due to recurring infection and i have to say i'm really impressed with how candid you are and the awareness you're raising. 10 days without a fit is nothing to sniff at and you are doing amazing \m/ you go girl!!!
