I went to my local store in the UK yesterday and asked for advice in paints and varnishes, The staff are amazing the do classes in the store learning people how to paint and play the game.
Tyler here: That is so cool! yeah, being brand new to Warhammer it was overwhelming going into the citadel but the staff were all very helpful and patient. They answered any and all beginner questions I had even though they probably answer those questions daily, it honestly helped push me into Warhammer more!
I shop there frequently. Very nice, helpful staff. Went in there the other day, only to stumble upon an Online Only model kit that’s been sold out for months! I was like “how the heck did yall get this?!’
I'm in SoCal. there is a Warhammer Cafe in Altadena. Me and my 40k buddy visited once. It was cool But I buy most of my models from a FLGS. I can call them and they will hold any new release I want without preordering it. Takes the stress out of buying limited edition sets likethe Christmas sets, Indomitus or leviathan. I only usually buy paints and novels from my local Warhammer store.
apparently! I was surprised when we looked it up, such a random city for Warhammer of all things but for the first time in a long time, I'm glad to be a DFW local haha!
@@AgingWith8Bit I believe the US headquarters is pretty close by, hence why this is the flagship US store. At least that is what we were told when we were there.
You went to the largest Warhammer store in the USA to get into Warhammer and expected to not pay over $200 to get a starting army.... you really like playing with warpfire don't you?
Been there many times. Honestly underwhelming IMHO. That said, the old minis from the eavy metal team in the display cases as well as the minis painted by Duncan on the Warhammer RU-vid channel is a great thing to view in person!
Reaper paints are my favorite as a beginner very forgiving … get cheap brushes at first you will ruin them. Other game suggestions would be Bolt Action or Konflikt 47 by Warlord games.
How big is the sigmar scene in dfw im local to the area and im just asking before I commit to a system. I want to know if you can commonly find games or not. My local store says alot of the players have sigmar armies but never said if they play them often?
Same... got sucked in because of age of sigmar cause I'm not a fan of space stuff and yes nighthaunt as well...I don't even play the game i just like the minis
