Oh god… having to wait 5 seconds is true terror, it could be trending on Twitter and spoil everyone in that amount of time if done by someone super famous or something…
I just appreciate the fact Kane Stuck to his Story, even if someone like Mat Got to it first and told us. He didnt back out or try to lead it in a whole other direction. Its nice
25:25 i think the idea is that Tench believed he was STILL INSIDE the Backrooms while in the A-sync facility. So going outside of A-sync would just lead him further into that portion of "the backrooms". Using that logic, the best idea would be to backtrack back into the backrooms and search for the "Real" exit, or some other form of exit into the real world. Because remember, in his mind, A-sync = A false A-sync created by the backrooms. So he's going back into the backrooms to search for the real one.
That is what they said in the video, but that also could've just been something they threw in there to add to their theory of his deteriorating mind. They wanted people to think he became delusional and died to a rock to the face. They could've easily lied about this to cover up them killing him even more than they already were.
Matt, the scene that plays at the end of damage control is the end of autopsy report. What’s funny is that if you go to the end of autopsy report, you can even hear the phone ringing in the background at the start.
my first thought at the end with the street views of peter was him actually getting away and they didn’t want to admit their failure, or give people fear that a dangerous “disturbed” person is running around free
I'm willing to bet he got away, made the phone call, the company recaptured him and then set up his 'fatal fall' and the explanation to the other employees.
I mean they said they saw him make a run for the hills when he got out. I'm pretty sure he tried to run home or somewhere where he can contact his family, and async tracked him down and killed him.
19:00 "Now, as he approaches the branch on the right here, pay close attention to the audio" **Audible ad** They sure know how to draw attention to their sponsors 😂
@@CodeeXD I think when I was in my first year at HS (2018) that school still had a payphone at the entrance. I don't think it did for my full time there.
There's another angle to be considered. If Peter ends up being a carrier for a disease, it would make sense for ASync to keep him under lock and key to prevent a pandemic from happening. If the bacteria is contagious, Tench's escape could result in a lot of people getting killed. Another consequence of discovering the Backrooms, apart from people noclipping.
That "portal" image looks like someone watching as a barn is ingulfed in flames. Also, Kane Pixels is getting his own Backrooms movie, so good for him!
As well as lied to his family and kept him in the facility for multiple days while most likely interrogating him then also presumably gunning him down in the forest. These kinds of companies will do anything to keep there infinite space pocket dimension to themselves. Much like the scp foundation and SCP-3008....huh...
@@tanker12999 with the pictures that flashed after their explanation. I think Tench escaped and there's no way he fell and died. I don't trust their account anyways even if they did finally own up to covering up his disappearance.
The ''song'' at 44:56 is from Autopsy Report at 1:55 in the video. edit: You can actually hear the phone in the background in Autopsy Report which is really cool
That is what I thought as well. But if you listen to the background of the phone call, you can hear the TV from the end of autopsy report. So maybe not.
I agree, I think those last few frames of the man in the street is actually Peter Tench. Also the fact that they emphasize so heavily, "Peter Tench is dead, and there is nothing else to be extracted," then they show a syringe, almost seeming to say, there IS more to be extracted.
@@NoobianWorld Why would they say he died if he didn't? What is more likely is that they killed him and said he hit his head on a rock. Saying he is dead to staff when he is just wandering the streets is the dumbest move imaginable and makes no sense. It makes such little sense that I wonder why they would do such a thing
43:50 Interesting to note, the "starman" is in the same pose as the person with the tank on their back in the previous photos. Also, important to note that in "Reunion" the person holding the shotgun, before Peter Tench got a hold of it, also had a tank on his back.
I think the phrase “if the wind is right, you can sail away” might be referring to travel in the complex. If you find the right areas in the complex you can time jump, be exposed to the green portals, or escape.
It’s a lyric from a song called Sailing by Christopher Cross which is about wanting to be free from pain and sailing away to paradise. This could what Tench was feeling when he was being held captive in the Backrooms.
@@Slipperyslab a picture can be abstract, can look like different things. Reminds me of those AI pictures that look like a completely different picture, depending how you look at it.
@@Slipperyslab but yes it looks like a tent, but also could be a symbol of a boat in the sea refering to the quote "If the wind is right, you can sail away" as well as connecting it back to the video "I remember".
There's no way someone working at a super secretive government funded facility would go that crazy that quickly. The vetting process that goes into projects like this is very intense for this very reason.
As someone who knows nothing about how RU-vid video posting works, when videos are uploaded, can they pick where/when the ads play? Or is it randomized? Because if you can, Kane is a genius for picking that spot.
I think the ending shots and especially phone ringing repeatedly are supposed to communicate that Tench escaped and was not in fact killed. He got beyond the A-Sync security team, escaped into the city, where he got to a phone booth, and tried to call his wife who wasn't available to pick up. Maybe she was sleeping, maybe grieving, at work, picking up kids etc. Of course he would keep trying to call after she didn't pick up the first time! He's desperate for his family to know that he's alive. In any case, I think it is clear that the A-Sync narrative is not entirely true.
My theory is as follows: the girl protagonist from the most recent found footage is one of tench's friends/family who he was trying to call. The green flashes are caused by people exiting/entering the backrooms. Tench was a few seconds too late to get in contact with his wife or whoever, making the story more tragic.
28:25 could it be that the monster they saw for the first time came from this and traveled back in time? Because this is the first one to get hurt from something that isn’t a monster already next to the carcrash.
To me, the audio at the end sounds like the noises Peter heard when he went into that smaller hallway. Haven't compared them yet, but maybe the phone ringing (a device being used) caused the audio to "play" in the backrooms. Could just be me though.
From a perspective of a man who went into the complex, got separated from his crew and then gets sent 2 months into the future. He can’t go immediately back to his family, the world has changed. I think there’s a good chance he could go back into the complex by his freewill. That’s all he knows, also he doesn’t know there’s monsters wandering around yet. So he could think it was safer than where he was held captive.
Another reason to go back: time travel. If Peter Trent wanted to go back to being legally alive again and knew he time traveled to future, maybe he wanted to try time traveling back to his "correct time" using the backrooms.
Even after knowing it was coming my body naturally reacted to that ad - thumb was ready to click when the count down was over. Not until I heard Mat did I realize and remember …
I honestly believe a-sync and their story, they started out just trying to find a way to have more storage for the world. A-sync had no bad intentions despite what happened. I will admit they could have handled the situation better, such as sending him out into the public with a different identity, that shouldn't raise suspicion because there are people in the world that look very similar, if not identical. Edit: this is the second time I've seen the video that mat was reacting to and I just realised at the end of the presentation by the a-sync member one of if not, all of the images that flashed on the screen were most likely images of Peter. I now agree with mat that a-sync is a bad company. Also 35:28 that drawing at the top right is probably a sail boat
To me, the music and sounds playing on the TV in the background while the phone is ringing sounds like the same music and noises that Peter heard in that hallway just before his time shift. I almost wonder if Peter made it to a phone booth and tried to call his wife before he got caught and/or killed.
That audio being displaced into the backrooms would suggest it went backwards in time by 4 months or so. Oh boy is that a timeloopy situation in that case.
@@Sorain1 Only if that is, indeed, Peter's wife's house. Maybe it's somebody else's. I'm just speculating the first thing that popped into my mind because it made sense, somehow. Like those future echoes from Red Dwarf.
@@kareningram6093 The tv is from the autopsy report ending which I dont think it shows who owns the house. But I agree, Tench is alive and is trying to communicate that
@@TrianglePants actually, the biggest shipper award would have to go to the MHA community... hehehheheheh... But yea I can totally see Amazon just ABUSING all that empty space for easy marketing.
This is EXACTLY like when Mat was trying to explain how children were stuffed into robot suits by a guy in purple cloths just by looking at a game that just looks threw cameras and looking left and right. He is THE grandpa of RU-vid.
Matpat, at 46:50 the sound of the TV in the background was the same sound as the TV going through all the quick images in Autopsy Report video, what it means remains to be discovered but in case that wasn't put together yet, that's what that is..
since kanes video ended with a phone ringing, i just wanna point out that a phone was also ringing at 11:40 in matpats video, 3:03 in kanes. probably not connected but in case it is, i wanted to point that out.
I'm so surprised that matpat or gtlive in general doesn't have a premium account or that creators aren't given that and he still has to deal with watching ads on videos he watches.
Even premium has ads sometimes, from what I understand. But I'm sure matpat knows what adblock is, he just doesn't use it on his streams and gtnotlive's because he's supporting the creators that he's watching.
Given you can hear ash go "Matt, PLEASE log in", then later we hear him say "Next time we're definitely gonna log in", I'm gonna say he has one. odd that you'd assume he doesn't have one when they address it in the video.
@@LoreCatan ive been using premium since its launch. i dont get any ads on mobile/smart TV. i dont usually use web but i havent encountered ads on there either!
@@LoreCatan Premium doesn’t have ad breaks. Obviously if the creator has them integrated into the video itself Premium can’t do anything about it. And there’s an ongoing bug involving Chromecast. But otherwise, no ads.
My brother tried Grammely one time but in order to actually use more of its features, you have to pay. Like mobile games, if you want something to go to the next level you have to pay to continue.
46:57 the audio in the background connects with the video from Autopsy Report Edit: if you watch autopsy report at the end you can also hear the phone in the background ringing and the TV broadcasting a sunset as time skipped, causing the phone to stop ringing.
what actully happens is peter tench doesnt die and is still alive and runs away to a town where he then calls his family house thats what the phone call at the end is and why we see him in a town
I thought Mat was joking about the spandex Jazzercise at 41:00 but then when the same picture in a yellow shade came up a few frames later I realized he really couldn't see the hazmat suit.
26:57 I think what the person is refrencing here is actually the plans in "Presentation". There's a quote there that reads "...[Allowing] cargo and personnel to seamlessly pass through their designated threshold..." meaning the plan was for more than 1 "Threshold" to be created.
25:50 It says Tench LET GO of the idea he could ever escape. Matpat said he was confused about why he would think he could leave somehow when he didn't lol.
Teach is definitely not dead. In those photos at the end of the person running, is Tench. They are telling everyone he is dead to not cause panic. No body!
Gotta love how he’s invested enough in his theory to the point where, even when presented an at least mostly accurate account of events, he still sticks to his story of “evil corporate man in suit murders innocent man.”
@@wrath4452 Yeah, I'm more meaning the fact that the games give alot of things that point away from many of Matpat's theories, but he often still sticks with them and tries to build on them, leading him to often arrive at stalemates.
@@saphirestorm7952 Nature of human psychology, once we draw a conclusion we will keep looking for support to it and tend to avoid focusing on contrary evidence to said conclusion. You have to either work in a group with people who have other conclusions and/or constantly fight that tendency.
The time loop thing seems to be almost moving because the music stops for a second the phone stops ringing almost like the time thingy changed rooms, also when the time thing loop whatever gets Peter, the camera doesn’t flash but the glitch looking thing goes across the screen and through the hallway instead of just happening and making the camera flash
I know I am a bit late, but Mat Pat, have you ever realized that the bacteria monster in Kanes "Found Footage" video with the photographer, It can speak. If you listen closely, you can here it saying "Wait" and "come back please!" Yea, you might want to put tad bit of time into that.
@34:00 when you start talking about nautical themes associated with the Backrooms, I immediately thought of the movie "Dark City". I've always thought that the Backrooms are some kind of living entity which is projecting a portion of itself into our reality/dimension and that it takes on familiar, if distorted, environments in order to trap and feed itself (and it's internal bacteria, viruses, etc. / AKA "The Monsters").
Hey Matt Pat I got a theory for you about the portals that you were suggesting: What I think the portals are is that there's two types. The names that'll be is the Khloe Green portals in the invisible portals. The green portals send you back in time, or back in time, in the back rooms, or back in time, and then into real life, or as reality is the backrooms can get. Now, for the invisible portals, the invisible portals send you forward in time. That is something to think about. Now you may be saying, Now there is one lesson known to when the median. I think that it's a chance for them to happen, because I think the jumps in time are. Basically alternate thresholds. But They don't lead you back into real life besides the green portals that sometimes lead you back in the real life, judging by one of your other theories. So my epic point. Is that there's two different types of portals. Now, the voices in the informational video. I don't have a theory on yet, but my best guess of what they are is what you said in your second or third theory, where they're coming through the walls from like a office party, et cetera, So if you see this theory map pack, I think you will help a lot in your next big Video of the back rooms. (If there is grammar problems, I'm sorry)
47:13 Am I dumb? I feel like this last minute is just showing that Peter is in fact still alive, fleeing Async, and is trying to call his wife/home to let them know he's still alive. No supernatural mumbo jumbo, just a man trying to let his family know he's still alive, and that Async can't be trusted.
25:37 - He thought the facility he was in after returning, which looked different from his memories, was an illusion made by the Complex and that he had to return there find another way back to _his_ "real world". 29:35 - *_How_* do you not have security up top?
