But I totally loved Chris's vocals, his words, the story and the message behind this beautiful sad song ❤️

In the midst of a reunion of sorts with people mingling and partying, I heard this song a week ago. Asked the host to tell me what the song was and he texted the title and author to me. I did not even hear the words clearly. It was just the emotion and the music that struck me. Just now got around to hearing the various renditions, live and produced. This led me to the two of you. Thank you for the honest and heartfelt evaluation. Your insight and analysis was indeed inspired. As a casual observer of humanity, the two of you are blessed with a maturity and balance that is uncommon in our present world. Peace. ☮️

I've watched this video dozens of times, and I cry every time.

Chris was the bartender at the opening of the video. This could have been turned into a full length movie with him writing the soundtrack. He’s an awesome songwriter, storyteller and singer💜

Never be afraid of showing your emotions, it is a sign of strength rather than weakness. Chris is in the video though you might not have noticed him. He is the bar tender who served the drinks. Chris doesn't do music videos. His record label kept asking him till he agreed but only under some non-negotiable conditions. One, that he not appear in it singing or performing. Two, that he got to help choosing the actors and the production of it. Three, that he chooses the topic and writes the song. The result was Fire Away, a song about something he cares about, depression and suicide.

I been a fan of Chris stapleton for a little while now and idk why i haven't come across this song before now.. This hit like a fridge to the face. I was not expecting that right now. Music can be so powerful and can make you feel something in seconds.. Its a beautiful thing.. This is a beautiful song but I cry every time. It's sucks when you love a woman and there's nothing you can do to make her feel good. You can't make her believe in herself, you can't show her how much you need her. If she doesn't need her you will lose her and it's the most heart breaking thing that will ever happen. Because you try to fool yourself like you could have stopped it somehow,but you can't. God love these lost souls and please let them know they were loved here on earth even if they didn't know.

This video always hits me hard because it reminds me of my wife and all the amazing memories of her and love we had she had the most amazing smile that i miss so much. But at the same time she also mirrored all the same struggles shown in this video and I had alot of the same experiences portrayed in this aswell. She found me when i was at my worst and pulled me out of the depths of hell and she saved me and I tried so hard to save her but in the end I failed and for that ill never forgive myself. She was only 31 years old the world was so much briter with her in it, the gods made a mistake they should have taken me not her so now It just leaves me waiting for my turn for tomorrow not to come for the chance to hold her again. I miss her so fucking bad every second of every day. My wife suffered from maniac depression. It is a gut wrenching thing to see the one you love going through it and you can’t do anything to really help them. Never feel bad for showing your feelings through crying, it means you are human. Love your reaction.

Thank you for having an honest emotion, that any human with empathy should feel. We dont seem to have much of that in our society anymore. Listen to Maggies song, about Chris's real life dog, and starting over. Chris replied back to me after I told him about the death of my son, and how he liked this song. I dont know of any artists that would do that today. This man is the real deal. Thank God for him.

I broke down on this video. I am bipolar, 2 x stroke survivor. Former dispatcher and husband was LEO. He has found me several times inches from death. The battle in our brains is Neverending swirls of confusion, despair, self hatred and so much more.

I myself was in a very dark place when I met my future wife. We have been married almost 30 years now. She pulled me back and showed me a light. I really cannot describe it that more simple. Yet we have to always be aware the dark is still there.

This is the only music video he has ever done. He said he wanted to make one that counted and told about depression and bi polar. You can never completely help those with depression and bi polar. Only by taking your meds will you keep it on a even field sometimes that is a bumpy road. If you dont cry on this one you have no empathy for people. I cry every time i watch it.
