It's an embarrassment that Bethesda is as huge as it is, and yet after Fallout 4 ALL THEY'VE BEEN ABLE TO DO is 76 and Starfield. A company that large couldve made TESVI in like 5 years tops. Skyrim was done with like 100 people what the hell

Making a better version of Skyrim isn't profitable enough.
@theantil7
@theantil7 6 месяцев назад
@@webcamrandomness14 modders have outpaced Starfield. Modded Skyrim > Starfield. Bethesda has to make TESVI better than the modding community can make TESV, and it's not gonna happen.

fallout 76 is actually fire though compared to starfield

@@Gausdave213I never bothered since apparently FO4 > 76. But even based off your comment, you agree it's going downhill. The modding community is the goat. We don't need games we just need game engines.

@@theantil7 yeah I definitely agree. Fallout 76 has the best atmosphere and worldbuilding in all fallout games though, that’s probably the main thing about the game

If they cant make elder scrolls 6, at least a remake of skyrim 5 on a new engine that has better mod support, coop for at least a duo, longside with physics/graphical enhancements would be really good and welcomed by most people I think
@libaedunto4875

I'm afraid it would still be 'skyrim again'. Skyrim SE is good enough for modding support imo
@zerohour980
@zerohour980 6 месяцев назад
@@libaedunto4875 its good but there are many things its getting too old for compared to modern games, starting with the character movement, look at games like hogwarts legacy, or the new resident evil games, or gta even thats barely younger than skyrim, the character movements and animations are way more on point and thats something that modding cant and wont fix cause its the core of the game
@adamgarlow5347
@adamgarlow5347 6 месяцев назад
@@zerohour980 most of the character movement and mechanics can be solved with mods, but they are challenging with Linux gaming and have much more limited availability for console. To their credit, Nvidia has somewhat predicted that we won't be getting ES6 type games to drive sales of graphics cards and has spent effort developing AI tools to make old games look brand new without downloading mods and slowing the game down. I think they're calling it rtx remix. That's pretty much the only "new" version of these we're getting
@zerohour980
@zerohour980 6 месяцев назад
@@adamgarlow5347 idk if you are new to modding but there is a limit to how much u can change the game engine in terms of scripts and mechanics, as far as im aware nobody has changed the game mechanics from the core to avoid so much scripting from mods, so the more scripts you keep adding to your game the worse it runs, on pc this wont be a problem, but for consoles this will be limited, so modders will never be focusing on these type of mods cause most people will not be able to run them, even more considering that even graphical and animation mods come with scripts and take a lot of space on esp loaders which is limited to 255 only.

Lets say they make it and not only is it a fantastic story with a beautiful massive world, but they go the many easy extra miles and add in all the mod resources like ENBseries, FNIS, SKSE, etc so that modding is easier, never broken by updates, and more compatible with Linux/steamdeck. Lets even say they voice all the lines but also add an AI voice for making mods more immersive (i.e. finishing their game for them). Maybe they even make it totally offline DRM-less and all future DLC are included in the base price. If they did all those good guy little things, they could justifiably charge upwards of $250 for that ES6 and I would pay it. We have to face reality that they have to pay their employees that also live in a costly over inflated world and if it is made like a Skyrim, that could have 10+ years of replay-ability especially factoring in mods. EVEN IF they charged that much, that's still less than a year and a half of ESO (or closer to two with 12 month plans at $140/12mo). They have tasted recurring revenue and players are hooked with limited time seasonal content. A true successor to ES5 Skyrim will NEVER be made because the bean counters won't ever ever let them. They cannot charge a price that both a) is palatable to the customers and b) is anywhere near what they make from ESO.
@mistrace
@mistrace 6 месяцев назад
$250 USD would make that $400 NZD for me, no way could I justify that price for a game. However, I would pay upto $120 USD for a perfect TES6.
@adamgarlow5347
@adamgarlow5347 6 месяцев назад
@@mistrace I agree , it's a lot but the main point is that even at such a high price, it can't match even a short time of ESO recurring revenue.

They won't be able to beat Skrim with the current mods. New games need to appeal to too many people / corporate numbers....and are mostly copy and paste boring quests witth no soul or meaning / feeling.
@mikecobalt7005
@mikecobalt7005 6 месяцев назад
:) They *Can't beat Skyrim and they know that. A modern Skyrim with the mods that player chose is impossible to supersede. First Beth was in a dire situation so they put everything they had into Morrowind, It was a superhit (uncommon), then riding on that Bethesda makes Oblivion, that was *Another big hit (how often is part two is ever considered equal to #1, rare). Next Skyrim comes, an even bigger hit, 3X's and bigger with each one (rarer than ice cubes in H**l). Now Bethesda/ Todd Howard has to come up with a fourth that is *At least equal to Skyrim with all the mods that player has chosen over a decades time of playing. That challenge in itself is too much and add to that Bethesda's history since Skyrim seems to have fallen quite far.

We need a real RPG again. Like Daggerfall or Morrowind. Pick your main skills with a deep character creation. All your other skills suck. You have to play your character as you designed it. Also, if we could have 21st century procedural dungeons, that would make replayability huge. In Skyrim, I don't wanna do the same linear guild quests. Give me a rat infested farm. A family graveyard with skeletons resurrected by a rogue necromancer. A protection mission where the person under my protection panics and attacks me - but I can't attack him. Infinite dungeons with magical artifacts. Orcs invading a town. A mad scientist builds a mechanical dragon to plunder a town and frames a friendly dragon. I have to clear his name. A family's livestock are being slaughtered by [vampires, wereboars, orcs, tigers, daedra].

Skyrim was the worst Elder Scrolls game by far. Most boring skills, most boring gear, most boring spells, most boring quests. And the DragonBorn powers were hilariously awful. The game fucking sucked. Morrowind and Oblivion were so much better.

Nah bruv Skyrim was insane let’s be honest
@ItsChrisFtw
@ItsChrisFtw 6 месяцев назад
@@lesliechow9238 There was nothing insane about Skyrim imo. Morrowind's adventure and exploration remains unmatched. Pieces of incredibly rare and unique items hidden all over the map, 50ft underwater in a hidden cave. The quests had amazing depth, lore, and meaning. Spells like levitation. More skills to learn. Cooler summons for conjuration, cooler NPC's. The skill progression going from level 1, where you actually felt like level 1 and struggled to do anything, to becoming a demi-god by the end of the play-through. It was so immersive. Oblivion literally had you doing shit like jumping into a painting on the wall; taking you to a different realm of existence fighting wild mythical creatures. Skyrim had you 5 levels deep in the same dungeons repeatedly, solving completely stupid puzzles, only to get to the end to open a "master chest" of randomly generated garbage loot. The best armor in Skyrim you basically craft yourself. There wasn't a single unique piece that beat the crafted armor. I can't think of a single strong suit that Skyrim had that was better than Morrowind or Oblivion. It was so lame.

@@lesliechow9238 Skyrim was amazing when it was my first action RPG, but after playing Oblivion (even that has waned on me) and Morrowind, Skyrim feels like a skeleton compared to them. It looks better for sure, and I spent 1000's of hours on it. But most of those hours were with mods...

BGS will be made irrelevant by OpenMW and indie devs riffing off from Fallout and the contradictions in ES... at least I would hope so. We don't need AAA dogshit to push gaming in the directions it needs for it to take off in advancing the art the way Obsidian did with New Vegas.
