@vgamesx1

I agree it's kinda funny but to be fair there aren't a lot of alternatives for easy to remove/temporary adhesives, there's tape which is also plastic, Elmer's glue which is made of PVA (yet another thermoplastic), a few sprays and there are several types of putty adhesives such as Blu Tac. There's probably a few I'm unaware of but you get the idea, most of the weaker and common glues are made from a plastic.

Now that you’ve shown the problem, can you do a video walking through how to put solutions to it into practice? I think its especially helpful to see social-related things, such as refusing straws and asking to have your food/drinks in your own container, because people can often feel weird about doing it (including me)
@alexandreasamuels5716
@alexandreasamuels5716 4 года назад
So...the solution to the problem is not to use plastic only once, use them like we use plastic tuperweare containers. Over and over again until they can't be used anymore. We could even you then for something else. Reduce Reuse Recycle ♻️. At my school in London we have the opportunity to make sleeping mats for the homeless out of milk bags 🥛🐄 .

I suggest everyone do a personal waste audit to see the most problematic items. Then you make a list of priorities and think of ways of reducing. Getting the same food items in the largest size possible or bringing your own sandwich instead of buying one. Bring a Tupperware for your leftovers when eating out, make your own cleaning products etc. The list is endless. Be creative and try to get a bit better every day. Good luck.

Although I didn't ask my students to wear their plastic, I did a similar project with my second graders last year. The entire school had a week long project about the environment and sustainability, and as part of that we asked all students and staff members to collect all their plastic in bins for a week and at the end of the week my students made a huge mural out of all the plastic to show everyone how much plastic we collectively use in a single week without even realising it.

I love when Mitch asked “should we ban plastic?” because I think there’s a lot of misconceptions about that. For one, banning plastic doesn’t get rid of the waste. It’s still there. There’s also the idea that a lot of waste in the ocean comes from less developed countries (less that 1% is from the U.S.). Paper products also take up more space and are more expensive to ship, so why are we just switching to paper instead of trying to fix the actual problem?

I loved the old whiteboard videos and I hope they never go away, but I also really liked this video and i appreciate that you used the old whiteboard teaching style from your older videos throughout this video. I would not mind seeing more video like this. I also really like the interview part that was very informative.
