I agree with the HRF, with a few exceptions. I know a modicum about firearms, some of the round types that some of these rifles can chamber is completely wrong, but given the game takes place sometime in the future, maybe the early 22nd century, im gonna let it slide. I don't have a problem with the 36M, the NTW-20 I do, the 20 in it's name stands for 20mm, so that should be another 20mm HRF, it uses the 20x82mm round which is shorter than the one the 36M uses but still it's a fuckin' 20mm, it'll still turn you into a red mist. The SCAR if it's chambered in .50 beowulf, could use maybe like a 50 to 100 point damage increase bringing it to 300, however, if it's .50 browning? Jump that shit up to 400 or 500, cause a .50 BMG round can rip you in half if you get shot in the waist with it. The GM6, it's chambered in .50 browning, so like high damage but IRL it's used as an anti materiel rifle designed to take out light armored vehicles and sometimes people. (while i'm making this comment I might as well...) on the topic of SMGs, the ppsh-41 should be chambered in 7.62x25 tokarev but given it's not in the game and takes place in the future, whatever, gonna let it slide. The VKS, if it's chambered in 12.7x55, it should do waaaayyy more damage, 200 to 250 at least, cause that 5 round magazine with no upgrades is brutal.
Yeah a lot of the round / weapon choices in the game feel a bit weird / placeholdery. If the SCAR wasn't in beowulf and was actually in browning it would need to be giant also. I do hope we don't get too crazy with the amount of different amunition in the game (like 7.62 tokarev), but thats just an opinion naturally.
Ironically the performance of the NTW-20 is perfectly suited to it being 20mm but for some strange reason they gave it the wrong ammo. wtf? And the SCAR being .50 cal is bizarre. Definitely should be Beowulf not BMG.
I don't think the devs know how shotguns work. For a 12-gauge shotgun shell to hold 20 pellets, either it's going to be a 2-3/4" with #4 buckshot, or a 3" with #2 buckshot, the former of which is practically unheard of. While individually each pellet of #4 buckshot has roughly a 1/4 the energy of a 9mm, while each #2 pellet would have roughly 1/3 that energy. And like most devs, they really need to differentiate between .50 calibers, because there's a massive energy difference between BMG and Beowulf, 6x in fact.
RPK is more accurate than AK from my tests, and damage profile is much better. Tier list is very WIP in my eyes, acquiring guns, their price when bought and when you sell them make a difference, also how easy they are to farm. You can take a destroyed weapon on gun rig to make it "disabled" (sometimes you can find those dropping from enemies too) and when you return from the mission they will become fully functional. Scrapyard is best map for gun-farming and gun-restoration. There is even an exploit (at least was a week ago) where you can turn one gun to 3 and really farm them, but I won't share how it works. I tried to flood the donation box but no one picked up Grenade Launchers or AA12 from me...dunno how this system works, i though other players can get those even if they don't play with you as a host. Restoration of weapons also don't work for M16... because of game glitches, and it will get dropped and unpickable.
You gotta put M79 at A tier. Its the only option light classes have for heavy enemies. Except shotguns which means getting close and begging to get killed.
If it wasn't for the autoshotguns currently I'd rank it much higher. There's not really a lot of content behind exos / vehicles right now outside of the pilot quest but I can definitely see the case if that was to change.
For the love of god why are shotguns effective against things you need explosive for? I'm not sure what the devs think armour does but I guarantee it works on pellets better than HE rounds.
@@DGneoseeker1 There just aren't any armor mechanics at all. Armored enemies just have large health pools. Shotguns put out a lot of raw damage. That will probably change eventually.
Vector looks like an integrated suppressor of you're not overly familiar with the real steel platform. The model seems to be based on the civilian Vector CRB sporting the MK1 modular rail. The CRB has an ellongated barrel shroud that is permanently attached to the existing pistol length barrel to get around SBR laws.
You hate the pistols, but they are really good if you ask me,cus they pull almost no agro when equiped,I had old man running any high damage high volum gun you want, have that out and the enemy attack you fairly easely, if you run around with the pistol out nobodey cares about you. If you are doing quick runs for spesific resorces, not waisting time figthing is a great reason to bring the USP with a silencer.
If you also have good standing you can practically walk right up to them and they will slowly build up agro if you stay there,or you could just run straight thru a large groupe and most of the time not pull aggro, or at least that was the case last I played about a week ago.
Because of how badly the pistols preform in general, they're effectively running an empty weapon slot. That lack of aggro is useful, so they do have a role. But oh boy they're just not very useful in a fight. (Holy god the arbitrary tiny range and extreme damage fall off!)
i think you messed something up... unless it's got to do with datamining, my AK does over 200 damage according to the game, you can swap out both the gas tube and the barrel (gas tube e and barrel c) which nets me 202.8 damage. same thing for the m4, it too can do both of these changes (m4a1 gas tube c and m4a1 barrel c) and gets me to 202.8 points of damage it's worth noting that besides the rpk, which i think even levels up along with the AK and uses the same parts for the most part, no other gun has this damage upgrade from the gas tube as much as the ak and m4 do.
Yeah, I think it would be worth a note about how there are a few weapons that massively increase their usefulness once you get upgraded parts for them.
The GM6 is a straight upgrade over the NTW since I get to pick what optic I want on it, and any more than the 2x acog is overkill for how small the maps are.
Yeah that's very fair, I try and mention it a few times but the NWT and GM6 are very comparable and the low ranking is really just how clunky it feels to me when it has what feels like an artifical limit on its rate of fire. I personally love the feel of the NWT (which is why I rank it so high) but I can definitely undersand this viewpoint.
23:18 the VKS as it sits in the game can’t be anything other than a set of place holder stats for an unfinished weapon without its extended mag mod. It’s basically the russian Ash12, the whole point of that gun and it’s cartridge is that it’s built to be silenced. while you “can” silence a super sonic round the sonic boom is incredibly loud. So when you can’t add speed to a bullet to make it hit harder, you add mass. 12.7x55 is basically a massive pistol cartridge so imo it should be doing at least 300 damage or more. I’ll spare you my thoughts on how raw this alpha build is. Because I LOVE the potential of this Aggro system and setting since the day I heard about it months ago. Mark my words, in the future the VKS will be desirable because it’s sub-sonic with an incredibly low muzzle report, a great Hushpuppy. Because I’m sure they will change how silencers work to something with various levels of effectiveness. In hindsight me and my cousin not realizing we could already have bought suppressors since we got aramaki until we unlocked the bag vendor was the best mistake ever it kept stealth fun. Silencers basically just 100% mute guns ATM. As it sits RN I can mow down a squad of EOD’s with my supersonic RPK while standing 5 feet from enemies.
The VKS is its own 12.7 sniper unrelated to the ASH 12, but yeah, I agree it feels woefully underdone and has to be in a placeholder state. Also having an actual ASH 12 would be nice.
I'm right there with you. It should be the perfect tool for lighter, stealthier scavs on HVT missions who prefer the ranged approach. I'm getting comfortable with it now because I believe the devs are on the same page with you and it will one day be glorious.
Yeah, I didn't generally include all of the slight damage mods for every weapon. the video would have been untennable otherwise with how many mods there are for every weapon (especially in the rifle section)
I know you got enough people disagreeing with your placement of the GM6 already (which i also disagree with, the GM6 is a straight upgrade to the NWT-20 despite it being misrepresented in-game as just another NTW-20 with customization options), but i gotta say that, even though this is on the "personal opinion, love/hate" section, arguing that the "GM6's aesthetics do not match the setting" is also wrong. This is not a Cold-War era game and you can't say that the GM6 made in the 1990's "doesn't fit" when you got the Kriss Vector from 2006, or the XM-25 from the 2010's , both of which have that "pretentious future weapon" look on them, just because you got WW2 relics and "last ditch" stamped metal guns in the game that doesn't mean that's what "defines the setting". It is in fact that clash of technological periods what the devs are clearly invested in, given the variety of weaponry and disparity of the faction's own units and different doctrines, at that point it just felt like you're slandering the GM6 for the sake of it. Good summary otherwise tho, besides a couple nitpicks like the GM6, USP's suppressor, and the AK doing more damage than listed here with all upgrades (unless they are bugged in-game), it was pretty on-point.
Currently progression is pretty fast and I feel like It wasn't too hard amassing a wealth of guns, money, and water so the guns that can't be modified feel pretty useless. It would be cool if they make those unlockable as default weapons as they add more updates that increase the difficulty of the game or slow down progression
Fun little bit of info for anyone worried about farming weapon xp for weapon upgrades. You can find weapon parts in certain crates as I'm sure most of you know but enemies using that weapon also carry upgrades. It might take a couple to find the upgrade you want but I've found most of my ak and scar upgrade off of infantry units.
You did not take into account WEIGHT of weapons... GM6 does not belong to D tier, it weights 3 times less than NWT-20, around 10kg if I remember correctly, while NWS-20 weight 34kg, while Anti-Tank weight 54kg. You think this have no effects on your encumbrance and sprint speed? And what with that firing speed, if it's the same as NWT-20, make up your mind. P9 Pro is good, easy to get, and I mowed down HK with it no problem, great silenced weapon to take as a backup without worry you might lose it and already ready to be upgraded from the get-go... also 9mm weight nothing. Does it really lack mag upgrade though, I thought I've seen one. While other SMG's might use better ammo damage wise, 9mm weight NOTHING, you can take 500-1000 rounds without a problem. And putting G36 C tier is also something I can't support, it's a very accurate weapon and surprisingly easy to get. Lastly, M79 grenade launcher being thrown out the window with whole Pistol cat. Is a mistake, this is a great weapon...easy to get from a quest and not such a pain to lose... those 6round grenade launchers are best to be sold. GM6 in D tier ...lol, that's my fav gun... a NWT-20 that is 3 times lighter.
You're right. I don't take into account the weight of the weapons. If I felt weight had more impact I would have discussed it more but I genuinely do not notice it. If you do that's certainly fair. For the GM6 its not that its literally bad when compared to the NWT (and I try and mention that), its more just that the design of the gun and its current implementation in the game feels like a massive disconnect for me. Its rate of fire feels artificially limitated that it just puts me off the weapon entirely. It's because it feels so similar to the NWT when it shouldn't (once again I haven't really noticed the weight when playing) that I ranked it so low, but really if you prefer the GM6 there's nothing wrong with that. APC9 Pro in a sidearm state is fine? but I think there a much better options that fufill that role like a PP-19 (once again this arguement could be moot if this is an arguement about weight). Personally I find 9mm and low capacity magazines don't go well together, and that can easily change if it ever gets a better mag (it really is the mag that's holding it severely back.) G36 is a solid option, but its just not as good as the options above it for the reasons stated in the reason. Just because something is in a particular tier doesn't make it worthless, its just relative to its peers (and Im sure you could agree with is entirely subjective in some instasnces like the GM6). The M79 is a good weapon for classes that don't have access to the GL, but even then I think they have better current options (and that GL is generally overkill unless you're farming pilots). Never do I say the M79 is bad, just that in the pistol category it's behind the actual best pistol(imo) and not a stop gap for classes that don't have weapon with a 40mm HE. All of that aside I do appreciate the solid comment and while we may not see exactly eye to eye I do enjoy reading this different perspective.
i agree on the weight not being taken into calculation, but the apc 9 pro being good? nah, the glock does a better job then that, and yes, there's no mag upgrade for it. the accuracy of most weapons doesn't mean much when the same caliber (looking at the g36 comment) M4 is straight up better and more customizable. now dont get me wrong, i'd love for the g36 to have a similar suite of upgrades, but it simply doesn't, and no matter how you feel about it, technically, M4 is just better, i found that out the hard way when i wanted the barrel B for my m16 and leveled it up to 20 and never got that part (it'll probably come, but it's not in the game as of this moment in time). as for the m79, yes it's the only option lighter classes get for grenade launchers... but shotguns do it better (for single target), and literally have the same argument for ammo that you give the 9mm props for, buckshot vs grenade you can take much more ammo for shotguns and with that do much more damage in the long run with how strong shotguns are right now.
Yeah, Kind of with u on some of the stuff ur saying. I didnt particularly agree with some of the tier placement either. Like the ACP9 Pro being D tier over mag count??? The only drawback of this weapon is the 20 round mag, which I never really felt like that was a HUGE thing to begin with when u take into the account the characters utilizing SMGs. Like, bro rated the WLT above this somehow based on appearance only for the most part lol. Would literally never take the WLT over the ACP9. If ur using an SMG, ur more than likely playing a character who specializes in low health, higher movement, restricted weight/rig use, and whos more reliant on stealth. Better damage and higher mag count is pretty redundant if u cant use it without alerting everything in the immediate vicinity. Also considering u can fully deck the APC9 out immediately without leveling, silencer especially? Huge benefit over some of the other SMG choices, enough that a 20 round mag isnt hindering in comparison. I guess the 30 round mag on the WLT is important though, cause when u fire that mfer to kill a random rushing cyborg and like 10 enemies u didn't know where nearby start rushing u? Ur gonna be glad for not having to reload as much...u know...as opposed to a 2-3 round silent headshot burst that didnt alert anything 😂
Gotta say I'm pretty much in agreement with your assessment here except that the m79 should be in the S-class category since it can make anyone into an exo-killer(going ham with the AA12 at close range isn't always doable). The reload isn't a big deal if you use it like a bolt action. Also you seem to be one of the only people doing deep dives into this game atm. Nice vid.
it'd be cool if there where weapons like flares to attract enemies to positions or single use weapons like artillery/airstrike targeters that would have to be looted from certain destroyed vehicles
Surely the SCAR has to be some kind of weird placeholder. It should be firing something closer to .50 Beowulf even if it has been modified to .50 Calibre. .50 BMG is ridiculous and the damage it does is clearly not suitable for 0.50 BMG.
Apparently some guns are bugged so you can find them but not bring them into your storage but you can put them on the 3 find weapon slots its like a sniper wood stock and fancy boss looking sniper you find but can’t fix. Heads up
Thank you so much for doing this video. I'm a gun nut especially when it comes to guns and video games and I specifically look for my favorites and games. Many of the "old world war" weapons including the M60 and the like are my favorites damn shame about the c96 though. That's my favorite foreign pistol. I guess something to talk to the dev's about upgrade the c96 I really do like how they modernized it though I thought it would have its old shape. I was wrong ☹️🙂
Unironically there's probably some ingame lore explaining why the guns and ammo feels so shit. Literal AI Factories just being stupid after 30 long years of churning out ammo and guns like their architect AI counterparts. Though I do have to say that maybe the customization option needs to open up a bit more, like optic restriction has got to be a shit point of gun customization and hope they rebalance alot of the guns.
Almost all weapons have rails to mount optics or whatever else you want. There's no reason for so many weapons in this game to not have options for optics, suppressors, and other attachments. Weapon skill should play no part in "unlocking" them. That should be based purely on faction standing, item rarity, cost, and mission reward, in order to limit access. Weapon skill should mainly affect reload speed, with a small recoil recovery, and accuracy boost. Lasers should give you a red dot for hip shooting. Some variable power scopes would be nice and same thing for the flashlight. Holy moly that things bright.
For whatever reason they changed the M16 and took away it's ability to use a suppressor. Now there's almost no reason to use it in game besides to save on weight. It is, after all, the lightest rifle in the game. There are SMGs that weigh more.
I get that it’s a sci-fi, but they got the R8 all wrong. I own one and out of the box it can mount and optic and light. However, it can’t mount a silencer. There are very few revolvers that can utilize a silencer due to lacking a threaded barrel and cylinder gap.
I got lucky and found a 100 round mag for the AK/RPK in one of my first few raids. Got an RPK soon after. Haven't used anthing other as my main gun since.
Pretty sure the donation-only weapons drop from Euruskan troops. I think I got a pm-9 from a group of Euruskan riders, but a group of Grinns decided to paint the wall with my guts.
That's good to know!. I tried for several hours of grinding Enclave to try and get the Vepr-12 and PM-9 to drop from either mobs or boxes so I could never verify some of these items, so all I could verify at the time is the donation box method.
Bruh ventilated "c96" is basically lifted from a Warface fantasy design. 9mm M712 has 20 round detachable mags and is semi and full auto. If they wanna keep it a 10 rounder at least make it a flat bottom in 7.63 and give it better range or pen. About same round as PPSH IRL
Is this game worth buying as a solo player? ik i wont be able to convince any of my friends to get it. I love the art style/graphics/premis but im not a fan of extraction games but i do love fps. Idk
They way they have balanced guns in this game is so weird. You would think if they are going to ignore any balistics they would at least be balanced better,
weapon damage is not good, a weapon with the same damage will not do the same damage on another weapon with the damage figure. obvious example with 50 caliber bullets
Lost my shit at 28:54. It’s my baby. My favorite weapon in American history. It perfectly embodies all the virtues and flaws of America. Bulky, loud, cumbersome and intimidating, takes a lot of work to keep it running, eats through ammo, and wears out its parts a lot. Every time I see this weapon in a game, it’s automatically top priority to unlock it, and it becomes my default primary weapon immediately once I get my hands on it. ESPECIALLY if it’s the original Vietnam style like this, not one of those ugly lookin E6’s or whatever.
The usp can equip a silencer. I did played the first 5 hours with this pistol and it could have a sinlencer. Or the devs removed it in an update. I didnt play with the weapon for a week.
i must say, although rare, it is possible to find a vepr-12 from Elite Euruskan units. ive killed thousands and only found 2 destroyed, so it is possible to get it
