LMGs are more likely than not a thing, age of sail vibes be damned, but they're also more a thing for ground pounders than boarding parties even IRL. Big, chunky belt feds aren't exactly handy weapons for room clearing, which is effectively all that the interior of a spaceship or small station is, what you ideally want for that are compact carbines or submachineguns, possibly shotguns, more for specialty ammo than shot, or pistols if you're desperate, and so it follows that the contents of a ship's armory will likely be weighted more towards those sorts of guns than long range infantry weapons.
