Check out helmets and armor here: www.kultofathe... SLOW MOTION of our destruction of some helmets in different gauge of steel ! (These are all blowout helmets that were already damaged during shipments ! ) #armor #weapons #testing
@@pempotfoy6206 Yes, it would be like having a bucket being rang on your head. The strike could case an indent which could lead to having the indented metal hitting your head. If you were to strike the helmet on the top (especially if it's flat), it could break the user's neck.
Bear in mind that the majority of those mace strikes to the head would still cause concussion at the very least. No penetration required. All that force is being transferred straight to the brain.
@Alkis05 I sincerely doubt that enough force would be dissipated to avoid a severe brain injury, pal. That's what Maces were for. Blunt force trauma. The flanges focussed that force into smaller areas. I've taken a PAINTBALL to the head, and it stunned me a little while I was wearing a padded tank driver's balaclava. Being hit with a mace like that in the head, padding or not, is going to cause a problem.
@@JLongbow Then dodge or use a shield. Get close to the enemy to control the trajectory of his hand movements. Gradually transitions to a knife fight. Fighting with a fully armored enemy without arrows or muskets, we must not allow the enemy to have space to attack with full force. Switching back to knife fighting is always the preferred choice
i was pretty confident that the Corinthian would fail if attacked by a mace. at the time the corinthian helmet would not be facing against maces but spears and swords would be a more suitable test.
A weapon doesn't have to pierce or completely defeat armor. Even if a mace or warhammer strike barely dents a helmet, the concussive force could still momentarily stun the opponent or at least cause him to stagger a bit and maybe lose footing. Then it's stabby time through the joints.
Thats perfectly normal, weaksaus western play with 1 handed maces while there is the 70 inch full iron tetsuboo ready to shape the armor in whatever form you want
Where'd you find the guy in the undercut? I've seen him reviewing swords for you on RU-vid. He seems like a nice enough guy but jesus, his body mechanics are so weird. Is this some kind of Eastern martial art shit or something?
Hey thanks for checking out the videos. Yeah I train Kali Filipino Fencing. The shoulder slashing usually throws people for a loop. All proven blade fighting methods have more similarities than differences.
It's because the stuff they are testing on is complete garbage. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Ad5RJ3TeKSE.html The real stuff takes HEAVY abuse and keeps the wearer safe. If it isn't Hema approved it's basically just the armor equivalent of a wall hanger.
Why bother there dummy's and it makes no difference as you can't tell if it worked or not as maces don't physically damage gambison but just go through it
