Hey! Sorry my delayed reply! I think the main hubs are the safest places to wear lolita. I never really felt wearing lolita in Japan would put me in a risk of anything bad, but it does gather attention so be prepared for that. I think people in Harajuku are so used to seeing weird and extravagant fashion styles, so it doesn't attract as much attention there, but probably depends where you are. If you feel insecure, go with a friend or family member. I think it reduces the unwanted interactions quite a bit. I think going to Harajuku during the weekdays, around the time the shops open (I think its ~11 am?) is the least crowded time in Takeshita street and might be the best time to go through the main street in lolita, since it does take some space :) The back streets and Laforet should be fine any day of the week. My recommendation is to see the brand store locations before-hand and plan which stores you want to visit. If you're into gaming (pokemon store and nintendo store) are quite closely located to the Shibuya AP. Shibuya 109 is also worth checking out for brands such as Secret Honey and Axes Femme etc. They might have, depending on the collection, some lolita-fiable garments and accessories. Also Shinjuku closet child is quite difficult to find, but if you use google maps, the location is correct, you just need to find the right entrance, which is a bit tricky. There is a kind of corridor leading into the stairs/elevator, and it does say Closet Child on the wall and which floor it is located, so don't feel too afraid to check the ways leading into the buildings. I'd love to not be too much in the way in a petticoat haha. I'll have to look out for Closet Child! It is super close to where I am going to be staying actually.
