Maybe your skincare isn't effective, you don't reapply, your skin type isn't meant got what you're using, you're not using products to improve your skin but just basic skincare
Obviously she posts all the time about the variety of products she uses and I don’t think she claimed sunscreen did it all. She could also be using filters, I’m not an expert. And there are so many different factors- your unique genetics, the exact products used and entire routine, lifestyle/diet/health/age differences, etc. But considering sunscreen as just the final step in your AM skincare routine and wearing it consistently DOES make a difference, especially when you get into things like exfoliating acids, retinoids, etc.
Yes, but if you have a skin care routine with a lot of actives then you NEED sunscreen otherwise you’ll damage you’re skin. Retinol and acids must be used with sunscreen
Girl, that's not just sunscreen. That's the result of a consistent skin care routine (filled with nourishing ingredients and a good mix of surfactants, humectants, emollients, and occlusives) and of course...RETINOIDS! :)
Correct, I have worn sunscreen religious every day for 3 years. At the moment there is some small texture bumps on my forehead. I know that its due to not using the retinol regularly.
@@Beandal the retinol that I use is from Curology. In the evening every 3 days I apply a snail mucin serum first then the retinol cream. About 10 minutes later I apply a facial moisturizer lotion.
@@x-starlight-xpeople do things differently in their routines. Before discovering snail mucin serum I was applying retinol to my face after washing then putting on moisturizer. It was causing intense peeling. Snail mucin is hydrating without clogging pores, doesn't cause me irritation. Applying retinol directly on bare skin is good for mosquito bites, pimples, discoloration from scars.
Sunscreen is very very VERY important. Speaking as a daughter of skin cancer survivor father. Also saying this as a skincare blogger with a sound knowledge of skincare products and routine, you are simply raising people's expectations from sunscreen or that a sunscreen can do all of the issues you are showing (get rid of texture, flakyness). It's a combination of consistent and better quality of skincare, age and lifestyle. When I was a teen, I used to purchase cheap skincare products or things that were marketed as good by mass media without proper knowledge of ingredients. As I grew older, my hormones were better, my wallet got fatter for me to spend more money on skincare and with age came the wisdom to dig into skincare products and ingredients. But to put all the credit to one single thing would be silly. I really like you Sarah. I like the energy you exude but please don't lose your authenticity creating "clickbait" videos. I understand videos like this beat the algorithm because people get intrigued confused or like me, come here to comment and push your video up. I understand that's important as a content creator. But do be mindful. People expect more from you.

Having said that if your room is north facing, you probably don't face too much sunlight. In that case, you can get away without reapplying provided you are not staying too close to the windows

Partially true. You can't roll back past sun damage with just sun screen, you can only prevent more damage. But the premature aging that happens to your skin, and aging in general, DOES change the texture of your skin. So you're preserving your current skin texture.
The reason she looks so glowy is cyz she's a skincare influencer who uses expensive products, BUT I had this tiny pimples too and yes, they were cause by the sun. It may not look like a sunburn but your skin still got too much UV that it caused your skin cells to get damaged and flare up pimples/texture.
Yes she does. I have been using it too for about 3 months now(my doctor recommended it to me as I am suffering from pimples). And my skin has started looking better.
@@witchf4ce310 I have been prescribed to use it daily which I do during the night time. Initially, for the first 2-3 weeks, it caused redness, extreme dryness and more pimples. I thought that it wasn’t working. Lol. But now I can see how dramatically my skin is becoming clear.
You are most likely not wearing enough, or the SPF is too low, and you are then spending more time in the sun because you are under the illusion that you're protected. Tanning = skin damage.
Th That shouldn’t happen but if it is happening then it’s because either you use a sunscreen that’s not meant for your skin type or you go out into direct sunlight a lot without reapplying sunscreen
Thank you so much for motivating me to wear sunscreen.I just recently found out that sunscreen should be worn everyday no matter u r indoors or outdoors.I wish i had known this sooner so that is used it during my teens.
I asked my doctor about this. She said, unless you're exposed to the sun when indoors, you don't need sunscreen when you're inside. But if "inside" is like being in a greenhouse or there are tons of natural light to the point that it feels like it's semi-outdoor, then yes, wear that sunscreen.
I’m a guy and I’ve been putting on sunscreen every morning for the last 2 weeks just to see what would happen to my skin. I’ve broken out less and my skin looks way nicer. My acne spots are fading really fast too. I don’t do mush besides clean my face at night and in the morning if it feels oily and use a clay mask once a week.
Girl same. Startet wearing sunscreen this year everyday and my skin and makeup looks so much better. Of course do I have a really good skincare routine too but I swear sunscreen improved it even more.
This is actually true and it does happened to me back when I actually started using sunscreen in Uni, my skin went smoother. Long after that I actually started using a skincare routine and my skin is even much better now :)
I actually agree....but along with sunscreen, I also wash my face twice a day for one minute each and use a moisturizer with no scent....and sometimes I use natural rose water toner.....my skin has gotten so much better. I recently used a cream which did not suit my skin and I had small bumps all over my skin....with this routine of mine....I was actually able to overcome it....plus I had 2l of water everyday
hey I'm facing the same problem, it's only on my left cheek ( rest of my skin is clear and glowy ). I got clogged pores and they turn into pimples when they r about to go 😭 and now they left these marks. What should I do?? 😭 I still have a few bumps left

I must say, before applying anything on skin , one should consult dermatologist. Because I myself used sunscreen daily , different different serums for my acne and senstive skin. But it wasn't helping even a bit. Then finally I consulted dermatologist. He said "DO NOT APPLY ANYTHING ON YOUR FACE OTHER THAN ONE GEL I'M GIVING YOU". I followed it. And noe my skin is getting better.
Braah sunscreen leaves my skin soo greasy nd causes acne. However i use it but this result u showing is not from sunscreen alone. Alot skin care and maybe facials
This is so true. I visited skin doctor and got serious about sunscreen once I heard from the horse's mouth how important it is. Just 2 weeks of consistent and methodical application and I feel the change already.
Do t forget the ears neck and decolatage! I've worked in a nursing home with a lady who wore sunscreen on her face everyday for decades. Beautiful smooth even toned skin with just a few deep wrinkles where her smile and frown lines were. No sunspots or anything like that. Her neck and ears were a different case. Looked like she had painted her face because the rest of her was so marred and spotted and aged. Not to be unexpected though, she was 79!

same, i tried so many sunscreens from chemical, physical to mineral and they all claim to be non comedogenic but my skin just seem to hate sunscreen. lol like.. i want to wear sunscreen to help my red marks/pigmentation heal faster, not get new ones. 😭
I totally agree that sunscreen do changes the skin. I used to breakout a lot but since I have started using sunscreen from past 4 months I don't have a single acne or pimple. Also, sunscreen do helps in getting rid of the marks
@@chericherrylady if you're using sunscreen which has ninacinemide or hydrolic acid then 15-20 days but it also depends on how deep the Acne scarring was and how dark the scars are, but trust me once you start using sunscreen the skintone becomes even and after some time it will also start developing healthy glow

To other people in the comments who seem to disagree with her. *WEARING SUNSCREEN + SKINCARE ROUTINE = good or at least decent skin* I can stand by this. Of course, I get breakouts from time to time, because of stress or hormones. Overall, I have a bright and healthy looking skin. I have switched out wearing heavy makeup to lightweight tinted sunscreen or BB creams (aside from wearing sunscreen already). I have found the perfect skincare routine for MYSELF and sticked to a healthier lifestyle. What she does and I do have differences too. Remember, we have different skin types and conditions 🙄 You have to find what works for you. And if you have additional problems, it's best to consult with professionals.
I tried so hard to find one I like and I usually use the nude screen sunscreen but a better, cheaper option would be the cerave morning sunscreen. BUT STILL. I won’t lie, this exact thing happened to me ngl! My skincare routine was hella consistent even before using sunscreen but once I started using it, my skin got so much better! I had such bad acne and I realized that sun exposure makes it worse, my skin barrier was broken so it became super sensitive to UV. Once I started using sunscreen everything changed for me.
The new trader joes sunscreen is supposed to dupe for the super goop unseen sunscreen. I saw it reviewed on the channel Doctorly (two dermatologists)! Apparently its great!!
Now I have started wearing sunscreen religiously since I had noticed fine lines and dark spots... I must say it helps prevent future damage and also repair slowly the damage caused by uv rays.
I recommend that people do research on this topic because there seems to be a lot of confusion about how sunscreen affects the skin. It does brighten and even out the skin through the blockage of uv damage, but it can clog pores (ingredients like fragrance and extracts can irritate and sensitize the skin). Again, do research for yourself and your skin type if you want to see similar effects such as her. Note: the likelihood that her skin improved is plausible as by simply removing uv damage can really transform the skin.
Every foundation has sunscreen in it, and every moisturizer, because it not only blocks the damaging UV rays, but it has anti-aging, pore-shrinking and smoothing benefits as well.

I use sunscreen every daylight and have a lot of wrinkles because I am that type of person who express emotions with my face. So is not because of sunscreen
I wear sun cream every day and I can say is so good and makes your skin beautiful and is very helpful when I didn't had my skincare products and now I'm using it with my skincare products

sunscreen depending on the type can actually irritate your face further. yes, still use it but you need to properly wash it off after and have a skincare routine.
i used chemical sunscreen before and i got pimples from it . and now im using Mineral sunscreen and i still get pimples from it .... WTF Should i do !?!😆
Not only sunscreen is important,you need proper skin care..good facewash according to your skin, toner, serum, pimple cream, good exfoliation serum and sunscreen too ☺️
I have allergic reaction to sunscreens. It's so sad. Only some Korean BB creams with sunscreens are accepted by my skin. But I'm not sure, that they really works. 😶
Hi, ultra violette supreme sunscreen is a very nice chemical sunscreen. Same with Naked Sundays. If you react with chemical sunscreens, try using mineral ones. Naked Sundays mineral sunscreen has been very good for my.oily acne prone skin. All of those are Australian brands
I do concur that this isn’t just sunscreen. But I do find wearing sunscreen daily helps reduce inflammation from UV damage that would otherwise counteract some of the benefits I get from your other products. Also after years of daily sunscreen use, my face is finally the same tone as my neck and chest and pretty close in color to my scalp.
I wear sunscreen every time I go out and every time I go out I still get those bumps. The heat here in India doesn’t give a shitt to my 50 SPF, Broad Spectrum, UVA/UVB, PA+++ Sunscreen.
You need 100 spf sweetie. But even so, your melanin gives you more protection than this girl would have in India, lol. Neutrogena makes a great serum sunscreen.
She uses many korean sunscreens like the beauty of joseon and sunscreen is the last step of your skincare routine (make sure you reapply frequently even over makeup)

Well my very experienced and amazing cosmetologist actually is against using sunscreen on your face every day, especially if you live in northern / Central Europe (like I do). She’s Maroccan and has amazing hair and skin by the way! She believes that it is necessary to protect the skin when you’re out for a longer period of time, sporting, during spring/ Summer - yes. But not during our cold grey falls and winters in Germany.
Im glad to hear that. I live in Germany too and I stopped using sunscreen every day at least for the cold months now. And my skin texture has improved drastically these past few weeks.
What I wonder about is how people in other countries around the East of the world, have never worn sunscreen, but their skin has remained healthy? There are debates on sunscreen too
I don't think she said it's only sunscreen, but that it changed it. My skincare was the same, but starting to wear sunscreen changed it the same way. Sun creates lot of problems on your skin, not just cancer risk. It can even create deeper acne.
After every 2 hours. You can use Neutrogena Sheer Zinc. Yes sunscreen is expensive, but just stop eating fast food & invest that money in your good quality, effective skin care products. That would be a better choice to make.
I tried this, and here are the results----Sun Screen did help with my skin, but not like in the video. Theres just fewer breakouts. U need a skin routine i recomend a cleanser, moisturizer, and yes sunscreen.
