I just got a shock when you were looking at the vinyl records i noticed Elvis golden records .i have the original one from when it first came out.happy days remembering my teenage years when id spend most of my pocket money on a magazine just because it had a tiny picture of Elvis on page 69 only to cut it out and stick it on my bedroom wall.my Mum and Dad must have been hairless.pretty tops you have on and thanks for showing us Parker.🌷
Carolyn, Parker is so adorable and smart. You have settled him down and loved him into a wonderful little fur boy. Your home is so lovely too. Happy for you ! You deserve it!!! ❤
I love the rain guards I've put them on every car, van, truck we have had.I love being able to roll down the window just a little and it not blow air in my ear. and it helps with the sun a little bit.
Our dog goes nuts when she sees animals on TV. She charges across the room, barking her head off, stands on her hind legs so she can see over the TV stand. She even barks at cartoon animals. WTH??? LOL She has no interest in toys, but humps the heck out of a blanket that was our older dogs, who passed before we rescued her. She has chewed holes all over it. I don't know what she will do if we have to throw it away. Your van is really starting to come together. I have some bulletin board clips that have pins on the back that I have hooked in plastic baskets and hang clipped bills, rubber bands and things I need handy. I found them with office supplies. But, I think safety pin would work just as well. Just push them in the headliner and hook the lights thru them. Can't wait to see them lite up! They will be so pretty! HUGS~Donna
Thanks for posting this! I’m about to buy some, and it never occurred to me about the plastic. When I had my car in for repairs yesterday ask the mechanic if they could install them for me and they insisted it was so easy I can do it myself. I’m glad I watched your video, because now I’m sure I can ❤️
Ohhhh wow!! You are the most creative!! I really have to get these rain guards for my car. When I'm driving my 4 dogs somewhere they love the windows open and will be great when it rains. Thank you for showing this item. I of course never thought. Fantastic!
The clear command hooks would work for fairy lights. They are very small with a small channel. Command hooks are removable and won’t hurt your plastic.
Thank You for sharing PRECIOUS PARKER with us!!! Hi PARKER you CUTIE!!! 🐾💗🐾 I just love that he loves watching video with animals!!! So Smart!!! LOL that he took off with the monkey when you were playing that you were going to take his monkey!
Looks good. Hope it works. We had them put on our big dodge truck we had. Nice Dan has all his vinyls. We love having our music nites. Loud and so fun. I love music. 👍🏻💜😜
That looks like a super comfy napping sofa. I love how bright your home is! Have a smooth week. And, honey, you earned your YT channel having vlogged back before I saw any older gals doing travel vlogs..great to see you back!
Gee just got back home from a long weekend away and it rained a good portion of the way and could have used those rain guards. Thanks! Also great seeing Parker. Enjoyed and Love ya.
I like the look of the rain guards. Not sure if I will do that but thanks for demonstrating those. Now fairy lights are what I’m going for. I just ordered some from Amazon last night. They are solar powered. Can’t wait to see you put these up as I was thinking safety pins too. However, Minivan Lee had some other way to put them up I just can’t remember what she used. It was some kind of clip. Need to rewatch that video. thanks again, Carolyn. Your videos are a big help.
You Cleaning your window frames reminds me of when you applies Rain-X to your windshield of your beloved van. I don’t recall the window cleaner you started that project with, but I recall you were quite sold on it. Anyway, I have similar rain guards on my KIA Soul and every new passenger thinks the window is not completely closed. I quickly got used to them and the carwash is never a problem. 👍
If these don't work out. You may want to try the in channel ones. I got the WeatherTech ones for my Toyota Sienna. They don't use any tape to install and they popped right in.
Hope your rain guards work for you and keep sticking. I know what you mean about having to get used to seeing them. I am the same way. Isn't it crazy how vinyl records have become so popular again. My 19 year old is a big collector so we are always having to see what they have at Walmart, Target, etc when we are there.
Thanks for posting this! I was wondering how those rain guards worked! Too funny - I love my DGC but it is the MOST plastic vehicle I’ve ever had 🤣 I used Adventuring With Amanda’s idea & secured my fairy lights with small binder clips. Works great in the liner cracks 😎
You are so adorable. You give me hope I know you have health issues and so do I. My husband is very supporting but he really can’t relate. I know you can and your activities are inspiring.
Mine fit on the inside of my window frame in the track And then you just roll the window up and leave it like that for overnight tight seal I've never had any problem with them in the last 3 vehicles I've owned, I wont own a suv or truck without them... Great for leaving the window down just enough to get air in Without people trying to put their hand in your vehicle... I know people that have them that fit on the outside of door, and they a good amount of time.. If you allow them to sit and rest.. And the one friend who after a couple years There's started to lift a little bit they just put some more tape on it and it still work in strong... When I was in my big cargo Van I didn't wanna drilled in to any of the plastic framework so I used T pins to tuck my screens around the door and Between the seats in my bunk in the soft headliner
Hi Carolyn! You know, the way you are working so diligently and brilliantly on your nice minivan, you will be in the position to live in it full-time (f you wish) in the near future. I just have this feeling....🤔😊
I’ve seen sweet Parker lately, but haven’t seen your kitty. Do you still have him? I bought those rain guards from the dealership and had them put on there as part of a birthday present for my Mom. They cost $800 and have held up well but I’m sure you got a better deal on yours. My Mom loved them but she has since passed away so now I’m enjoying them. You’ll get used to them being there and they are a godsend in the rain.💖
You really have the best of both worlds having a nice home and being able to travel and connect with your friends. Really appreciate your humour in putting that dumb channel's puppet in your pics. Good for you!
I dug my albums out of the basement during Covid lockdown and have been enjoying them again, love blasting my big old floor speakers! I have a lot of the albums that were in that store!
Parker, so sweet and cute watching his show. Like those rain guards. Nice job. You have probably looked at the tents you add to the back of a van. That sure seems to add some room, and ventilation, not real expensive. Seems safe enough to use when you're with the friends camping. 😊👍
For those who have painted metal instead of plastic to attach to and are wondering if they are any good, the 3M sticky kind hold up very well. I've had the sticky kind on my Ford van for 3 years now, and they are still stuck tight.
Hello Carolyn, I also have rain guards that use 3m tape, but they attach inside the window track groove on my E150 van, 6 years old now. They are made by "Autoventshade" (AVS). I never had them come loose, or discolor or break. Keep doing your videos! Try to Ignore your negative comments and C Dave 😊👍
You find the most interesting things. Wish I were more like you... while I am looking and thinking and looking and thinking, you have already looked, bought, and tried it out. lol
My Chihuahua Ruby has the same monkey in blue. She doesn't play with it...but she likes having it close. Kinda like security. She's 8 yrs old come August.
I bought some mosquito screens that slipped over the car window ( they are elastic/material) so they are super easy to remove. They do the trick and you can lower your window all the way down if you want to.
We noticed our library here and Knoxville Tennessee has got vinyl records and course one of them is Willie Nelson. Which caught my husband's eye I said no no I'd have to buy a record player he said oh I've got one in my room but he's already got records most of really stuff anyways. Have a great day it's always good to hear from you
Those rain guards give your van a boost of style it looks like. And where do you think you need to loose weight?! Omg you look great! Love your shirts! & Remember those yellow things we had to pop into the center of our little one song on each side records 😂 Oh how I miss those days! Kids today have computer minds 👩💻 Hell I still use a keyboard with one ☝️ 😆 I was listening to the 70’s & 80’s classic rock this morning on RU-vid all the old bands. Makes you feel so old 😔 Until I start singing along into my spatula making my kids think I’m nuts 😜 Okay sry I’m gabbing now. 😃 Thanks for showing me another new tip I’m ordering mine after I know yours hold up 😃 ☔️ ✌️ ❤️ 😃
I have a set of those. I did not use the tape, nor applied to the outside. I slid mine inside the upper window frame. Works great, windows go up and down easily, no wind or adhesion issues.
So cool. I got some of those a few months back and I love them. When it rains steady I can crack the windows and mosquitoes don't come in. But when the rain stops the netting comes out. Lol.
Where are you off to next? I'm guessing the northwest is in your future 🤔 Looking forward to your adventures. Nice to see Parker so happy. Good to see you happy and healthy 😊
Hi Carolyn, we haven't seen Ron in awhile . I'm hoping all is well with him. He seems like such a nice laid back gentle man. Give him my best. Also a hug for you and a big smooch for Parker! God bless!
I kept my record collection and have a stereo system that I haven't used in forever. My brother worked on the amp when I bought it used and replaced parts and checked everything. Just a few weeks ago, I started playing with it again, but I need a belt for the turntable. It's supposed to be delivered tomorrow. What a blast! 🥳🥳
Those rain gutters for cars are fantastic whoever invented them should become a St it's so nice to be able to vent the windows when it's raining wow ✌💖💪👨🍳🎅🚌
Great idea about the rain guards. Isn't it like a blast from the past, the way vinyl has made such a comeback? I still have my first turntable set up from the 80s. With everything going digital, you dont really need one. It's purely a nostalgic item.
I have been meaning to ask about Mike I believe that's his name doing ? I think they must be the best rain guards. I had the outside one on my old truck they worked good also
If those don't work you want to get these Auto vent shade in channel. My have been on since April 2019, have gone through many car washes and they have never leaked or come off.
The ideal temperature to install these is 68-104°?! Here in Seattle, where I need these guards the most right now, it hasn't been over 60° for months! So my rain guards have been sitting in storage. 😕
