Jordi Em Forreal. I'm Samoan and Black. Im in college and for my housemates, there's an Indian girl, a Korean guy, Estonian guy, Nigerian girl, and a Peruvian guy. It's like the United Nations up in here. If one person don't know what a word means, another one does.
There are places in USA where there are NO Asians and NO blacks and NO anything non-white. Just saying. So that isn't really true. I had only 1 Asian in my entire high school. She was an exchange student. I didn't start seeing Asians until I moved to the cities. They also didn't own many of the private owned shops and gas stations during my high school years either(like many do today). This white lady I knew also never saw a black person before until she moved into a city where there were some. So yes look at population demographics across this country. Whites are still the majority. Latinos are the second,even though most can't vote because they are illegal... but 50% of those Latinos are white(so still white). So Whites still are the majority. IMO the only cities that are melting pots is Chicago and New York City all the rest are lacking 1 or more races. Los Angeles is lacking in black people..not many there.
Marish Long LA is definitely not lacking in black people. There are so many cities with huge black populations; Milwaukee, Pittsburgh, Atlanta, New Orleans, Miami, Toledo, OH, Philadelphia, Boston, New Haven, St. Louis, Newark, Cleveland, to name a few. Either you haven't been to many places or you're blind.
+NYCzora maybe you are ok with not seeing many blacks then. I've been there and it's less than 10% that is LACKING imo. Hell they couldn't even make it to the double digits. And it is going down, in 2009 it was 9.8% now in 2016 it's 8%. I think the population should at least have 15% or more in EACH demographic to qualify as part of a melting pot. And anything less than 10% is very few to almost rare to see. The biggest population is white, next mixed latinos, next is Asian and last black. There are cities with huge black populations. But imo a melting pot is when each demographic is at least 15% or more. Obviously I'm not including Native AMericans because they primarily live on their reservations where they can govern their own communities(which I wish we as black people could do without white interference but I digress). I can't live in a city where the black population isn't at least 20% or more personally. I prefer 50% or more, but I can settle for 20% because that is a big enough population to where at least every 5th person I see may be black. But in a population where blacks are 8%, that means you won't see a black person out of 125 people so yea that is RARE. You can say what you want. Although the black population isn't the biggest in USA, it is def the most influential population. I always say Blacks = innovators/creators Asians = good at perfecting mimicking/copying Whites = good at manipulation, stealing, deceiving. Mixed latinos(and other mixed Asians) = could be one of those or any combination of the 3, but the more white they look the more they are the White trait, the more black they look, the more they have the black trait, the more Asian they look the more they are of the Asian trait. And this has proven to be true throughout history. Whites know this, that is the MAIN reason why they hold blacks down more than any group. What other group do you know of who has 0 help and can create a "Black Wallstreet" being straight out of slavery(not just any slavery but 400yrs of killing, raping, beating etc just for wanting the basic human necessities like a bed, food, speak our language and culture able to read/write etc all the things that were stripped from us and forced to have to forget). With absolutely no government or financial assistance from any other group. Yea black people. No other group can do this because we are the INNOVATORS. I've observed this and researched this myself. Black people are the innovators/creators because we are created in God's image...and naturally we are the first humans on this planet and created the first civilizations on this planet. YOu better wake up because if you don't your soul will surly burn in hell for not knowing this truth if you don't already know it.

Shah Iskandar so true I was thinking the same thing when they said that...Asian letters??? I think characters is a better word for it. And Japanese alone you can use Kanji, hiragana, katakana, roomaji, etc.
Not to bash Adrienne, but in general when people say asian, people forgot about other asian. Like how people always say " I have black friends, white, hispanic, asian and Indian.." What you mean asian and Indian. Both are asian. Especially in America, people just assume if you're asian, You are Chinese.
Depends on how the relationship ended... if it was amicable like Jeannie & Freddy and we've been through so many ups and downs and know the good , the bad , the ugly about each other and still love each other enough to let go and still be friends... who's to say we can't give each other a gift ! It doesn't mean I still like you like that but it does show I have a heart and I still care

Actually, my ex was quite the gifter. After our breakup, I tried returning the jewelry knowing, each was pretty expensive. I ended up going to his house and in efforts to reason with him, after he initially rejected them over the phone, but to no avail. He just got out the gate, took the box and marched to the large dumpster across the street. He threw it in and without a word, went back into his home. I walked to the dumpster, climbed up all on it and retrieved it. I then learned that although my intentions were to return them as they were his afterall, he didn’t see it that way and found it incredibly offensive. I was considerate and stopped trying when I still had no intention of keeping them. Fast forward a year and I was volunteering at a center for children with Down’s, a few months in already and had bonded with some of the little girls. I then decided to regift the items and explained they were given to me by a man who viewed me as most beautiful when I didn’t feel that way (due to my own disability). I asked them to wear ‘em remembering they are most beautiful and when they don’t need it anymore, to pay it forward. When him and I crossed paths again, he told me he watched me get the box. I told the tale and he got a little choked up. So, he was pleased and I got what I wanted too. Adrienne’s story reminded me of mine and felt like sharing also.
My ex and I exchange gifts all the time, we were together since we were 16 years of age, we have two children so we are very amicable. It is healthy for our children to see. Even though we aren't together we are still a family. It isn't always perfect but we appreciate what we have created.
I’d accept a gift from an ex ONLY if we are both single. I would not accept anything if him or I are in a relationship or getting to know someone. Also, I would set it straight that me accepting the gift means nothing more than me accepting the fact that he took the time to get me something
I have a friend that went thru the same thing. But she didn't give hers away. She just doesn't wear them since it bothered her bf a lot (he's now her husband). He never asked her to not wear them but she just noticed it bothered him so she just doesn't wear any jewelry her ex gave her.

Adam didn't tell her to get rid of them. He just said he didn't like the fact that she still had them. Tamera CHOSE to give them away. My bff went thru same thing. Her bf didn't tell her not to wear the jewelry he just didn't get as affectionate with her if she was wearing them. So she chose not to wear them anymore since it bothered him.
