Idk about religion. I know he attended a church in DC at times. There is a story that his ghost was seen at the Adolphus in Dallas where he stayed sometimes. I think there was an election night gathering when he was spotted.
That was actually main reason for his many guilt-caused heart attacks during his final years. Afer both Kennedy’s were gone and Vietnam was in full swing, it hit him like a brick wall.
My brother and I were both in during Vietnam. I was Not over there. My brother went twice. He made it back, sadly, we lost him to cancer due to Agent Orange. I don't think johnson cared too much one way or the other. He didn't have to go, possibly might not even wanted to deal with it. However, the whole nation and quite a bit of the world was watching to see what he would do. Not even sure if kenedee would have got us out before so many lost their lives.
he got to live a natural life , the threats to his political and even his freedom from prison time did not get to go naturally. everybody got trust funds to stay silent - he was a mean sob, but he put himself and the texas good old boys in wealth. lbj played the texas justice game like a pro.
He had his life expectancy calculated & he said none of the males in his family had lived past 65. He told Bird that she was gonna be the richest widow in TX. A month before death, he was speaking at a civil rights event & pulled a nitro from his pocket & took it in front of everyone at the podium.
I have to correct this video. There were 3 agents who administered CPR to the :President. Mike was not one of them, he got there before loading on the plane.
What exactly Were LBJ’s last several hours like and even including minute by minute accounts on the day he had suddenly and had unexpectedly died while in which I’ve always wondered about that as well as also hour by hour on January 22nd 1973 which would be very interesting to know about before getting found on the floor on his ranch house ? 🤔🤔🤔🤔?
He made the money but KTBC was in Bird's name. I think they had ~100mil when he died. I know she left the ranch and built a new nice house on a hill either in Austin or close to it. Bless her heart she was legally blind for a long time with macular degeneration. Her $ couldn't fix that.
The last of the true titans in Washington, brilliant, persuasive, rude, crude, compassionate, tormented, a man of deep feeligs who will likely be reappraised historically for a good century to come.
The most contradictory human being there ever was. That man got stuff like the landmark Civil Rights Acts of '57 and the landmark '64 done. JFK couldn't do it. Every Black American owes him a debt of gratitude. He throw around the n word like many Southerners but he cared.
He was crooked down to the bone. He had no misgivings about having people killed who might have exposed his endless corruption. He took bribes for years as Senate Majority leader. He got the country into its biggest foreign policy disaster, the Vietnam War, which divided the country and led to a disillusionment and public distrust of America's institutions that has never been healed. He was an absolute disaster.
I have always found Lyndon Johnson to be a fascinating person of power. He knew what he wanted and was probably the most influential president that has ever lived. He got more legislation passed than any other president. He knew how to motivate and manipulate to get things done, that’s the sign of a good manager of people. LBJ was a very sharp operator and there’s a lot of stories out there on the internet coming out about him. None of these people would have the guts to cross him while he was alive. He certainly knew how to wield power.
LBJ was the most corrupt president in history along with the influence and backing of the CIA. He got more legislation passed than anyone because he had an agenda he was willing to kill for. JFK, his brother, and MLK all died while he was in reign. He was pretending to push civil rights movements to insure blacks voted left. That mf’er is in hell right now
New Book out Blood Money & Power......All the Worst that a power hungry madman can be.. If this is what Texas stands for, I have lost my respect for this state...!!!!!!
@@TheJMascis666 There was a passive-aggressive point Dante was making by praising JFK, and there's a big rivalry between Kennedy and Johnson lovers. It usually seems petty on social media though.
Hey pancho how in the hell do you know where he ended up how do you know if any of what you're saying is true now fo you know he didnt get forgiveness from God maybe you schould worry about where you end up just saying taking your comments into consideration
Yes LBJ was not a good human but he also did a lot of good with civil rights, voting rights and medicare. I know they have and will continue to be costly but they are essential programs.
The great society programs did far more harm than good and created a society that became dependent upon the government. Crime and poverty worsened under those programs and continued under president Nixon ( who doubled down on welfare programs) most of it was to buy votes but did little to nothing on improving the lives of those voters who stayed in the viscous cycle of government dependency
