Celebrity News cast Hiiiiii, I’m just now seeing this and hopefully it’s not too late. My best advice is to practice with the hirevue practice option. Make sure you look presentable, speak fluently and make sure they hear you. When you read the question, take a breath and brainstorm. Think about it, you’re in your own house nobody but a camera is “looking” at you so it should be a no brainer. You got this!!! Wishing my best blessings to you!
How is this type of interview more personal than a phone interview when you are actually speaking to a personalized? They want to see me, and I would like to see them when I am talking to them.
Agreed. Very one-sided "personalized." It makes me feel like less of a person to the company. That I'm not worth the company's time right from the get-go.
Thanks so much for the tips, which were mostly very professional, on point and just common sense. As a woman with a beautiful and tapered 'Fro, I did not feel good about your comments regarding 'Fros. I honestly feel that 'Fros are acceptable, just as straight and blond hair is acceptable - especially if that is what you came into the world with. I work in a highly professional industry (HR) and I am at a very high level (Director). I would never consider working in an environment where I was made to feel uncomfortable because of the natural state of my hair or because of the natural state of my skin color. If I am not the candidate of choice because of my natural hair or natural skin color, I am perfectly OK with not working for that employer.
I agree. I liked everything until the comments made about "fro". I am who I am. I wear a from because of medical reasons and medical treatment. I should not have to wear a wig or weave. Employers are supposed to embrace diversity.
I believe that to be a big reason why other nations are closing the gap or surpassing the US in particular industries, because we're too focused on the physical appearance, especially the hair. While she's correct about the current state of things, if a company is passing up a very intelligent and capable candidate for someone not as smart, but that visually fits in better, that's what leads to a company's downfall in the future.
One time, I sat on a rubber ball so I wouldn't seem too low when doing my video interview. A voice in the back of my mind warned me that things could go really wonky with the ball. But, my inner confident woman said, "Nah, this ball has me at the perfect height for facing into the camera." Somewhere in the middle of the interview, the ball became wobbly, and the ball and chair fell from beneath me and I tumbled to the floor. I call it my "I Love Lucy" moment. The interviewers all asked if I was okay. I said, "Yep," and showed them the ball that had caused me to fall. I continued the interview without a hitch. I use this story to tell insecure people - if you think you really did bad at interviews, at least you've never landed flat on your buns in the middle of an interview. Oh - and it was all recorded so they could watch it over and over again, to boot! By the way - I really enjoyed the interview.

Might want to mention that people should practice or have someone contact them to test their phones because sometimes the settings don't work when you put on do not disturb and turn off your notifications as I've had messages pop up during the middle of an interview before even though it was turned off also ensure the battery is fully charged up. You have some white noise in the background on this video I'm not sure if anybody's mentioned it before that you might want to remove before you record yourself for another subsequent video . I found this type of interviewing disconcerting as I am camera shy. Had one with Capita UK recently , even with the practice pre interview set up I was still nervy. I am in my 50s and alot of my friends and colleagues also expressed their refusal to do an interview like this stating not media savvy or simply not wanting to be on video. Looks like this will a regular method so I will watch your updates to assist
I took this for the first time this morning. It was quite manage. But my, I believe you give the best overview of video interview softwares...and it's the first time am seeing you!!! And I've watched a few different youtubers

-What role are you applying for and why? -Describe when you had to work in a team and describe the situation and the outcome -The hours you are available -(they also name a situation depending on the role) ex. Since I applied for checker I got “if a customer gets angry because of the way you bagged what would you do in that situation and how would you keep them from being dissatisfied?” -what kind of customer service would you provide so the customer leaves satisfied and comes back?
I did mines this past Friday. I was asked: How does your background and experience relate to the position you're applying for? List the past 2-3 jobs you've held and the duties. Employer, time, reason for leaving, etc Written. Why do you want to work here. Have you ever worked here. Leaving this here for anyone else interviewing for HEB. The camera wasn't on. It was just voice recorded. I still dressed as if was in person. You get a chance to retry each question. The first chance is timed. 3 minutes. After that you get your retry. There isn't any time limit in between. So you have plenty of time to craft a response you're ok with. I completely botched the first question. I did a get an invitation for an in person though. So there is room for error and bouncing back. Also I submitted the hirevu interview around 8 am and received the invitation for a face to face later the same day. I would say good luck, but STAY PREPARED is better suited.

I have to do a "digital interview" for them and i'm hoping it hasn't chaged since you posted this comment because i'm really scared about messing up my answers. I've worked at heb as a checker nearly two years ago but i only had to do two 1 on 1 interviews with them. I'm interviewing for curbside and im doing the interview tomorrow so i hope it goes well 🤞

I would have suggested warming up one's voice. there are plenty of videos on you tube to warm up one's speaking voice. especially when if you're doing hirevue early in the morning.
Everyone’s mad about the natural hair comment but she’s absolutely right. Afros aren’t “polished”! That’s not an low blow. They’re not made to be polished in my opinion. I were mine to be “wild” lol. Bouncy, curly, & care-free ❤️ That’s not for the workplace.

+pat ghi12 disclosures are probably something Hirevue has with the companies they work with. I personally did not have to submit any of my personal information such as SS number etc to Hirevue. The company I applied with emailed me a code and Hirevue link.. I clicked the link, answered the questions, end of story. If Hirevue wants to use video of me answering random questions for whatever who cares so be it lbs ..

Hi....I did my first HireVu Interview. I was not hired. First know that the terms state that HireVu and the Company (HireVus Customer-your Potential Employer ?) will have all rights and ownership to the content you upload, which seems obviously to mean your Interview. Which they can use any way they want. I recommend that you do at least a few practice questions, especially if you're not feeling totally relaxed, because it's like taking a timed test, I was not totally relaxed and did not always give as much detail in my answers as I should have because of being distracted with the concern of limited time. And if you have a question where you are torn between two answers, try selecting both and see if both remain selected. I had at least one question where I was torn between two answers, it was something like this...a question about shopping...When you arrive at the registers the lines are long, would you......... The two answers I was torn between were; one about asking the store to open more registers-this was my first choice, but I imagined being in that situation and not knowing how long it will take them to open one, and if they would/if they even would have the staff to do it. So I chose another answer- Contact the Customer and let them know the store is busy and I will be there as soon as possible. I figured it's better to let the Customer know I might be late, than to not let them know I might be late. If the first question would have also included-contact the customer if the store does not get you through the checkout by the time you need to be done...then that's the answer I would have chose. The problem with some (if not many) of this type of questioning/testing is, in actuality there are often more than one effective and appropriate actions/combination of actions/solutions that would work well, and very possibly the test designer doesn't realize that, especially it they're fresh out of College/young and inexperienced.
Really glad you made this vid & that i watched it because today I did my cyber interview with Shipt. Im glad I was prepared w/ format & sample interview, but it was still nerve racking to me. I think staring at the camera/my own face was odd. I felt self conscious. Fingers crossed I wasnt such a dunce that I don't get hired.

I knew I was fully qualified for a specific job and prepared for two days straight for a HireVue interview. I dressed up, and delivered solid and thorough responses for each question and yet did not even receive an email confirmation of whether or not I got the job. Absolute waste of time and borderline scam. I would not be surprised if bias and discrimination played a part.

I was so nervous during my interview. I know it was video but I am so judgmental of my looks and rather not look at myself the entire time also I am top heavy and my chest took up half of the screen. (embarrassing) With all that said I got the second face to face interview. Yes, I spoke fast, yes I stutter a bit, Yes I felt like I was going to pass out.
