One area that iClone really excels is providing a comprehensive toolset for animating both your characters facial performance and lip sync. There are many options for generating facial performance, as well as a number of ways in which you can enhance and refine the raw capture.
This webinar will focus exclusively on capturing facial motion capture, and will explore importing recorded video data with AccuFace, as well as live capture with an iPhone using the Live Face profile. You will also learn how you can integrate the AccuLips lip sync system to enhance and refine that aspect of the facial performance. Finally, we will explore some of the other tools like Facial Puppet and Edit Facial to generate animation in no time at all.

To fix the tongue poke through, in CC4 I just move the tongue back and shrink the scale a bit so that it never pokes through. I also push the eyeballs back slightly so that they never poke through the lids...also, to fix the eye blink problem, I use the face puppet with the blink only selected...with the face puppet, you can get some really smooth and realistic blinks.

It was great to attend this webinar last night - thank you, but would it be possible to make them slightly earlier? I'm in London and it was 1am. If it's earlier, it would be nice for European users to also take part without oversleeping the following morning ;)

ah i wasn't aware of the morph and sub layers of expression layers. I was struggling with redoing live performances not knowing all the sub layers are accessible... thank you

Yes, these save me. Be sure to keep up with where they are on the track so you know which key frame does what....and be sure to use blending and ease in and ease out transition curves...smooth as butter after that.

Would anyone mind letting me know if the Advanced Skeleton facial rig for Maya is compatible with iClone 8? I have seen the workflow video for using AS for the body mocap, but nothing for face?

Great Video! There is one thing that I don't get. When I record the face animation with AccuFace, the outcome does not look like the preview, which looks very good. After recording it's just dull and has no emotion. It looks a little better after adjusting AccuLips but it still has way less emotion than the preview had. Any ideas why that might be?
