Great shave Johan. I think I need a weck shave tomorrow. I agree , nothing is as sharp as a weck. I finish my weck edges on a black Arkansas or a jnat. It smoothes it out and makes it even more incredible! All the best with you hand recovery. Maybe outsource your deck cleaning 😂🥰
Wonderful noisy shave Johan 😊 I know nothing about the Weck sextoblade only the ridiculous postal charges on ebay from USA. Often more than the razor 😢. Love to own and try one , the kismet blade seems amazing 👏
There is less hassle with a shavette compared to a straight razor (no honing, stropping or maintenance of the two sides for the strop). The basic hand movements are essentially the same, but the shavettes being less forgiving of user errors (i.e., more cuts) - what should a newbe go for? Both look cool.
I often hear and read that shavettes are a good starting razor if you want to maybe get into straight, but I agree, they are much more difficult to use.
Cutting edge (and sharpish) on a "skärtorsdag"* ... almost, but luckily, no blood. With all these decks and things and machines, the soundtrack might include Procol Harum's ‘A Salty Dog’ [whose opening line is (of course) ‘All Hands on Deck!’ followed by the more work environmemntally suitable Machine Messiah by Yes. *Yes, I know, "skärtorsdag" has got nothing to do with the verb "skära" [=cut, for the benefit of any non-Sedish speakers], even though that is what you're doing. It is from the adjecvtive "skär" - pure, clean [noun and verb]. But one has to choose ONE word play at a time.
