I've done the "look at each other and be happy with each other" Taylor line before - the first second is a corny laugh, but the corny laugh leads to a natural moment, actually. One of your best lines
Taylor is just casually putting out the info plus tricks you should use, or the way he walks, positions himself, finds spots ... It is extremely useful. For a beginner and for a Pro too. I have done many events by now, but there is always something new to me. I have just recently started to use one camera body only, this would have been a strict NO a few years back, and I still have a second body with me, but it is more like a safety net, and it stays in my bag. It is there if I need it. I am a Canon shooter, and I use the Sigma 40mm 1.4 and the Sigma 105mm 1.4 so it's kinda heavy as hell, but I feel like this setup gives me what I feel like, yes this is my style, this is how I want to photograph a party, a wedding, or anything. It might be an overkill and it would be easier to use something like the 28-70 F2 on my R5, but I have learned when to change lenses and when to use the 40mm and when to switch to the heavy beast - the 105mm 1.4 :) At the end of the day, the only thing matters is a happy client. However, I thrive for the best possible images, and I personally want to say something like " Yes, that's a great capture, well done " to myself.
I use the 24mm GM on my a7r IV and my sigma 85mm 1.4 on my a7 IV, it's allow me to croop on the riv images and getting closer. it's a wonderful lens, even to make some nice portrait.
Great vid, Taylor. I also would love, love, LOVE a zoom that's three hard stops. Even two. But like you, I'm mostly a prime shooter. My wedding primes are 24, 40, and 85. I also usually bring a zoom or a longer prime just for the ceremony.
Liked the BTS video. Do you primarily capture images in vertical / portrait mode? That’s what I noticed during bride prep. If you watch the BTS video in landscape with the outside waterfall I sort of “wished” you captured in landscape 😬😎📸 Also, how do you hold / mount the GoPro during the wedding?
Gonna do my first wedding tomorrow as a 2nd shooter. I’m providing my services for free on exchange for a few pictures of my portfolio. I think I’ve binged your entire channel in preparation, lol. If wedding just so happens to become my jam, I’m definitely gonna become a member. Thanks so much Taylor. P.S. I can Venmo you if you’re short on cash for that clip 😂
The peak design backpack is also nice so you don’t have to spend $150/month on massages for your one broken shoulder from a messenger. Speaking from experience 😂
I personally prefer a 24mm to a 35mm. I like the 24 look and I've been in more situations with group photos where I wish I could have gone wider than not. I've ended up in some smaller areas that the wider just helps so much
Your videos are some of the best out there for witnessing a first-hand photographer on a wedding day. Love your styles and ideologies. Definitely curious if you have or intend to get your hands on the new Tamron 35-150mm 2-2.8. I’m likely going to buy it but feel like it’s really in your focal range and your thoughts would definitely be fun to see (it will be a while before I can afford it)
How do you get nice skin tones with a7r4? I cant seem to get the heavier reds lighter in camera. It makes brown skin not look natural and too much pinkish in white skin
Hey Taylor. I have an RF35 1.8,RF 50 1.2, RF 85 1.2 and RF70-200. Would you bring all these to a wedding? Which would you leave out if you were shooting a wedding alone?
@@TaylorJacksonPhoto indeed I understand. When I happen to get the R6 or R5 I will do the same. But funny enough you sometimes hear people saying about capturing the moment and waiting for the moment and all bs but in the many just spray and advocate that wait for the moment lol
@choreavoider hmm so if you click the link www.taylorjacksoncourses.com/wedding-photography-photo-checklist?coupon=FREECHECKLIST And use the top link it doesn’t work?
@@TaylorJacksonPhoto when i type my email, it doesnt let me continue. The button fades as if nothing is there. But its empty to turns black but I still cant continue.
