the cello needs to be used more for this kind of music. it just feels like its a perfect instrument for dark songs.

Wednesday playing Paint it Black on the Cello gave this music the darkness it deserved. This took it to the next level!

Ever since I was a young boy my favourite instrument has been the cello. I lack the gift of music to play it, but listening to a truly talented artist play it well still brings great wonder and amazement. I never liked the song _Paint it Black_ before now. Played on the cello, it has a life of it's own. It's almost as it the notes were intended to be play that way. Beautiful! 🍷☺️👍

This is far and away the best version I've found of this. Odd question, because I appreciate it's better as the full thing, but is anyone else curious to hear just the cello we see being played without any backing? Just because it's what the characters would hear in the scene in the TV show and I'm curious. That's possibly an odd request but I really would like a video that's just that as well... even though, as I said, I do know this original version will still be the better one!

This was a fabulous cover in the style of the show...well done! Of course, the performance in the show is impossible to accurately reproduce live, since sections of the song were recorded with multiple tracks and combined later. Props to Jenna Ortega for spending the time to at least **look** like she's playing. I really hope she continues to learn, as Cello is an extraordinary instrument, and playing feeds the soul.

I am learning the cello! I've been a Violinist and pianist so I'm trying to be more diverse! (I can hear the violin track in the back, compliments the cello very well).

Beautiful! The cello is a difficult instrument for school students because of the difficulties transporting the cello to and from school so the can practice at school and home. Many schools don’t have the money to keep the cello in school. So check with your middle schools where it starts and offer to buy a new/used cello if they don’t have one. I got our school a quality, slightly used 3/4 cello for $400 or $500. The musical director was very happy.

When I first heard this, Paint it black didn't even come to mind. I was too engrossed in the show and how the music played a great part. I wish i didn't find out now because I enjoyed it more then, not knowing, than I do knowing what the song is.

Very, Very impressive young lady. Extremely good work on this piece, it is as difficult as it sounds. But you made it look easy. Congrats. I have heard people talk about how playing this is impossible. My response to them has been why is it impossible?, some one had to play it for the movie be it Jenna Ortega or someone else, it doesn't just fall out the sky. I played cello for 45 years until getting my left hand caught in a baler, that pretty much ended my playing career. But, I still love the instrument and appreciate when it is played well. Congrats again, young lady.

Fun facts: Jenna Ortega learned how to play the cello just two months before filming Wednesday. She also learned fencing, German, boxing and archery for the role. On top of all that, she choreographed the now-famous Wednesday dance number.
