As always a fantastic video! I wish I could wait for all your other weekly episodes , alas I must begin the encapsulation! I’ve got all my materials and nearly all the insulation pulled out. Lights layed, and pulling old plastic tomorrow. Then I shall begin the wall insulation installation/blocking off the vents. Thank you so much for all your videos over all the years. I learned so much and reiterated so much I already knew.

Thank you for your videos!!! They have been so, so helpful. I have a question. We had flooding in our crawlspace late last year and it was causing the floors to cup and warp. We had a disaster team clean things and dry things out for about 3 weeks. Underneath all the flooring we had to pull up, we discovered hardwood floors (and they also act as the subfloor). We would now love to refinish these floors. My question is -- do you think we will be safe to use those as our main floors without major problems down the road? Also, there is a part of the crawlspace dirt that is still damp to the touch - so many companies are telling me it's almost impossible to get that moisture all dried up. Will laying down a moisture barrier over my crawlspace be sufficient? Or does it need to be all the way dry before laying that down?? Thank you so much!

An Encapsulation will put vapor barrier on the floors ,walls and pillars. That would shield your home away from moisture and would help@ As for structural reassurance it maybe best to have a professional foundation repair person come out.

Why do you need the drainage system if you encapsulate? Won't the vapor barrier keep water out of the space? Is it a big deal for there to be water under the vapor barrier?

Moisture can sneak through seams that aren't properly sealed. Now you have moisture and/or standing water in your encapsulation.

Thinking about installing an interior water management system in a 4’ crawlspace in a Minnesota home. The floor is poured concrete. Assume I will need to cut the concrete around the foundation to get the water management system against the footer. Should the concrete be repoured over the top of the water management system after installation? Does there need to be a vapor barrier on the entire crawl space floor?

Absolutely! That is apart of what makes this a sealed/conditioned space.
