@@mw01908 No such thing was ever predicted. You've probably picked up that info from a sensationalist article loosely based on a climate model output. (which a scientist would give no weight to).
Could not make it to work today fell off my bike the snow and ice made me fall off and then my chain came off, so I thought I walk with my bke and try again on the main road and fell off again then the wind was hoowlng and more snow was freezing so I went home sod work . Will walk to work tomorrow it will take me about 50 minits. Not looking forward to it
Hey @metoffice, last time we had a 'beast from the east' it was followed by a record breaking heatwave through the spring and summer. What is the likely hood that this will happen again?
@@Kingofdafarm21 . Not global warming as such, we are in the northern hemisphere. Pretty cold winters, warmish summers should be the norm. I remember well the summer of 76. I was working in the steel industry in South Yorkshire, at that time. Every day we couldn't wait for the shift to be over l.o.l.
Because the wind flows in an undisturbed stream, picking up the moisture from the sea, then same stream deposits it over land. Whereas with a weather front there is mixing of cold and warm air, turbulence.
