I would just like to take a moment to thank all the survivors of this video who endured my horrible “ortho bro” personation. Your action was honorable.
@@Nur-lf5ro hey I Just saw, that's so exciting! I would say to always remember why you're doing it in the first place when you start to get stressed. It will consume your life for the time being but it will be such a fun and rewarding job. I also think PT teachers and clinical instructors are a lot nicer compared to some other health professions. Remember to make time for the gym, and eating healthy so you're in the best shape/ mood to care for others. My program does one 6 credit course every month so i have the entire course curriculum tacked up on a board in my room so I can cross it off each month and see the progress, I did this in undergrad too and its my best tip for motivation! Lastly, I'd say to never be afraid to ask questions/ put yourself out there and try new thing on clinical etc, after all we pay so much for the program might as well learn as much as possible. Good luck in your doctoral program, you'll do great!
Im sorry if you already covered this, but can you do a video about how you managed relationships while in med school ? I know you've also mentioned here and there mental health struggles and any insight on how you dealt with self doubt vulnerabilities and burn out would be very helpful if you feel comfortable talking about it . Thanks America :)
Oshadee N. Arachchi just out of curiosity. How many months did u study for every time? I’m trying to get an idea for when I graduate from University. I know I’m gonna try & get the MCAT exam review books
You’re a Queen! I admire a lot all the work ethics that you have. I fell behind on med school, I suppose to graduate in the end of this year but things got out of hand and now I won’t, I’ll need 2 more to be able to do so, it’s something I really want to finish and I love and I know it will makes me happy, after a long time of being in denial and no studying now I’m in therapy and I’m finally able to continue my journey but it’s so hard to start studying and put an effort on it, so thank you for uploading the videos, they bring a light to my hard med student journey.
Carolina Carolina I am also in therapy for the same reason, it makes me feel a lot better knowing that I’m not alone and not the only one going to therapy due to school. Feel better!! Remember that just because you got a bad grade doesn’t mean that’s you’re not passionate! Keep strong and don’t stop no matter how long it takes!!
I wish you well, I am in a similar position, as are many others. I've been out of school for what will be two years in september, I've debilitating social anxiety and depression that I've been getting treatment for, it's improved significantly, and I'm sure whatever you are going through you'll overcome :) All the best. I expect you'll get lots more commenting in similar situations, it's ubiquitous these days sadly
America I just wanna thank you for being such an inspiration to me, before watching your vlogs I always doubted myself thinking I wasn't smart enough to go to med school and that I should just do something easier, but your vlogs have shown me if I believe in something I want to do I should go for it. So thank you America for just being you and being such an inspiration to me and everyone else subscribed to your channel.
omfg PROOOOOTEEEEEIN (thanks for posting a video despite your busy schedule!!!! i'm a nurse but it's so fascinating and inspiring to see what yall go through in med school :p)
I love these videosss!!!!!!! They are amazing and you have such a beautiful personality!!! I would love it if you could post more of the day/week as a med student or resident!!!
DIED @ you working out while doing your ortho study session. When I watch videos that don’t require not taking I am 100% going to do that. What a time saver! 💀
My goal for 2020 is to support other women and pay tribute to women who do amazing things. Your honestly inspire me. You inspire me to be kind, quirky, funny and smart. ❤
Been watching your videos since you were a first year. So amazing to see you grow (and your camera quality get better hehe). Thanks for being such an inspiration for premed students like me!! Love from Toronto

I am glad your back America! I am a new subscriber. I love your channel! I am a prevet student. I wanna be a veterinarian like your dad is lol. You inspire me. I wanna get a heart from you. I have been watching your videos. It feels good to see you RU-vidrs saw what you posted. I have been watching your videos I just don't comment. I will comment more often. I also like your visit to Tulane. I live close to N.O. Tulane is a top school in LA.
I’ve been watching you since day one of med school and can I just say how proud I am of you? Just seeing all your hard work pay off and how happy u are is so inspiring I’m on my journey to vet school and this is showing me that it will all pay off I’ve heard vet school is even harder to get into than med school so I definitely could use the motivation lol 👀😓
Good thing I stayed up late (4:36 am here in Germany 😂) so I'm here early for your new video!!! 😍 I'm with you on being early for things, also one of my resolutions! Keep it up with the PrOtEin!! 😄
I had to get a hip replacement at 34 due to AVN. But I will tell anybody, who has hip or knee pain, to go see an orthopedic doctor to see what’s wrong👍🏽
Medicine here is 6 years. For me is gonna take 8 because I fell behind two years bc of BPD, major depression, GAD and addiction. Thank god I'm 50 days clean.
For my overnight oats, I love making bigger batches in flat Tupperware containers and then eating 1/3 every day so I don't have to make it as often. Have fun in Hawaii!
Omg if you're ever in San Antonio I would love to have coffee with you and hear your stories. You are soo interesting and I give it to you for your academic dedication. Like sheesh! That's a lot of schooling man!
PT school student here :) Would love to hear about your experience with physical therapy during your ortho rotation! Joint replacement rehab is a huge part of PT so it would be really cool to hear about
I took both anatomy + physiology and kinesiology and they were my favorite classes My junior year of high school. I still remember everything except the nerves (I was terrible at that) I found my passion for the human body in those classes and what I wanted to specialize in which is cardiology.
