Anytime! I love that you support other creators on your channel and I need to get better at that. Yes I love all of my classmates :) Haha ya the anticipation of the second preview was honestly stressing me out, but I’m glad she loved the second preview. I love how relatable your videos are as well! It’s like we can put ourselves into the other artists shoes and exhibit the same emotions.

Happy New Year Julie! Thank you for sharing your experience with us. Your classmates look super nice! Glad you're having fun and learning so much. I remember Anatomy and Physiology were tough subjects. You said that you're giving up your Saturday weddings for school; I feel that you are not. Weddings will always be there. You've worked very hard the past few years. I see these Saturdays as: you are treating yourself to school. You deserve this time to invest in yourself and your future and I'm very happy and proud of you. Enjoy this chapter of your life 😀

Wow that was an eye-opening perspective! Thank you for sharing it in such a positive light! I sometimes have trouble seeing past the immediate things so I appreciate the perspective shift. My classmates are really great and I'm having so much fun in school so far :)

I did the same ! Graduated college then decided to do Estheitcian school and so glad and grateful I did. Four years later I’m now doing both freelance and facials I love it so much ! You’re going to excel so much more I’m so happy for you !

I made a 100 on my first assignment I’m so happy but my next assignment scares me because I have to apply false lashes on someone else and that scares me so much! What a relaxing video love you, Julie ☺️

Esthetic school was so much fun most of the time! We took clients on Saturdays and we called it Slave Saturdays 😂😂😂

I have a question, I went through Instagram accounts of different makeup artist, they have mentioned in there qualification that they are DYF certified, then further I searched about DYF its an intensive 2 day private class about makeup and separately for hairstyling as well before that you have to go through 3 month online DYFL course, can you please explain this as it seems that makeup artist should have a state license and certificate from the state rather than random courses which is less time consuming but expensive though.

Some states you're not required to have a license to do makeup unless working in a salon environment, so it would depend on what state they are in.

@rabiaqureshi6453 I have actually never heard of being DYF certified, but I also live in Indiana so we are the last to know about trending or bigger topics involving makeup artistry haha. As another commented, whether you need an actually Cosmo/Esthi license will depend on your State Board of Cosmetology. My state requires it and I just found out a couple years back.

Haha yes! I tried not to buy new things with shorter shelf lives because of this. It’s hard but the end goal is worth it :)

I definitely have seen some hair & MUAs in my area that are licensed in cosmetology that are super unsanitary, so in my opinion having that credibility doesn't mean much. I do plan on getting my esthetician license when my youngest is in school to help add other types of services to my business.

Yes that’s definitely common unfortunately. This is why I truly believe that for makeup artistry, you need additional training beyond just the license. To the general public though, having a license is seen as more “legit” to them though (at least in my experiences). My state does require it which is why I’m in school now, but I do plan on adapting it isn’t my business :) I hope you are able to go to school soon and are highly successful in getting to your goals!

@@julieruby yeah it's a bummer when people who are licensed around me are seen as more credible when they don't know basic sanitation. It looks like school is a blast for you so I'm sure that makes it easier! Best of luck on the rest of your journey, I look forward to seeing it.
