ICU nurse here - I also get myself Chick-fil-A after my last shift when I “Feel I deserve it” made me laugh because that’s the exact verbiage I use to justify it 😂

Resp. Therapist here- just wanted you to know that your content makes a positive impact in the lives of others. It’s exhausting doing 12 hour shifts in the hospital- I think everyone lately has just felt so burnt out. But I like to de-stress and watch your videos. Hope to see more vids and hope it gets better soon for you! ☺️

Thank you so much for your sweet comment. Making videos feels like a place to vent + relate to others in the same spot as me. It’s why I started it as a student 🥹🤍

I’ve been a L&D nurse at a high risk unit for over 2 years and I still get preshift anxiety. Our work is hard! At any point, a shift can just hit the fan and it can be so stressful. You’re not alone. You’re a great nurse ♥️

Have you been struggling with NCLEX be it LPN or RN, have you taken the exam for more than once? Are you taking it for the first time? Do you have a too busy schedule to study? Get to Dr Needham for your NCLEX assistance. I’m so happy I finally passed my exams thanks to him. He’s got a magical qbank which will help you become a RN

Hey Jackie!! ☺️ I got super excited when I saw you posted a new video because I used to watch you when I was a nursing student.. NOW I’m an OB nurse. I can relate to the pre-shift anxiety because I had that when I was on med surge -> now I’m on an Antepartum unit.. Have you considered staying in OB? But in different areas within OB? I work with a lot of RNs that also did L&D but moved to Antepartum :) a lot prefer it - just throwing it out there because I remember how excited you were for OB when you got the job 💕

I understand how you feel. I’m on week 9 of 14 for orientation and I’m questioning if this is for me. I’m usually night shift but will start days for the rest of orientation to see if it gets better. I know it was my preceptor that had me feeling miserable on top of dealing with personal stuff. So I’m hoping having a new preceptor will help me want to stay.

Hi! Sending you lots of good vibes your way! I have been a nurse for over a year now & I definitely understand how you feel. I felt the same way as well. I promise that it gets better! ❤️ Preceptors definitely shape your experience. Just remember that unkind or impatient preceptors are not a reflection of you. Sadly, nursing has a reputation where nurses “eat their young.” It’s a horrible way for people to treat others. It’s been more recognized recently & I hope that people are starting to move to a much better approach. I think often time people forget what it’s like to be a new nurse and don’t provide empathy and understanding to others. Hang in there! ❤️ It does get better! When I was in orientation I had so many doubts about this being a good career choice for me. I hope that the new preceptor is helpful for you! You can always talk to management as well if you are having trouble finding a good fit. Management should understand completely because it’s so important that you feel comfortable so you can learn the best ! ❤️ Also every nurse has their own way of doing things. Sometimes how one person does things doesn’t work you. That’s definitely okay! When you are off of orientation, you will find what works best for you! :) hang in there! It will get better!! Your feelings are so valid & understandable! I was there too! I was told by a nurse that 6 months on your own will really help with your confidence! I believe that to be true! You got this !
@christina_rn504
@christina_rn504 Год назад
@@emilyl5216 thank you!! I actually switched to another preceptor from nights to days and it’s so much better. I actually decided to stay and I do feel like when I’m off orientation in a few weeks that I’ll be ok. The right preceptor makes a big difference and I’m glad I made the choice to find a new one instead of giving up and transferring to another unit.

This channel lost me at, "She's not allowed on the couch." So sad. How would you like to not be allowed on a couch?😟 Makes me so mad when I see or hear this about animals. Put a little blanket there if you're so worried about your couch. It's pitiful to see this poor dog with his two back feet on the floor so he won't get in trouble. How cruel. What in the world? Done.
