I'm howling with laughter...and I quote.." "Whoever this Elvira is she's got nine dudes singin' about her"..( best thing I heard all day) ..You go..u crazy kid !!!
@@Royelsworth Definitely NOT the ELVIRA they were singing about..hahaha !! PS..Don't think your Elvira (mistress of the dark) hung out at the Hungry House Cafe.. Sorry..more laughter..but thx you sooo made my day !!!!
The Oak Ridge Boys are comprised of Joe Bonsall Tenor(Mustache), William Lee Golden Baritone(Long ZZ Top-like beard) Duane Allen Lead Vocals (Short beard) and Richard Sterban Bass (The Older Deep voiced guy). As you proabaly already know Home Free are Austin Brown (High Tenor, The baby-face one) Rob Lundqvist (High Tenor with glasses and a beard), Chris Rupp Baritone/Fill-in Bass (when Tim does lead), Tim Foust The younger Bass singer with a goatee) and last but not least, Adam Rupp The Beatboxer (also sing a low tenor). The Oak Ridge Boys as a group but not the cureent members have been around since 1947. Home Free was started by Chris and Adam Rupp in 2000.
Sweetie, a week is just NOT enough time! Man of constant sorrow, God Bless the USA with Lee Greenwood and the Air Force Band, end of the road, blue ain't your color, all about that bass, and the all about the bass bloopers, lol....
One thing I love about Home Free is the way they spread an appreciation for Country music, even to people who never imagined they'd like it! I've seen a lot of Home Free reaction videos, & so far every single person becomes a Home Fry on the spot!
I love that Home Free works with the older classic C/W artists. The Oakridge Boys have been top rank since I was a kid over forty years ago, when Elvira was one of their hits. Seeing HF team up with their elders and just have a hell of a time doing a fun, respectful version of an oldy but goody? They could be horrible people off screen, where I can't see them. But on screen those men are some of the nicest, most honorable, fun, kind people I've seen in donkey's ears. Seeing them do "Children, Go" with Kenny Rogers, or do an old Johnny Cash with Avi, or this with the Oakridge Boys? They know where they come from, and they're good to the folks who went before them.
It's a not too common but still used name in the Latino community, so here in Miami, I've worked at two different jobs, and at each there was a collegue named Elvira (only they don't pronounce it in Spanish Elv-eye-ra but El-veera
Love the older generation VS the younger generation!! This was a hit for the ORB Bach in 1981!! This collaboration revitalized the Oaks career. The Oaks have become mentors & performers with HF! Kenny Rogers also befriended HF. After his death, HF released their cover of “The Gambler”!! Nice reaction!
To be clear, yes, Elvira is a girl's name and, yes, there is a character portrayed by Cassandra Peterson called Elvira. According to Dallas Frazier, the composer of the song, "Elvira" was inspired by a street sign for "Elvira Street" in Nashville. This is according to an interview Ray Baker did for Songfacts. I, like thousands of others, originally assumed it was inspired by a woman. False, as my son would say.
Well, Dallas Frazier may have written the lyrics on the inspiration of a street sign, but he definitely "borrowed" the music from an old gospel song called "Go Jonah" about Jonah and the whale. Look it up. There is even a video of a gospel quartet acting silly and intermixing both lyrics in their performance. Grin
Songwriter Dallas Frazier wrote "Elvira" in 1966 and included it as the title track of an album he released that year. The title of the song was inspired not by the name of a woman, but by the name of a street in East Nashville, Tennessee.
The songwriter was inspired for the title by a street name in Nashville, Tennessee. There was an interview I can’t find on RU-vid where the Oak Ridge Boys said Elvira was any woman in your life you couldn’t live without.
The Oak Ridge Boys quartet have been around since the 50's but these 4 broke into country music in the 70's and were country royalty in the 80's. You should check them out doing My Baby is American Made.
I named my mustang gt Elvira bc she sure can make my little light shine. I love that car and both of these groups. Great reaction you have a new subscriber!!!
This song was not written about the actress. The writers were looking for a woman's name with three syllables, and one of them drove by a street named "Elvira."
There are so many rumors about who Elvira is. She is either Elvira Mistress of The Dark, a phenomenon of the 80's or.....it is the name of a street, lol. You can look up the former on youtube.
You---"...I haven't heard of the Oak Ridge Boys before, but if they standing next to home free, I know they gotta be lit." Home Free--- Holy Sh1t!!! We're standing next to the Oak Ridge Boys!!! We ARE actually legit!!!
I’m not sure but I think Elvira was a voodoo priestess from New Orleans. I loved your reaction and I don’t think you want to look her up. Roflmao 😂 😂😂.
Dude, I don't see many Home Free reactions on your play list other than the 7 days and one other. Please react to Home Free's cover of American Pie featuring a 70 year old Don McClean, the guy who wrote and originally recorded the song, or Home Free's cover of God Bless the USA, featuring a 77 year old Lee Greenwood, the guy who originally wrote and recorded that song and the US Air Force band, or Home Free's cover of When A Man Loves A Woman, with Austin Brown singing lead, or finally, their Country Fried Pop Medley featuring songs of Beyonce, Rhianna, Miley Cirus, Justin Bieber and 11 others. 17 songs total. Give it a shot, Brother.
Really enjoy your reactions. If you really want to react to something that will lose your lady, check out their mashup "Thinking Out Loud/Let's Get It On." :)
Elvira by The Oak Ridge Boys - Songfacts www.songfacts.com/facts/the-oak-ridge-boys/elvira Elvira is a girl's name, but the song is not about a person. Ray Baker, who worked on this track, told the story in a Songfacts interview: "My background in the music business before I retired in the late '90s here in Nashville was mostly as a producer, having produced many of the recordings by George Strait, Merle Haggard, Charley Pride and many of the Opry acts.

This is Elvira ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-wXVcSj7xDs0.html She came out as the queen of the B horror movies and kind of took the place of the Creature Feature afternoons. The Oak Ridge Boys released this song right about the same time she was doing these movies LOL.
