Welcome to The Common Corner!
This week I am excited to share a new kind of video~ one with a reflective voice-over instead of me talking live to the camera.
I actually really enjoyed this as it added an extra layer of processing to my journey of analogue archiving!

I love your collages: the heart is the same shape as the hand on your page. I like recording my writing time too. I used to record the temperature and weather but when I read previous pages they seemed irrelevant while the time record was interesting and connected to the entry. I like this format too. The colour of the orange is delicious!🐇🧡

Hello again~ apologies for my once again late reply~ but I always try and get back to you! Thank you for your sharp eye and observations. The time record is indeed interesting and helps to recall back the moment I tuned in to my pages🥰 And yes, I have been enjoying oranges so much these days, their bright colour reminds me of the upcoming summer 💌 Once again, always happy to see your little rabbit in my comments~ 🐇🎀

if you're working in pen and ever worried about mistakes in your hobonichi the mt plain white washi tape is the same colour as the paper they use, so works well for patching/ covering mistakes. learning this literally changed my life :)

I love your videos - thank you! And, that is one of my favorites by Murakami :)

🥰Thank you~ and ah mine too! I've been slowly re-reading it and enjoying every word~ especially the part where he visits Finland! Murakami's description of a Finnish countryside is very spot on! :)

This is the first video I watched of yours and I'm already hooked! I love your layouts especially in your commonplace book. I'm going to make annotations about past pages with a different coloured pen now, too. I use post-it notes instead. It never occurred to me to use a different coloured pen until seeing you doing it, duh so obvious, haha! Thanks for that!

in one of your previous videos you had mentioned that you partly copy Megan Rhiannon. I find myself copying you in my journal :))) esp. in the way you prefer to use cutouts and red pen (I have always enjoyed my red pen, but I was somehow too shy to use it often. Now I feel like I am more generous with it, alongside with a bright green pen). I am tempted to use weekly spread for actual life planning, because now I have a separate book for it. I think it is so smart to keep everything in one place, because even life planning books bring up a lot of memories and self observation. I really enjoy the atmosphere in your videos, and the relaxed, friendly vibe in them! What I find surprising though is that you journal in English! I moved out of my country about 7 years ago, but I still prefer journalling in my native language, idk why. It is like I have a different language for the different sides of me, and journalling feels so personal that it requires my mother tongue. Why did you choose to journal in English?

Hi there~ thank you for your sweet and encouraging words!🌾❤️ Im so glad that you've gotten the inspiration to use your red pen more~ I think It added such a happy pop of colour, and ties together the themes of the pages with this unifying colour. 📚 I'd like to very kindly mention how I enjoy using the term of taking inspiration rather than copying🥰 I think this is what you meant as well! I think when engaging with our personal journals, it is really fun to get new ideas from other creators and then to implement them in our own ways, rather than copying without putting our personal touch on it! ❤️‍🩹 I feel very honoured that you've gotten some of this inspiration from me🥺 Thank you! I really appreciate you letting me know ❤️📚 [I will get to answering your question about the language of journaling after my day at the medical school hospital, where I am on my way now 🥰]

It is a ritual for me to always light a candle when I sit down at my table~🥰 It helps me feel calm and relaxed, and to tune in to my journals~ I light it regardless of the time of day°~♡
