Fun fact about spinach. It's nutritional value is maximized when wilted, not when raw or fully cooked.

I don't understand why y'all are hating so hard on Blue Apron. Most of the groceries I buy at supermarkets come packaged in plastic. (Yes, they're even wrapping whole fresh vegetables in plastic now, and some stores add a styrofoam tray as well!) The typical supermarket also generates MASSIVE amounts of plastic waste in the backroom that the customer never sees. Yes, there are better stores with less-polluting options, but these greener options do not exist where many U.S. consumers live.

I'd be interested in seeing how you approach weeknight meals at lower price points. Even ingredients like chopped nuts assume a budget that allows for garnishes, snacks, or other "pantry staples" that are out-of-reach for some. I'd definitely want to try these recipes at some point, but I'd love to see how you'd tackle more low-budget options. Including an estimated cost-per-meal popup could also be cool to see!

Joop Hooijmans Passing on sponsorships is an option when you are a small channel and can look for an amount of money that will support one person. Based on the heavy flow of videos Andrew is producing nowadays, along with the new set and at least one guy on the camera crew, he can’t afford to pass up sponsorships. Same thing happened with Funhaus vs Internet Today, IT could pass on HIMS because it’s 2-3 people max who already get sponsorships for each episode, Funhaus has at least 10 people supported by its videos and needs all the money they can get. BwB isn’t just Andrew anymore, it’s evident there’s at least one other person, and most likely 2-4, working with him, taking up money as salary.

She doesn't snap or cut the ends, she just trims off the very bottom, and peels the outside of the hard bottoms that are usually wasted. All this time I cut or bend and snapped. And was basically throwing so much delicious asparagus away. Just peel the hard rine off the bottom and you can enjoy the whole stalk almost. I was just giddy learning this from a 30 year old episode literally today and just tried it. Mind blown that I've been wasting half my asparagus all this time.

You simply don't understand a service, so you knock it? Its not about going to the store and getting the ingredients, its about not having to worry about wasting time doing that very thing. You act like everyone lives next to a store and can just grab the items in the exact spot inside. You also fail to mention that you can't simply buy the ingredients..you have to buy MORE of what they give you. So you end up wasting stuff if you are using it for just the meals alone. To all of you complaining about the Blue Apron sponsorship, how about instead of complaining about it, joining his Patreon so that he doesn't have to get those sponsorships that annoy the heck out of you, also just don't join Blue Apron if it annoys you. Be active about the issues that you're concerned about instead of going into the comments and complaining without doing anything.
