Weesam ferry to Cebu then from Mactan Airport to Perth. Maasin-Cebu-Sing-Aus.

This episode I am leaving for Australia once again heading by ferry to Cebu and then from Cebu I fly to Australia via Singapore. This boat realy does look like it is a modified airplane on a boat hull. It could have been cleaner but it was quite a good trip. I am not sure if they still operate from Cebu to Maasin. It is 2020 now and I hear rumors that they do not operate anymore. One thing that upset me was after collecting the rubish they just threw it over board. I then left from Mactan Airport in Cebu and I could see the new Airport being build. We will use the new Airport next time we went back to Philippines for a family trip.

Yes much more comfortable than Cockaleon ferry where you get a bunk bed but nowhere to sit. I prefer a comfortable seat to a hard uncomfortable bunk bed. And faster also. But when we go in September we can now fly to Maasin as the new Airport is open from Cebu. It will make for a shorter more comfortable trip back to maasin being able to fly the whole way.

Since the non- Cokaliang alternative is a bus to Hilongos, then the Robles Ferry... does not look to bad.

Thanks for the reply. We also used to fly to Tachloban and take a road trip with VanVans to Maasin but the drivers are so bad I will never do it again. I am sure sitting next to the driver last time he was on shabu to stay awake and he took way to many risks. I hope we can take the plane next time.

Airport at Maasin is open and working now. Serviced by Air Juan starting Aug 1. Not sure if they got around to finishing it because Duterte was Flying in for a Celebration, or he could fly because it was finally finished, but it has service from Cebu now.

Air Juan is flying twice a week so I hope it works out with our trip. Mind you for a 30 min trip with luggage it is not cheap and with the boarding and checks im thinking the P750 for the ferry is a good comfortable option. The plane takes 30 min and was P4500 for a ticket with luggage. If you travel with 4 people the ferry may be a easier cheaper option,

But there has always been a direct Cockaliong Cebu to Maasin for a long time. I think 3 times a week but they have a time table online. But I much prefer Weesam now more comfortable than the bunk beds.

One thing that really pissed me off that before we got to Cebu as I am sitting near the front of the ferry they collected the rubbish inside and they threw the bag over the bow of the boat.

You should have taken a video or photo and tell the management by writing an email. I'm sure the management trained them about cleanliness and environment conservation but maybe some of the crew just don't heed a simple rule.
