Yes finally a topic about this my dad is a landlord and the rent that comes in doesn’t even cover all the taxes and the bills combined he’s going to have to sell the houses as soon as possible you’re losing money big time on renting out houses on top of that all the massive issues and headaches with tenants damaging the property not paying and the list goes on and on.

But this is what went wrong in the late 90’s “GREED” People were no longer happy with one house they want more….2,3,4…….and more. This is what sent house prices through the roof then crashing. Then all these greedy people who tried to cash in with several properties were all in negative equity. Crying on a TV documentary that they had to auction them off and yet they were still left owing a lot of money. It’s greedy attitudes like this that creates more of a problem! Not happy with one or two houses!

I live in a tent, and I plan to live in a tent until I'm too old, and then I'll live in a campervan. Screw the system! Life isn't free when you 'own' a house or a car, big possessions. Money money money that's all the world is! All my possessions fit into my backpack. I'm happy owning nothing. Less stress, less need to work. I don't claim benefits or have a full-time job. I do photography when I need too. I can make over 100€ in 4 hours. I can chill for a week with that. I do publicity photos for restaurants and shops. Most give me free food while I'm there so I don't need to buy much food. I go from town to town looking for work. I've got a meal saved for tomorrow as I ate too much free food on Monday. I'm eating out at restaurants and making money while I'm there. Camping on beaches in southern Spain. No car, no bills... I love it. I'll make some cash and chill for a week or 2. Wake up with no cash and go make some more. Work about 5 to 8 hrs a week and most of that is walking around looking for the work. It has its challenges, but I'd prefer this life rather than being stuck in a house you can't afford and paying taxes on literally everything. Working a job you hate. Property is a prison, not freedom. 🏕
I've had 14 houses & yes I've paid stamp duties on each of them. To be fair the first few were cheap compared to now. I'm building now just to avoid huge stamp duty fees. ( Staying with mum & dad during this process only paying $200 month boarding towards power, gas & water. )Thanks mum! 🙏❤

Stamp duty...in Germany it starts way lower...to get around some of it: buy the contents of the house (lighting fittings, awnings, kitchen, heater, etc.] on a separate contract and so you reduce the purchase value. This is actually also helping the seller to reduce his taxes on the increased value.
In the Netherlands they created a law which allows the government to seize land in case of a "crisis". They are currently seizing farmland because of their self named "nitrogen crisis" which is basically a problem on a paper they wrote themself. They also talk about an immigration crisis, housing crisis, CO2/climate crisis, covid crisis etc. So its easy to see the long term plans.
Same law was passed during "cough" in Estonia and Latvia and not just land but also other properties like cars, food and firewood if it's more than 1 month of worth. They really are preparing to push for "you will own nothing".

I said on one of Samuel's videos about 2 years ago that the government's motto is "Why do we need to build & make when we can squeeze & take." How did I know this? Family in the establishment. What would be my advice? If you can, plan & leave the country because somethings are coming that people will not be able to deal with. You can already see the slow removal of the benefits, & that will be completely gone in a matter of years. Everything you knew that was good in this country, is not coming back.

The other way other than Tax to 'seize' your property is through the cladding scandal. The property becomes unsellable and unmortgageable with no end in sight. There are many cases where people have been bankrupted by this or been forced to hand back the keys.

I don't think here in America, we have as many taxes as in England, but we certainly have many of the taxes you named off. But, it does not really matter, here in America, the American government finds ways to tax you, but calls them "FEES", to try and lessen the sting of the word "Tax". CGT is a despicable tax as capital gains over time are almost entirely due to cost of living increases, caused largely by government money printing. So government prints money for free, causing price rises, and then tax people for the increase in price caused by their money printing...
We had to sell the family home. 10 grand in taxes were too much for us. Now in FL between insurance & taxes it's 10 grand *unless* you go without the 6 grand insurance.
If you think about it, the government is making bank. You get taxed when you buy the property and the person who sold you the property also gets taxed. Not to mention you get taxed every year you own the property.
