Thank you for the idea to add tuna to the dill pickle salad. That would be great in the keto wraps that Costco carries!

I am all about the mom tax! Hi Robin, I’m a 46-year-old Canadian mom of 3 boys and am also an emergency first responder. You and I have so much in common. If you ever see the Fairlife protein milk at Costco (either chocolate or vanilla) snap it up. 30grams of protein and soooo much better than Alani. I have watched your channel for a couple years and really love what you do. Have a fantastic day!

Balsamic is not just for salad dressing! Add to everything (except cream sauce) to punch up the flavour (and cut down salt) as well as a little brown sugar. (and more herbs of course).

My acupuncturist told me that we absorb iron supplements better if we take it on alternate days instead of every day. Just something to consider.

I've been using the Organika liquid collagen from Costco and the Kirkland Calcium Plus multivitamin. I've been feeling much better since I started taking them and now know I am in periomenopause

Robyn, I just love hanging out with you ! I am also living in Canada. Re protein powder: I used to buy the Combat powder too before Costco stopped carrying it. Now I buy their LeanFit powders, inexpensive and low sugar. My doctor approves 🙂. I use it in my morning smoothies since I have no appetite in the morning and still must have food.

iHerb have a list for women hormonal balance. I've tried it (didn't buy everything on iHerb) and I have to say, it really changed the way I felt. I added a few things that weren't on the list like cologne, raw organic coco, I use sauerdoh as well. Less stomach issues, I sleep better and my migraines are almost completely gone.

Thanks for the inspiration! I generally eat very healthy but been in a slump lately to be more creative with a variety of protein and veg. Something Dr Simms recommends, especially the week leading up to our period is lots of Omega 3’s like you said, and also zinc and magnesium. Apparently if we amp up those three things the week before, our pms symptoms can be greatly reduced (inflammation, bloating etc). She said if we have pumpkin seed crusted salmon for three nights, that’s the perfect mix of omega 3, zinc and mag. Also if you’re wanting to ween off the sugary peanut butter, what helped me is buying the pure nut butter but adding some honey on top - now I love it! Kirkland brand makes a “mixed nut butter” that is delicious. Another healthy “treat” that I love when I’m craving candy is dried mangoes - I love it way better than gummies now!

Quick food hacks - east asian food - Koon Chun brand hoisin sauce - instant fabulous (also add a bit of cheap medium sherry - Trader Joe's Amantillo blend is great - this is a sub for chinese rice wine which is darker and sweeter than sake). Dragonfly brand Tom Yum paste = instant thai soup (just add to clear soup) , this brand has galangal in it which, with giner and garlic, is the distinctive taste of thai soup - you can also buy, slice and freeze galangal to add to soup making (note galangal looks like ginger but is way too tough to eat unless you grind it ot a pulp). Add a bit of balsamic vinegar and reduce salt in dishes (Costco Kirkland brand is great - $13 a quart but it goes a long way). My fave salad dressing - olive oil, balsamic, trader joes fig paste. "Chili Crisp Oil" actually a lot of roasted dried chilies in a bit of oil - asian market item - way addicting. PS - potatoes in microwave - cut, cover w damp papertowel (put in bowl first) cover w microwave cover, nuke. I add star anise to my celery broth to give it a chinese stock flavor.

Berries - get organic - at my excellent big co-op market a guy in the fruit and veg section told me that a huge amount of pesticides are used on berries. Costco frozen organic berries are a great price.

Great video! So how small is your mini COSTCO?! A big part of the reason I don’t feel like I want to be a “COSTCO” family is that I don’t enjoy the actual shopping experience!

@@Minimalisthomeliving The brand in my Costco (far northest US) is Orgain - not sure if that is the same as what you have at yours (but how many Fruit Cereal flavor protein drinks can there be?)

The problem with Costco is it has such a restricted membership .. fine for professionals and service personnel …

Anybody can buy the membership card. It starts at $60 per year in Canada.

@@sunshining_inthe_hebrides4030 This is too bad. It was the case in Canada 20 years ago but the rules were changed to accept anyone. We love Costco here, the stores are always full :)

It would be best if you read Jason Fung. He would prove you wrong about carbs. Protein and fat are the best foods; I get full on a fatty steak and don't need the carbs. Avoid sugar.
