Weihenstephaner vs. Franziskaner is like somehow asking to choose between two absolutely beautiful women. Ummm how do you choose??? They're both gorgeous!
Get to the Schneider mate, they are available in Sainsburys. Erdinger is "so so" too watery though ...lacks bollocks. Schneider/Weihenstephaner = stalemate with Paulaner & Franziskaner as close 2nd's. As for the Aldi/Lidl beers i'd say their a step up from Erdinger (somewhat) but I wouldn't put them in the same league as the other four mentioned above. Good review, cheers.
This my favourite beer in the world. Discovered it at a steak and burger restaurant and it paired so well with the meats. Erdinger is no slouch either but this tops it for being my first wheat beer and with the ridicoulus history and all. Both Incredible, taste wise i would be hard pressed to pick. Weihenstephaner maybe got a bit more going on flavour wise. I tried two others, one with a green label and one with a monk on it but neither were close imo.
Amazing review as always Paul, great description of the beer, will definitely look out for this one to try. would like to see you do a comparison video in the future of Franziskaner and Weihenstephaner.
Damn. I crave one now. Your reviews are very refreshing, Paul. I'm also a big fan of weissbier and can relate to the all spice/festive season taste in them. I love the Erdinger weiss and the Leffe. I love German and Belgian beers. They're, in my opnion, the best beers.
My grocery store here in the states. We have it but it's in a can. I only prefer German beer from bottles. The cans are very soft aluminum compared to American beer cans
Not had that many Weissbeers, but this one is the best of the bunch I have tried. Very well balanced, not too clove heavy (which is the failing of many) and as smooth as a cashmere codpiece. Like you, I hold on to them and work up to a Weissbeer when I know I will most appreciate it. As always, cracking review.
This is my favourite everyday weissbier and great value at £1.85 a bottle - for a real treat love you to review the vitus version of this. Think that’s probably the best beer I’ve ever drank - very boozy though 😃
My favorite beer! In America it’s not everywhere so sometimes you have to settle for hacker shor or paulaner! Drinking a Pauly rate now so water down compared to other two
I prefer the Franzikaner when it has been sitting for a while and it's come up in temp. The Weihenstephaner has a much better top half but is not as good when it has warmed up IMO
Germanys best beers are wheat beers... Hefeweizen, Hefeweißbier etc., that's why they win so many trophies. Weihenstephaner is def. a great brewery... actually the oldest in the world that still exists (founded in 1040). There are also great German Lager breweries obviously, but yeah... the wheat beers are the German number one discipline in beer.
I'd like to put this up against the Rheibacher! I don't think it's as good. I did like this but it's very thin and milky, it's very "safe" in it's flavour profile. A decent beer though and I will buy it again!
Paulaner, Weinenstephaner, & Fransikaner are the top 3. König is good too. hofbraü is the only authentic German hefeweissen I didn't like to be honest.
I absolutely love this stuff. I’ve become a bigger and bigger wheat beer fan as the years have gone by, and this really is my favourite. I agree 100%, I like to keep them for a treat too. Have you tried their Vitus Weizenbock?
Is that a Tottenham logo on your sweatshirt?! It looks like it. I'm a fellow Tottenham fan in the States. Good review. Weihenstaphaner is one of the best there is. This weekend is the North London Derby... I'm worried the Spurs may have a tough game. They're without key players. Beer and ⚽ football...there doesn't seem to be much better than that. Cheers 🍻
Well spotted buddy, yes I’m a big Spurs fan. Yes, big game this weekend. We tend to lose at The Emirates most seasons so anything other than a defeat would be nice. Cheers buddy 🍻
I love a wheat beer. But I only ever have one or two and not often. My guts the next day are in bits, pure bum exit action. The cap gun is pretty cool, it's no thanos gauntlet but...
@@paulsbeerreviews Thank you. I will give it a try. Yeah just something to get me by without overusing the weihenstephaner. Nice video and cool accent by the way.
Best weissbier is made by Schneider Weiss, this lot come second and then it's a free for all as to who's third but it's going to be one of the Munich breweries. Good review mate. Shame about the sweatshirt!
@@paulsbeerreviews Beers of Europe are doing them now as far as I know. Tap 7 original their Dunkel weisse are great, if you can get the fest weisse that's superb too. It'll be the best Weizen you'll taste, trust me.
I really enjoy a German wiessbier. I've had the other 2 you mentioned and I really enjoy them. I've not tried that. What I didn't enjoy was spurs getting 1-0 up again and trying to seeing out. It's getting really frustrating the last couple of months. The tactics and team selections at home to negative. This is getting costly all these drop points 3 defensive midfield players at home. And we need more contribution in goals. Only Harry and sonny deliver. Rant over lol.
@@paulsbeerreviews if we keep doing this, our league season will fizzle out. We keep making the same mistake. 1-0 and we don't push on. Will have to try and get hold of that beer, I'm like you a wiessbier looks so nice in the proper glass as well.
Def one of the best. Could I recommend or send a beer for you to review? It's Glasgow based brewery called West. A German lady set it up and its all done to the German purity law brewed in Glasgow. All styles.
@@paulsbeerreviews Love your reviews mate they're right to the point and love your passion . Try the West weisse beer. I'm enjoying a rothaus pilsner right now. Recommend u review that please mate.
Edelweiss is a lovely Weiss to be fair. Franziskaner is my personal favourite but I really encourage you to try a few and make your own mind up. Cheers 🍻
😂always cant find any flavors in any beer either its sour or bitter 😢 thats all I get i don't know how to taste all of those ingredients he is talking abt
