I own Weihrauch guns. They are superb. I'm 74 and have just taken delivery of the HW 100. I am very pleased with the craftsmanship, design, and build quality. Thank you Weihrauch.
Thanks for sharing. Bought a HW97K a month back. Extremely accurate, very consistent performance. Solid, no rattles, no burrs on screws or otherwise. Very high quality air rifle.
Very informative video. I used to work at the Royal Ordnance Factory in Nottingham. Small Arms SA80. Quality control is easily on par. There are a lot more hands on processes here. Mark 1 eyeball to check the barrels, after all that machining still makes me smile. Weihrauch blueing is some of best on the market. Up there with Air Arms. Had all sorts of air rifles over the years, HWs, Air Arms, BSA even a Titan. Recently I was fortunate enough to buy what is to be my last rifle. Simply had enough of chasing after quality and accuracy. I ended up where I began 35 years ago, with a Weihrauch. A HW110K to be precise. Superb quality. No click, clacks or rattles, absolutely solid. Paired with a Pard 008 it has took me into the modern age. It effortlessly does what it is supposed to do, pellet on pellet. I do not intend to buy another high end gun, so I called it quits with what I consider to be one of, if not the best combination ever put on the market.
Hw95 owner here, nice to see the mothership. Happy to see them being made much in the same fashion as 50yrs ago, PCP guns have their place but nothing beats the self contained portability of a springer. Put a tin of pellets in your pocket and grab your air rifle and you are good to go shoot for cheap. These offer tremendous value. Please continue for another 50yrs.
Wow great to see there still doing so much hand finishing and inspection work, that's,something you won't see at a out sourced Chinese factory, quality is still weihraunch's priority today has it always was,and they have kept that quality at an affordable price, I have the original mk1 hw80 when they were first introduced into the UK back in 1981, I was in the market for an hw 35 when my local gun shop showed me there new stock of 80s which they were very excited about, I tried it out the .22cal version on there indoor range along with the more traditional hw 35 and I was sold on it, especially the angular stock forend which seemed to fit my hand like a glove, it's cost then was around the £90 to £100 mark and was one of the best air rifles I have ever owned, in 1983 they introduced the underlever 77 which I got in the .177cal and again it performed perfect straight out of the box, so in conclusion for me they were both the best value for money air rifles I ever owned and still have to this day, other than servicing and maintenance they both still perform perfect, now that can't be bad can it :)
I can tell you exactly what Weihrauch are all about: making the very best spring powered and PCP air rifles on the market today. They are, in the words of John Walter, "The last Bastions of traditional airgunsmithing." If only other spring powered air rifles were made to the same high standard. Only Air Arms comes close. They've been making the Rekord trigger for over half a century and still holds its own as the trigger to beat. Air Arms has a similar unit with fewer parts which owes its design to the Rekord trigger. I hope HW makes the 35 for another 20 years by which time it will hold the record as the air rifle produced for the most years which is currently the Diana mod 27 which was made from 1910 to 1987.
I want to get the best possible break barrel. Weihrauch or Diana? Should I go straight for the Weihrauch Hw95 deluxe, that people recommend? Is there any other better than that and what cal to get if I go for the Weihrauch Hw95? 22 or 177? Does it have the power to shoot 22 decent? Thanks in advance
@@greekveteran2715 The caliber choice is a debate that cannot be answered as there is no right nor wrong answer and so it is impossible to recommend one over the other. The smaller caliber will shoot faster and have a flatter trajectory making it easier for the shooter to hit his/her target at longer ranges. The .22 has a greater mass-about twice that of the .177 and therefore travels slower with a more pronounced trajectory. The shooter has to make allowances for this at longer ranges so hitting a target become more a matter of skill. I am told that .177 cal can sometimes over penetrate quarry and fail to deliver all its energy because of this. The answer to your question regarding the HW95 is yes it will shoot a .22 caliber pellet with plenty of energy. If you live in a country that has no restrictions and you're fit and strong enough then I'd go for the HW80 in .22 caliber. But this is only my opinion. Others may differ.
@@darrencady4261 I live by a village on Crete Island of Greece. We got wild terrain, so short distances full of small and medium size game.I just checked the HW 80, it's exaclty what I was looking for!!! Thank you very much for the help!!!
I really enjoyed watching this video. I would like the cut away HW80 to sit next to my .22 HW80k which is 29 years old and after tuning by Sandwell Field Sports in the UK is just a superb springer to shoot. ATB and many thanks.
Bought me a HW100TK last week to replace an Air Arms S400F. I have to say that the S400F is a shade more accurate, BUT the HW100 feels very sturdy and is an absolute joy to shoot with a much better trigger action. Love the magazines and the grip suits me better. Managed to bag a couple of rabbits first time out which, as a relatively inexperienced hunter, was pleasing.
Even though it seems that the video of today's time was shot in America, I must tell you that this video was shot in the early 2000s. This is roughly the same as today's (2020) state of the art in America. This is where the confusion comes from, the video could have been shot in the 2018/2019.
Weihrauch are THE premier manufacturer's of high quality air rifles. Only Air Arms gives them a run for their money. Love the solidity and quality of Weihrauch rifles. I own 5 HW rifles, a TX200 and a Theoben Evolution. The TX200 is a fine rifle, but I still prefer the Rekord trigger associated with HW rifles. Pure class.
HW97 and a HW100 here. Weihrauch make the best airguns for the price, end of argument. You have to spend a lot more to get a gun that is as good from any other manufacturer and the HW100 shoots like a tuned rifle costing half as much again straight out of the box.
the big difference between chinese and germans is, the chinese produce as much as they can, if the tools are in bad shape dosent matter, germans check everything to make a high quality product.
Just read the other comments and yes the quality of the video was iffy and don't know why it was so iffy but for me any factory tour of any manufacture of air rifles I will watch iffy quality or not
Dear,I am user Diana airgun (35 mod ) since 25 years.i found this the best result in hunting field . i want to buy Stutzen 46,430 mod ,but these mod is not found in market .the arms dealers says that stutzen 46,430 is discontinued .I request you to continue these mod .These mod is the best result to shoot .Thanks so lot and good wishes .Pakistan
Bloody good guns those Virak jobbies - Love my HW77K in .20 Cal - Not a patch on my AirArms TX200 though of course - But then again British engineering is second to none.
That's probably about the right amount of time they spend on a barrel, cnc crap, that's why there are so many fussy HW barrels about, hand polished ? Why does nearly every serious shooter take their record unit apart and polish and rebuild it, they are living on their past glory , why does the HW99 grate on the piston /cocking arm in a brand new gun , the answer , mass produced rubbish these days. Why did an awful lot of HW100 barrels not even get machined all the way to the end, they even recalled them and replaced FOC, but some people got stuck with them.
What about Weihrauch Hw95. People suggest that as the best break barrel. should I go for 22 or 177? Does it have the power to shoot 22 decently? Any help would be much appriciated
hull cartridge tried to screw over an RFD I know by tripling certain prices to the RFD, when the RFD went to order a hw100 the RFD was told it'll cost him £900 a rifle, even though the rifle costs £700, in the long run the RFD contacted weihrauch directly and it turned out they were giving hull cart a rather good discount, long story short hull cart was making £300 off every gun they tried to sell to the RFD I know, now the RFD is dealing directly with weihrauch and it is a good deal they both have
Just a shame Weihrauch do not adequately lubricate their springs, guides and pistons as part of the quality process. My HW80 out of the box was dry, twangy and had excess recoil. Have heard this from others as a common complaint.
If it ain't broke don't fix it. They've been making the best spring air rifles since day dot. Makes me think of borris from snatch .. weight is sign of reliability, if it does not work you can always hit them with it... not that these bad boys ever have reliability issues just people always tell me they're too heavy.. my response is always do sum push ups ya wimp. Best sub 12lb under leaver springer by a long way as far as I'm concerned!
Nice to see how my 95k is made shame it won't group and it's a shame they shuv washers inside piston to bring the power up if it doesn't do the power it should then the gun shoots likes mine crap
