1:30 That's because you mistransformed the rear tires. You are supposed to twist them a bit in a certain direction, and the tires will pop out and look like ones on a real semi truck (two tires on one long rim). It still won't roll properly, thanks to the 5 springs inside it pushing on the base, which causes friction, but they can rotate, and if you successfully take apart the tires, you can removed them from the silver tabs that cause them to lock to the base, and it will roll freely (but I HEAVILY don't recommend to, since I tried it after the teardown and getting the "lower disk" to go back was hard to do with only your fingernails). It's an amazing mechanism on it, and I even did a partial teardown of them on my 3rd channel of it (Got him a week before I wrote this comment). Don't worry, I just added a new screw and it worked just as fine (I don't really like the flat nail pins on figures). Despite a few scratches and deforms on the plastic, it works still fine and isn't noticeable at first glance.
I noticed the missed transformation after the fact. I was like damn I messed up. I'd love to do that, but difficult things aren't my thing, but he still looks good on the shelf with the others
The guy from China who designed this, Black Apple (from one of his blogs, his legal name is Guoshen), is actually my biggest influence in customizing and redesigning toys. I started with minor repaint and removing pins for kibble removal and handmade parts exchanges, but now I have the guts to saw apart certain figures to improve their transformations. I even converted my MPM 04 into a similar transformation to BA Optimus Prime (which I don't have). It tabs poorly, but has a similar forearm and chest/hood transformation. However since it is 100% handmade (the parts were cut with handheld tools, so no 3d printers), meaning that I had to cut corners. For instance the headlights partsform, the backpack looks terrible, and the hood tabs poorly. This toy is literally now an original mold. I was actually shocked when someone said it was a KO, since it had been changed way too much. Sadly, this did not save Guoshen/Black Apple or Weijiang from their tragic fate in 2020 (2020 was terrible for all of us in countless ways). And I made a Black Apple Ironhide replica with my MPM 06. However, I don't know how to sell it to 3rd party companies, so it probably won't be mass produced for a long time. Still, I found a ton of elements of the changed transformation by staring at images daily for 2 years.
Update: I've had to do so many mods to this guy that I finally lost patience and dismantled both the Ironhide and Optimus Prime figures. After failing two more classes, I realized that these two had been the most looked upon in the year, and I decided that if they weren't needing maintenance all the time, I'd have two less distractions.
