Thanks for these tips, I've just bought a recumbent bike with my elderly father in law and myself in mind. I'll use this from the off, but it'll be really good for him to once he gains some strength to add upper body conditioning in a gentle and controlled manner.
Great info I haven't seen it anywhere else! Would cycling like this build the knee muscles? That is my goal, but I have been getting conflicting information and was even told peddling doesn't do that.
I needed to see this. I have Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. I got injured from using stationary bike. I will try the ball behind back. My posture is terrible. I need the extra support . Also slight bend in knee is important. I got shin splints from wrong positioning!
