This video may hold histotical value to void glitching, but right now there are routes that are way safer and take only about 7000 steps and noone should risk their game by trying this route, which goes through flag data which means it can go through bsod maps and such, while the new ones manipulate maps with map object data. It means your steps are very precise, but will always work and only take 10-15 minutes.

Sucks I didn't research more before doing it because on my first try it glitched near the end and I had to restart but then on my second time I worked around the glitch and it worked. Took like 5-6 hours in total though if you include the time it took to do the bike trick which kinda sucks but at least I ended up getting darkrai in one day

I cannot thank you enough for this video. I followed all the steps precisely as you laid them out and nothing malevolent happened to my game at all; there was absolutely no freezing, black screens, or other damage. Best of all, I was able to catch both Darkrai and Shaymin just by following the instructions on one video!!! Thanks again man!

Trial and error seens insane since you have to walk more than 64000 steps in a specific pattern to reach those locations

The dark void glitch may just be my favourite glitch of all time. The feeling of performing a very specific and challenging set of movements successfully with the possibility of a total disaster or a ticket to some mysterious void that you shouldn't be able to enter with secrets scattered about is so incredible. Also, the fact that you're able to get darkrai because of this glitch is fucking amazing cuz he's one of my favourite Pokemon but I missed the event. It also suits darkrai so well cuz you're setting out to explore a deep dark void to find the Pokemon of nightmares. One word: EPIC.

I agree so much. I wish I could get Darkrai from this, but unfortunately, I have Platinum, and I'm pretty sure they patched it. But I freaking love Darkrai, and I wish I could get him from this awesome glitch.

They did patch it, but they didn't patch it at the same time. You can use the glitch to get to the location you need to get to, but they won't be there unless you have the event item.

The whole reason for this is because you need events to get Darkrai & Shaymin but since there is no online support for these games now there is no other way to get these 2 pokemon with out DA VOID!!!! They're not removable, their locations are only possible to get to through certain events.

They were not thrown outside the map, they were always at those areas, but you had to have a special item to access those areas, which are impossible to get without glitches/hacks.

ohnickel By "corrupt your game", I'm curious as to whether you mean the file or the actual game cartridge itself. If you could enlighten me that would be wonderful. I would like to do this glitch mainly to be able to shiny hunt these two legendaries, but I don't want to worry too much about not being able to play my Diamond version very well due to possible corruption even if I start a new file.

Bethany Hamilton As far as I am aware, entering the void area (or "Mystery Zone") and doing something incorrectly are only capable of corrupting the save due to the player's location being out of bounds and the game does not know how to handle it, and is unable to "place" the player upon reload. However, the Void (and based on my own experience), it's rather hard to corrupt one's save, but better safe than sorry.

TheFeralBishop They really arent part of the game. There is no story around them, they arent here to train them, you cant use them in a fair fight, they just exist within the game.

Event pokemon (Mew, Celebi, Jirachi, etc.) are what I'm talking about. They are indeed a part of the game, they are catchable, trainable, pokemon that unless you made it in real life to the event that unlocked them, you can't catch them legitimately in-game. Whether they have any story significance is irrelevant, they are still content within the game that is locked away from you for arbitrary reasons. And of course I'm talking about Gen I-IV, as V and VI started the whole wifi gift events instead.

red toasti Technicality, there is a house for darkrai's event in a city in diamond and pearl saying it's locked. Darkrai is in the game's programming, waiting for you at newmoon island but you can't get it. A sailor girl in that same town is under darkrai's nightmares. Event pokemon are too part of the game ( and some you could consider story) of the game. Otherwise, how could you go to their area's by walking through everything and the pokemon being there?

Every time at the beginning with the 430 steps north I get a trainer battle that freezes at 238 steps. To go around it I've tried 3 different times so far: to go left 5, right 10, and left 20, to avoid it and none of them have worked, any ideas?

i think you've probably found an answer by now, but it freezing at that specific step means that you haven't used the explorer kit on that file, which stops travel in the void

I actually remember when I was younger I accidentally activated the void glitch because I was bored. It started with me just moving around in random patterns on my bike. After awhile I decided that I'll go do something like catch some Pokémon I missed but when I went to leave that city the void was there. I tried to enter it but after taking a few random steps my game froze. Younger me was freaked the fuck out for awhile after it but I couldn't get it to work again afterwards. It's nice to know that people know about it and to finally know how to do it again so thanks for the video it was awesome and I'd definitely like to see more about the void!

+ohnickel Is it possible to just put your DS into the date of the release of Darkrai then enter the mystery gift and try to get the pokemon again or will it just say no gifts found? ohnickel I think people would be interested in more of the logistics and background behind the glitch, e.g. what exactly is happening when you're taking thousands of steps across an empty black space, why you sometimes run straight through forests, mountains, and the ocean, why you have to save and reload sometimes, what's up with the ghost version of Jublife City, etc. At least, I know I am! ;)

I figured out that if u use the circle pad on a 3ds, doing the panel glitching part is significantly easier. Also, when you're on that long straight away, u can put a dime under the circle pad so u don't have to hold it, just like hatching eggs in Lumiose in X and Y. Hope this helps :)

I have a glitch in my game where I have unlimited master balls in my items pocket and 99 regular master balls in the poke ball pocket. :)

Sounds like a Pokemon modifier code. You change the number of masterballs in the "items" part of your bag by tossing them until you get the pokedex number of the Pokemon you want and then you toss pokeballs in the "pokeballs" part of your bag until you get the level you want the Pokemon to be.

A lot of people know the coding of the game so basically they know where everything is and how to load it and what to click etc. The only real hard part would be the time it takes to get there. Nobody actually sits through trial and error, no no no, that'd be impossible XD

Short note, for the step at 5:10 you should probably beat all trainers before doing this or you could get a trainer encounter at about 230-260 steps and your game soft locks. hope that helps some people :D

This is one glitch I've been too nervous to try. I remember seeing vids on it way back when I was getting all the pokemon on diamond. Luckily I got those pokemon legit thru events, but the Darkrai event didn't even let me catch it or go to its location, they just gave it to me. So this might be fun to try one day.

No they're not getting close. There's no video but I think someone proved that you can get Spear Pillar. Using the same idea it should be possible to get to the Hall of Origin as somewhere there must be a corresponding co-ordinate in Fake Sinnoh.

From what I've heard, you can't. I think it's because the games check to see if it's an event Pokemon or if you have the event items (like Oak's Letter for Shaymin), and if they're not, Gen V and Gen VI won't let them transfer :/

If you’re having trouble getting the glitch, just spaz on the load lines Works well for me So far I’ve gotten 1 Invisible Wall 2 Unenterable Voids And a Game Freeze Edit: after a while and several freezes, I got the incorrect area loading effect

HUGE REMINDER FOR EVERYONE! Make sure to bring a pokemon with teleport or fly before doing this. I did it as soon as I got the bike and didn't have any way to get back after i caught Shaymin. Make sure to catch an abra or something!

The TWEAKING does, but the EVENT POKEMON won't be there. They patched it so the trigger is the EVENT ITEMS instead of the SURROUNDINGS.

Just like I learned how to catch mew on my own in pokemon red blue and yellow without a hack sure it's a glitch but Nintendo left it on purpose for people to find as an Easter egg, plus missiongono. Off topic though but this method It is more precise and more likely to corrupt your save file but also my way is likely to give you a bad egg you do it enough even that way can less likely but can if you do it enough Nintendo tracks how much you cheat electronically.

I'm having problems. When I do the first method, a void appears on the bottom. When I do the second, the game crashes or It works but the void isn't walk-able. When I did the slow bike method, a void appeared on the top. None of these voids we're walkable. I also tried spazzing out in both places and most of the time I'd just crash or the same problem would happen. I can't get anything else to work. I need help. After trying to tweak for an hour, I finally got my Pearl game to respond. Its response was freezing. The fact that my game froze means that I must have been doing something right, but it didn't let me go to the void. If a game freezes because of tweaking, will that copy of the game always freeze and others won't?
