I was actually looking into the reviews of this machine a few weeks ago, because we drink so much oat milk... But I saw many really concerning comments about how it has issues after a few weeks or months of use. It would be so great if you could mention it in a few months in a video if the machine still works ok for you or not.... :) Thanks!! :)

Hi, quinoa and all the legumes you have to cook before you use them. The only "grains" you can use raw is oats flakes (or any flakes). But if you use rice or any grains you have to cook them first.

It probably is because a large percentage of the population has peanut allergies so it’s not as marketable to produce peanut milk.
@MyGreenCloset
@MyGreenCloset 11 месяцев назад
Yeah that could be it! I figured peanut butter is so popular though (especially in Canada) that someone would try to make peanut milk too.

i think you may be right. my mom and i are allergic to peanuts and cross contamination is a huge issue we need to avoid with products like this.

Very curious so see an update after a while - especially interested in how the oat milk is working for you long term. My home made oat milk never quite work that well in coffee for example 😅

When I made soy milk, I would soak the beans, but then I would heat the milk, so maybe you have to do the same with pea milk to get rid of the bitterness? I used the leftover pulp/okara in veggie burgers.

I would try cooking the pea milk, similar to the process for making soy milk.

I'm curious about soy and rice, as I use those quite a bit, but I feel like if I had a machine like that, I'd want to test everything, even if it were 'weird'! Is avocado milk a thing? Corn? Beans? Potatoes? Bananas? Pine nuts or pistachios, to be fancy? Also, I wonder if it could be done with cooked things (like maybe cooking would help with the bitterness of the split peas? I think maybe rice milk is made with cooked rice?) I never drank a lot of milk, so I don't use lots of plant milk today, but if I did, that machine would make for so many fun experiments!

So many good ideas! Yeah I was wondering about cooking the split peas too, I'll have to try it to compare.

There is potato milk, by a company called dug. I like it and would say it actually does not have a strong flavor. Though, I do used it mostly in coffee or pancakes. (more of a regular oat drinker though)

I wonder how these do it coffee, e.g., do they separate and do they go well in terms of flavor. With cereal I can have almost any plant milk, but for coffee I only like soy and oat milk barista versions that are specifically designed for use in coffee.
@thenopedetective

This is be curious about! I find for coffee it does need some adatives otherwise it separates (particularly with soy milk, which is my preference for protein).

Hi Verena! I have a question to ask. I am looking for wool felts for piano. Do you know of any vegan fabric (wool alternative) that can be used to make felts? I thought of asking you since you have studied about fabrics. Thanks!
@MyGreenCloset
@MyGreenCloset 11 месяцев назад
I don't know about pianos specifically, but a lot of felt (such as felt pieces for crafting) are made from synthetic fibres.

@@MyGreenCloset In pianos, wool felt is used. So, I was wondering if there’s anything that feels similar to wool felt.

In Spain is called “horchata” and is a very popular drink during summer, is delicious!! You can find it in cafeterias, ice cream corners and even supermarkets. In Latin America they also have a beverage with the same name but is made of a different ingredient.
