Hetalia is no longer a fandom, ITS A DAMN CULTURE-

I have come to the conclusion that it is both a good thing and a bad thing that our fandom is back.

This time can we not become the worst fandom ever? Now there are other super awful fandoms out there that already do that, so can we all agree to be chill this time?

You cannot escape the ne ne papa fandom. No matter how hard you try, it always finds its way. I have been in this fandom since I was 11 years old and as of the moment, I am 22 years old. I have LITERALLY been in this fandom for half of my life span. XD

Hetalia is litarally the only active fandom, like, when i watch other animes i only see AMVs, gacha react cringe that kids stole and some more boring stuff, but hetalia is not a boring fandom, hetalia fandom always welcomes me and im happy countries excisted (sorry if my english sucks english is not my first language)

I think its also worth reminding people that Hetalia isn't a kids show. I know that people treat it like it is because it attracts teenagers. But its not. Its targeted at the 18-25 year old demographic in both Japan and the United States. Much like the Simpsons, or South Park, or Family Guy. Try to keep that in mind.

I met someone today that said that Hetalia was about Nazis and when I told them it was satire and hima doesn't even draw nazi stuff they said it was still personifying nazi Germany and Iwas talking about how that's literally not true and it's a comedy 5 minute per episode satire about stereotyped countries they said "Well it's not very good satire if people used it for nazism is it?" anyways so I started crying-

I've only been for 7 years in the fandom and I can say we've had such a HUGE improvement. Not to say that you will still find mean people but thoes are almost non existince now. So whoever is coming in to the fandom welcome to the hell hole called Hetalia!

Don't forget that Hutt River just dissolved last year and there's surprisingly few fanworks about it. So if you want a good darkfic idea thats unlikely to generate controversy or anything, there you go.

I am kind of a semi-new fan, having joined the western hetalia fandom sometime during its "dead" years. I recommend people who are brave enough to deal with unfamiliar languages to check out the fandom in other countries. Hetalia is already "geographical", so it is interesting to see the different portrayals of characters in different places. Plus, there are places like here in China where the fandom has been mostly alive and relatively healthy all this time!

I joined the fandom after it died the first time around

I have a Hetalia quote on my middle school (just before High School that is) graduation year book. In my comment under a friend's page, in the end of the comment I have "A wise word" which is "Paaastaaaaaaa" and in a parenthesis that China is a guy. (We had been debating over China's gender). So yes, I was pretty cringe.

I'm actually new to the fandom, and right on time too since the new season came out. People keep saying this fandom was crazy when the anime was popular and judging by some of the weird fanfiction I've read so far that came out almost a decade ago, I can see that. Lol But I guess I'm lucky that I haven't encountered anything too weird yet. Besides "Danish Slaughterhouse.."

I feel like I’m on a tour bus of an Fandom that was huge in my childhood, I stare off in the distance and remember all the amusing madness! All the fan content, comic dubs, mmds, rpg games, MEP or Map (Multi Editor/Animator Project) Videos, cosplay, fan fictions and of course the ships! Makes me nostalgic and miss those times when the fandom was at its highest point in popularity. I didn’t realize how much I loved these characters and missed this fandom, and how much I would be excited to see something new pop up in the fandom even though it has gotten quiet in the last few years. As a Hetalia Veteran, I hope to see new content soon and hope for Hetalia to have 2nd renaissance era. Thanks Kolko for another great Hetalia video and I can’t wait to see what in store later ;; (Sorry if there is typos, I’m tired, and my eyes are crusted with tears)

i'll have to say that such terrible fandom almost exists among the western communities only, hetalia fandom in asian countries like japan and china are actually quite polite and respectful, including fojoshi fandoms. there's even a basic rule in chinese hetalia fandom which requires each and every fans to type ”/“ inside real countries' name anytime they mentioned them just to distinguish them from real countries, whether if it's chat messages or comments below videos, for instance "t/h/e u/n/i/t/e/d s/t/a/t/e o/f a/m/e/r/i/c/a", all fans follow this, and the rule had lasted for more than a decade now. i can constantly see asian fans worrying about western fans' inappropriate behaviors, and also loud criticisms from other anime fandoms, reputations are awful even now, i really don't know what will happen next, it's too late for any changes.

i recently got back into it and i'm honestly so proud of how tame the fandom is now
