We very much enjoyed our stay in this cabin. Both my wife and I have many relatives from this area so it was like coming home. Hospitality was perfect. A wonderful place to get away from a busy life and just relax. 💜
@@cabincrafts2239 Supposedly my Husbands family was granted the land of Perryville for the great great great grandfathers work in one of the wars. The land was his payment. My Father in law was raised there along with his twin sister and 8 other siblings.
Your cabin is absolutely adorable. Love all the special details. 💕 Just an aside, I love your cap . Can you show us how to make one on one of your episodes 🌹♥️👍🏻
What a gorgeous place. I have always felt as if I was born a hundred years too late and this cabin just captured my heart. I love the preservation of the corn crib/cabin and the story that goes with it.
I love your cabin, thank you for showing us around. It’s so refreshing the fact you hide the modern features and keep its originality. It’s fabulous History and all. X
I would love to have that cabin in my back yard. It is absolutely precious. So much convenience in such a small space. I love the tile in the shower that looks like logs. The upstairs bedroom is so cozy. It is amazing how much the pie safe holds. Everything needed for a short stay. Thanks so much for the tour. Y'all have a Blessed day.
I love her ❤!! My husband and I live in a 3 story 4bed/4bath home that i like but honestly I cant take full care of anymore. I would put this baby in the woods by a babbling brook and he and I would live out the rest of our lives in peaceful harmony!!
My husband’s great grandfather lost his right arm during the battle at Vicksburg. He was born in Wales, and fought for the Union. We visited the site where he laid injured for hours before he was found. He was also from Missouri. Your cabin is beautiful! I love watching your channel.
What a nice place, would be fun to stay there. Love the ideas for hiding the TV and microwave and refrigerator. Enjoyed your ancestorial stories. Thank you
Candy, I live close to Richmond, MO, where Bloody Bill Anderson was killed and is buried. It's about 50 miles west of Kansas City. I'm originally from Cass County, MO, where Quantrill and FRANK James were based during the Civil War. (Jesse was a 15-year-old boy when the war ended. He would not become famous until the 1870s, almost 10 years after the war ended.)
@@cabincrafts2239 ya did, I must of had something else on my mind at the time not paying attention. Love the cabin and I watch again too. Is there anymore cabin like this,so pretty,ty for sharing too..🥀🤗🌹♥️
@@cabincrafts2239 you did the best thing for your cabin. Too many people have never had a wood stove or fireplace. They would not know how to properly start a fire and safely keep it burning.
Wow great place! Um you said if iam not mistaken the fireplace heats up the downstairs? How does the loft stay warm? I cannot believe how cute and awesome this place is! Great job!
Oh my goodness! I love it! It's exactly the type of place the hubby and I would love to hunker down in with the snow outside, the fireplace going, a cup of coffee and a couple of good books. We would stay inside our whole vacation, lol. Tell me, though, Candy.... is there a place to store away our luggage and unpack and hang our clothes? I didn't notice in the video.
There are peg racks on the wall in the bathroom and bedroom. Most people put their luggage under the bed. Upstairs also has plenty of room to stow luggage, etc.
@@cabincrafts2239 Good to know! If I'm in the area, rest assured, you'll have a visit from me! Your cabin is just so lovely. Makes me wanna hang up my coat and have a seat :)
Thanks Candi, that is so nice, love the cabin and the Civil war stories. I'd like to visit sometime. Justine and Ron speak of you kindly and I have seen you on their videos. Hope you do more soon.🙂
Thank you for sharing your beautiful little cabin. I live in Franklin County, Missouri my family still uses the original 1830’s cabin. We maintain it but it has no modern amenities. I would like to make one correction, Missouri never seceded from the Union. Here’s an excerpt from MO State Archives - A State Convention began to determine the relationship between Missouri and the U.S. Government on February 28, 1861. On March 19, the Convention voted against seceding from the Union 98-1.
Thank you! The Civil War in MO is complicated to be sure. Gov. Jackson issued an executive order to secede. The Cofederacy claimed MO as the 12th state in the Confederacy. I should have been a little more precise but in a quickie video it's hard to get all the info in. MO did not actually achieve secession, but they sure tried. I was just trying to make a point how divided the state actually was. A very rough place during the CW for both sides of the fence.
This is some very effective advertising! I may have to plan a trip to MO sometime just to stay here, if you're still renting it when I get the funds for such a trip. 😅
Omgosh..what a place and what an amazing family history..i love that Liberty angel on the wall..do you sell those in your shop? Thank you so much. Becca M..lol..now my husband is talking quotes from Josey Wales😂..
That was so awesome Kandye and Dale. I remember watching Clint helping to do your sweet cabin. That was before I knew of you. I would love visiting your Arbnb sometime. I enjoy all things history. Thanks fir sharing Dear. Blessed my heart ♥
Hi Candy. I watched the episode of this cabin being taken down and then restored at your place. It was fascinating to watch and see the loving care that went into the project. I did notice some subtle changes you made in the meantime. The kitchen sink and faucet and the addition of the TV. Beautiful cabin. Thanks again Candy for looking out for our history and keeping it alive.
@@jonpulicicchio5000 also we were rushed to film reveal before cabin was finished so water wasn't even hooked up yet, hence the sink difference. The TV downstairs is hidden behind a blanket crane with a quilt on it so it is disguised.
Omg I love this. I've visited your shop once and really enjoyed myself. I'm going to suggest to my husband about renting your cabin for my birthday this year. 🥰🥰🥰
Your cabin is an inspiration with it's beauty. We will soon be restoring an old tobacco barn and you have shown us so many wonderful ideas for small spaces. Blessings
If the pictures of your Grandfathers are not copies I would get them done. If children stay in this room they could get broken and are very expensive to replace. I know this because mine were damaged.
Just love the cabin! You did a fabulous job you 2!! Thank you for everything you shared!! Really enjoyed the video!!! God bless you both! Looking forward to the next video!!
