My mom was born and raised out there, went to Dominguez but constantly ditched to see her friends at Centennial! 🤣 She went into the military and when we can back, we weren't allowed to go past a certain street on my Granny's block and we were never allowed to go to Lueders Park. I also couldn't go to the corner store on E Pine without an adult! She did everything she could to make sure that we never fell into the life she was in back in the day! I love it out there though....1 of my forever homes!

First trip to the west coast in May 2015(VNG/RFB hood day). I came from the east coast. We celebrated our hood day in Bompton that year at a spot on Bompton Blvd and Aprilia Ave at a party where joe moses performed. I stepped away to take a phone call on the corner. When I was done on the phone I sat on bench and take in the nice scenery this night. After about a minute of day dreaming I snapped out of it and say "I'm trippin. This bompton". 😄 After the party one of the VNG OOGs drove me to Piru street and central Ave. The OOG sat in the car while I stood on top of the car to take a picture of the Piru Street sign. I heard someone across the street yell AYO HOMIE WHERE YOU FROM? I finished snapping a pic and then i hopped off the car and told homeboy my name and said I'M VNG 50 BRIMS FROM NEW YORK. WHAT'S UP WITH IT?!?! Shit cool down. It was all love. It was 3 homies in a car from WSP on the way to the same party I just left. When I went to turn around to head back to my car I didn't even know the oog VNG had just walked up asking if everything was good. The homies said yeah. Afterwards we drove through Nickerson gardens. All of this happened at 2:45-2:50am. I remember this because I remember looking at my watch going through Nickerson and it was 3am by that time.
