Haven’t tried the OTF, but I will, asap. I bounce back and forth between Lemon Hart 151 and Hamilton 151. I feel that they have a greater flavor complexity which is a huge contrast to other overproof spirits which tend to lean toward the PGA style of no flavor and major burn. I am familiar with the history of Lemon Hart and the fact that it has changed. As for Hamilton, I’ve read that Ed Hamilton purchased the remaining stock of Lemon Hart before they temporarily went out of production. Hamilton does not carry the official Demerara seal for some reason. Seams that it was due to some pissing contest. Perhaps you could research this and enlighten us as to the true story. Thanks for the great video. Rum always,
Thanks for another cool video guys!!! I really like how you guys are comparing different brands from the same region. And I just received my Pleasant Tiki Witch Doctor Tiki mug. 🤙🗿🏝🍹
Lemon Hart 1804 is available in the US, the issue is finding a liquor store that carries it. Our state stores in Virginia do stock it, but not at every store, so I usually go to a shop in DC that has a good rum selection rather than driving all over NoVA to get all the stuff I need. It may just be that the distributors that supply the stores Jason goes to don’t carry the 1804.
OFTD has an interesting flavor, but being overproof it's a little difficult to enjoy sipping and leaves me feeling a bit odd afterwards. I pick up the Hamilton (not overproof) Demerara when I can find it.
