It’s not too hard. I do handrails. I work with a couple different builders. Metal handrails aren’t too much more expensive than a nice wooded rail, and people really like the metal look.
I really appreciated you working with what you have, not trying to be extra fancy. Most americans are struggling and its hard out here and i appreciated your real-ness. GREAT CONTENT
Excellent job my brother, I suggest you use anchor bolts, would be about the same price as the epoxy and treaded rod, makes the installation faster, for the painting I like to use self etching primer. Great job again and thanks for sharing.
You left the top of the sanotube creating a lake for the bases of the hand rail to sit in. Or did you come back and cut it off? Anyway, other then that, I think you did a fine job.
For the people saying that no one would pay that much, its more of a reflection of were you are at. I do pressure washing and people easily pay me 800-1500 for A day's work (even in 2024). Please understand that they are paying for HIS SKILLS, TIME AND EQUIPMENT and that costs money. Also not every client is concerned with price. Price is just ONE factor they consider. Also it also depends on YOUR MARKET AREA PRICES. I have seen pressure washers charge half of what i charge for same work in other areas but their cost of living, expenses are way lower than up here in the pacific north west were im at.
Man you can do this with stick harbor freight welder… cheap as hell 110 plug up .. and if anybody says otherwise they are not a true welder/ fabricator
That my friend is a lot of work for one thousand two hundred.....after all is paid ....epoxy, all thread, abrasives, metal cleaner, primer, paint, 2 in SQ tb, base plates, argon co2, filler rod and gasoline for the truck...... It is a good deal for the homeowners. They are lucky to have you.
Just wondering. Why did you not put some embed plates in your concrete? I'm not saying that you did anything incorrect. There's so many different ways to construct. I think if it was my job , a piece of flat plate with some rebar or nelson studs welded on one side to hold the plate in the concrete. Then weld the uprights to the plate . Either way, I like what you did . I definitely learned some things. Thanks for the video
Sonotube should not extend to the bottom of hole, only at grade level for more stable support. Sonotube will deteriorate in time and result in space between concrete and soil. Learned this the hard way.
He had a couple hundred worth of materials in the job not counting the thousands of dollars worth of machinery he used to complete the job and years of experience and knowledge 2k was a modest price
WOOOOOWW! Great video BUT I'm not sure if I'm envious or what. You do fine work but my charge for the identical setup and installation would be - maybe - 500 + materials tops on a Good Day. Are you in a really affluent area? Anyway, More power to you, young man! All the best.
So you're just painting directly over mill scale? I think? I've been wondering if I can do that... as projects get larger there's no way you can grind it all off.
5:30 the easiest way to describe all that jumbling would be to just say that this drawing isnt to scale. then everyone knows its all guestimates and this looks about right measurements versus actually following the drawing haha
I couldn't get $500 for that job. 38 years experience, thousands of $in tools, have my own shop with no mortgage or rent. Miller trailblazer 302 on a custom made welding trailer that I built. I'd be lucky to get $400+the $160 for material
These video's make everyone think they can buy welder and just go make money. Good luck, its not that simple. That's the issue with RU-vid making everyone think they will get rich. When actually most channels are making stuff up to get views.
Whats a job like this run in your area? A lot of people are saying a few hundred not a few grand. I truly don't know, I work on cars, this ain't my field of expertise. Cool project nonetheless though.
