Top of the line product!!! Couldn't be happier. Comes clamped together and spiffy clean ready to double check and weld up. Best thing since Betty White & sliced bread.
The only thing I can think of is that you can't put u-bolts on the corners. The pressure in between the corner and the cross plate is better than just having the pressure on the cross plate. But I also can't see it affecting it much if you used u-bolts, but wouldn't hurt to get some pressure against those corners.
After welding the tabs on the top of the table, I am guessing you have to carefully grind down all of the spots where the weld bead is sticking out above the flattened table?
@Steve Anderson In another video, the demonstrator recommended using a flat file run across the surface to minimize any chance of creating low spots from using a grinder. Tedious but it should work.
I didn't - welded just fine with MIG (Argon 75%/CO2 25%). I did spray all joints with Acetone to get the "transport" oil off it. He TIGs a lot of it, which might have needed some cleanup, but doesn't look like he did. Best way to find out is to try it, I guess. Using flux core MIG or Stick (SMAW) you shouldn't have any problems at all. Using proper MIG (ie. with gas) should work fine, but you might get a few spits and pops if there's too much oil on the surface still.
